That was insane! Disney said they used the "original molds" but why does YOURS look leagues better than theirs??? Incredible work! You made a Museum level piece!
@@standoutsteel023 Right! Really talented artists did beautiful work with what they were given access to. Nobody dedicated to working on movies at this level is just some hack.
damn, even the prequels didn't put in that much attention. if Adywan ever does 'Revisited' versions of them, i reckon he would use these to replace the digital yoda. Actually i wonder if thats even possible, the talking stuff yeah, but puppeteer the fight scenes? ooff. maybe cg puppet combo? would be cool to see
Absolutely stunning. The passion and sheer amount of work that went into this is clear. Seeing it in person must be a very cool experience! May the foam be with you. Foam latex, that is.
Beautiful work, and I’ve seen the condition of the original in person )and that was 20yrs ago) so this is also amazing for “archival” reasons. Also really makes me appreciate Frank Oz’s capacity as a puppeteer, he really brought that puppet to life👀
Thanks! In order to authentically recreate the puppet, I had access to the original mech and wardrobe which is still in the LFL archives, the rest of the components were acquired from private collectors who obtained them directly from Stuart Freeborn before he passed. Most of those components are not accessible by LFL which is why they've struggled with an ESB era likeness/performance. We tried our best to honor Frank's amazing performances as best we could in our shot for shot scene recreation videos which can also be found on this channel. :)
Because movie props are crafted for movie making and the materials used from the original Yoda puppet disintegrated over time. All public information about it was because Lucasfilm went to their archives and people shared that info online.
I had to do a double-take before I realised the footage at the end wasn't from the original film. This is incredible. Much better than the puppet from TLJ.
This is absolutely beautiful work man! I'll be honest when I saw the final result, as a Star Wars fan it made me tear up. This is amazing. You did Stewart Freeborn, Frank Oz, and George Lucas proud!
Thanks so much!! Even though I'm the one who made it, it still gets me in the feels just the same. Awesome to hear others having the same kind of reaction! :)
@@STARWARSICONS I can imagine you'd have an even greater emotional reaction to it than others after all of the love and passion that went into this. Your hard work and dedication really shows. May the Force be with you

I don't understand why the puppet in the ST and (before the re-edit) Phantom Menace were SO much worse than this one. This looks extremely close but for some reason the puppets in those films looked strange and very different to the point where the PT CGI one would have been better.

Sería genial poder recrear la escena de Yoda en el episodio VIII con esta versión del maestro verde, disney debería contratarlos o aprender de ustedes o de usted
Have to say I'm not personally much of a fan of that version, but would like to recreate some of the ep 1 scenes with the ESB era looking puppet as in my opinion would have been epic.
That's because I had access to all the original ESB assets and didn't take any artistic license where as the production of The Last Jedi didn't have access to the assets and most of that puppet had to be re-sculpted. Well Lucasfilm should defo be offering to buy this off you, could between Phantom Menace and The Last Jedi, theyve never managed to get Yodas look right
Now.... Can you fix the Last Jedi? I mean, it's got so many problems. But can you fix the Yoda stuff by redoing it? That Yoda puppet looked..............off.
@@STARWARSICONS Ah, well. One can dream I guess. I just would have loved to see someone fix the versions of Yoda in TPM, and TLJ to look more cohesive. I bet some fan edit projects would love that. It's brilliant work you did. I thought it was the original footage at first. Amazing.
Before Stuart passed, he sold off his original assets to several private collectors. I was given access to those assets along with access to the original skull/mech and wardrobe which still reside in the LFL archives.
I was waiting for the comparison, then realized it wasn’t the original footage and was the new puppet. Mind blowing.
I love that! But yeah maybe doing something wrong if people aren't realizing that's new shot for shot footage with our puppet.
Are these for sale?
That was insane! Disney said they used the "original molds" but why does YOURS look leagues better than theirs??? Incredible work! You made a Museum level piece!
Because Rian Johnson the dumb dumb recreated the Yoda from return of the Jedi, when people expected the one from empire.
My jaw hit the floor when I realized that was your recreation and not Yoda in the movie scenes!!! Amazing work.
Thanks so much! Check out my page for the full length versions. There are 2 different ones!
Holy heck! The REAL Yoda is back!
Yes!! That's exactly the response we want!
This doesn't get enough appreciation. This is good work.

I 1000% agree!!
Luke's "Yoda!" has a special meaning here. This is the art of storytelling in a physical creation right here. Kudos.
Luke's Yoda, I like that! Thanks for the kind words!
