@@justmedontknowdoyou7860 or a Borg cube full of em’ ;) Drone footage is still a fairly new concept, I was watching surf rescue video’d with one and totally forgot... in WA they use them for beach fishing, they fly the hook out and drop it.
i love all these daring-do videos about how gnarly everything is. When actually the camera person and boat have already done it and are waiting patiently for the "stars" to blather their way through.
Actually the two main tourist boats that run the falls have more than two engines. The smaller one has 3 x 300 Hp outboards and the larger has 4 x 300Hp outboards, 900 and 1200HP respectively. We were up there two months ago and went through both falls, it's both insane and spectacular.
My friends and I have spent a lifetime engaging in high-risk sports, and we still get to enjoy them because we've shown respect for the environments we're in, and have been prepared for sub-optimal outcomes. I'm struggling to understand how a PFD wasn't the most common sense bit of kit for this particular adventure. For some, looking cool is everything. Know what's not cool? A bloated corpse retrieved by divers 2 months later when the body's found. Not a great example for young adventurers who look up to these guys.
The horizontal waterfall would of near stop my heart too! Thankfully you guys had some good power to get it through! Well Done, great to watch. Aussie Chrisso 🛥️🚤
We have a reverse falls in Victoria B.C. Canada that happens every time the tide comes in and goes out! There is only a few places like this in the world! Thanks for sharing this bruv! Cheers, Jerbs.
I just spent 4 months up there just me and the dog. I went through both the gaps a couple of times and grew up going through there all the time with my dad. wicked place that deserves respect. should have waited for the tide to ease off a bit and gone through the second gap. there's also a lovely fresh water spring is you go right after the first gap.
Did these falls years ago with our two most experienced coxn's on the helm - one with over 30 years ocean going sea experience - in two seaboats...absolutely awesome, so powerful, but absolutely scary as all get out! Even had a couple of guys jump in between the two falls - for about 30 seconds each - just to experience the pull of the water, which was apparently incredible (they were nutters though - seasoned territorian divers, who don't know the meaning of caution)!
Doesn't look much worse than Hell's Gate on the Fraser River in BC, although it's difficult to judge properly without being in the boat myself. Now, if you want some *real* boating action, I invite you to visit the Columbia River Bar on a blustery day. BTW, the other name for the Bar is The Graveyard of the Pacific.
I’ve done similar stunts, this was in my opinion inches away from going over. Incredible the power of the water. There’s a river hear in Georgian Bay, Ontario Canada called the Bad River, absolutely crazy rapids. You need a minimum of 50hp on a Tinny to overcome the speed of the water..full out your barley creating forward at times. Scary as hell, but cool!
This is nothing compared to The Skookumchuck in BC, Canada that thing swallows barges and tug boats, yet guys on kayaks surf the tide change. It's insane to watch!!
I'm sitting here trying to figure out where this is in Kimberley, Washington. I'd never heard of it. (LMAO) Then they said "Crocs and Sharks" and I was like.... WHA? Yes, I figured it out quickly, it didn't look like anywhere I'd ever seen in the USA, and IT WASN'T. LOL
id do it in my 1995 boston whaler dauntless 15. its got an EFI YAMI on the back and im as wreckless as them. but they did it and i didnt so HAIL TO THEM!!
Country side is way too harsh and miles from anywhere. And why destroy a beautiful place for a bit of power? I lived in the Kimberley's and Solar and Wind are the best for that area.
@Hammerschlägen M The nearest place with people is Broome, which is 255 kilometers away, and Broome only has 12,000 people. There are only 35,000 people in the Kimberley's which has a size of 163,521 sq mi, 3 times bigger than England and just slightly smaller than California. They dont need the power, so no need to try and harness it for power. They already use Solar and Wind in the town sites for power. You really should do some research before sprouting off.
While I was in the uni, we did lots of researches on hydropower for the Kimberley, tide up to 10 meters high. as Shane said, the extremely low population and their widespread makes it economically unfeasible. Unless one day the ultra-high DC transmission becomes cheap technology there is no way to make this profitable. Or when the electricity is $10 or more per unit which I assume can happen after world war three, LOL
Great footage, I have been through both on the tour boat and that was at bit hairy, great though, but I could not imagine going through that with a small boat.
Malcolm Douglas, a classic Australian bush adventurer on TV, did some fishing in those waters that I remember watching. He kept getting fish on his line and when he got them to the boat the sharks had eaten everything but the head, whaler sharks absolutely swarming those waters.
Been through there a few times and it’s a bloody ass clencher every time! Bloody good fishing up round there though, we saw a massive 6m salty floating about the falls one year, I would not want to go for a swim there !
Ummmm We do that almost once a week at Haulover in FL. With Waves bigger then our boat. Just trim it with the nose up a bit and give it hell... Problem solved
There is some serious yachting destinations! Some of the best in the world! Imagine sitting in your 60foot boat/yacht anchored for a week just catching fish, jet ski ing and snorkeling! Absolutely stunning part of Australia!
@@hedleyt8095 Well I did and here I am. Try Exmouth Gulf dive expeditions. It makes the Great Barrier Reef look like a paddling pool, and that makes John Penecamp reef look like, well nothing much at all.
Wow that was intense happy I watched it before I made a decision to go into the falls I think it’s a wee bit safer looking down and listening to the roar of the ocean that’ll be enough.
Malcolm Douglas did it on a video series . He was an expert driver and almost flipped it . Have to be an expert boat driver in charge before I'd do it .
Love adventure and I'm glad you made it through safely. As I've learned in my own life, " you're never too old to do something stupid " but how's a man to test his metal. Most men will find something dangerous to do eventually. Stay safe...Shalom
Initially it threw me off with the WA in the intro text. I'm familiar with most water difficulties in the State of Washington, USA---LOL. The one that is well know here is Deception pass in the San Juans. HOWEVER this makes Deception pass look like a kiddy pool! These days it could be drones, though I wouldn't bet money on it. It's also possible the camera crew has a more capable boat.
Yeah it's so dangerous were not even gonna wear a life vest. LMAO
It's either soooooo dangerous and they're simple fools, or - more likely - it's typical talk-it-up TV.
Was totally asking myself the same thing. Why no life vests on? TV does exaggerate ever for sure as well....

You are a floating feed if you end up in the drink there
Way overdramatic!

This is hard to appreciate if you've never run a big boat through rough waters. The way the current pushes that boat sideways is incredible.

Dang that was crazy how the got pushed sideways like that. Like the paint job on the boat.
Good job putting you life vests on before that run lads. Great example! Haha
I'd be more worried about crocs and sharks up there. I think I'd rather drown

My wife and I flew from Broome and had a great day ..lemon sharks and bat fish .going on the boat ride was beautiful. That was 2015 ...yes go there .
Having done a lot of crazy boating over the years my heart was pumping hard just watching. 👍😎👌
ive been there and even in a tour boat it makes you wonder how safe it is even with 4 300hp on the back
Okay...I wasn’t impressed with the danger UNTIL he mentioned there are CROCS and SHARKS in those waters!

I was so scared for those two! I mean white water! Rushing in a direction! And you you brave souls took it on like like im wiping tears away
I was so frightened for them.
Pretty exciting but pretty short. The Whirlpool Rapids of Niagara Falls are equally exciting but longer. The Jetboat ride is intense.
I remember going through the narrows of Draney Inlet to Dawson's Landing for freight, same only wider less turbulent.
You guys are absolutely crazy. I can't believe you are still alive!!

🙈that was scary watching your boat flip flop.. Glad you got through.
Great Video.
They came through like a piece of cake. Amazing
Malcom Douglas would have done it with his old 90hp 😂😂
Sir Malcolm did it many times, 30 yrs ago.
I know that’s why I said he would do it in an old ally boat with a 90hp Johnston. He was a ledgend
Yeah he was pretty cool!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 How true.
Driving that boat through the narrow must be like running on the moving sidewalk at the airport. Nice!

Sad they can't afford sleeves for their shirts.
