Ok so I will say this, as a 49 year old who watched this movie 3 times the first day it came out in theaters. If you didn't laugh, yell, clap and cry during this movie you might want to check whether you still have a heartbeat. I remember people laughing and hooting in the theater. It is one of the best memories I have as a teenager.

The humans didn't create machines that looked like people. Kyle told us last movie that the machines made terminators as inflitration units, to kill people.

The Terminator and T2 were the Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back for my generation.
The Terminator is possibly the greatest "B-movie" ever made. By that i mean, it is the greatest low-budget sci-fi ever produced. Some of the effects stand out like a sore thumb. But The Terminator is still a great inspiration for future filmmakers. Cameron showed us what can be possible on a small budget and its freaking amazing.
T2 on the other hand is the greatest action movie ever made. Cameron showed us whats possible once youve established yourself in the industry. And its freaking phenomenal.
I mean, Linda Hamilton was so great in T2, she made Sarah Connor one of the greatest, strongest, most iconic female roles ever put on film. Her Sarah Connor is right up there with Cameron's own Ellen Ripley in Aliens and Scarlett O'Hara in Gone With The Wind.
They're Star Wars people 🫤
Fun facts. The nuclear blast scene, 2 Sarah conners in the factory and the cop at the coffee machine used the actors real life identical twins

The extended version makes it even clearer that this should be the finale. There’s a different epilogue with a scene of old Sarah in the playground with her son. Her voiceover says that John grew up to battle in the US Senate. Judgement Day had passed with no attack. Bright sunshine and smiles.
BTW, in the extended version, while Sarah was in the hospital, there’s a scene of her dream in which she sees Kyle talking with her. She deeply misses him. She then runs down the hallway and sees the playground. She watches the children burn alive.

The way the Terminator came in the bar and straight up Deebo that dude for his bike and the dude with the shotgun Terminator 1and 2 are the best terminator movies
they had an ending that showed they prevented judgement day and created a brighter future but the movie made so much damn money in theaters and vhs also especially when it hit DVDs they decided to work on sequels

This is such a good movie for real. And you guys are going to put some respect on it for real. And the guy that stole the police officers uniform is the T 1000 the prototype and the more upgraded terminator. And this is the same girl from the first Terminator. And I saw this movie after I saw the first Terminator. This movie is so good and so full of action and also mind blowing.
As long as John is alive the apocalypse world is inevitable, he is the son of a warrior from the future, so war has already happened.

This has to be one of the best action movies of all time. Defenitely my favourite. This and "The Fifth Element".

These guys hack into ATMs then he calls his mom a loser for blowing up a factory? Come on you know they would think that's cool.
The thing about time travel movies is that you can have have endless sequels because there is no finite time, meaning there is no start and no finish to anything.
That being said, the rest of the movies are not great. I like part 3, but I understand why most people don't, but it's worth watching.
The rest have ok moments here and there, but avoid the last one at all costs. Do not watch the last one.
"How are there more movies?!?" BINGO!! They should never have done any of the follow up movies - they're dreadful. This was the perfect 2 movie duet.

James Cameron originally only did the 1st and 2nd Terminator movies but another director did the rest. Most people don't like the other Terminator movies.

How it continues on?
It really makes sense, if you think about it.
What they had going was a loop. Arnold shows up in the first movie from the future. Sent by Skynet. Gets destroyed. His chip goes to CyberDyne. Dyson builds Skynet. Skynet blows up world. Uikds a bunch of terminators. Sends Arnold back through time. Arnold shows up in the first movie.
Etc. etc.
But we have to ask ourselves, “How did this loop begin?”
If Skynet cannot exist without Arnold, and Arnold without Skynet, then this loop could never exist. Because it could never begin.
So this tells us, at some point Skynet originally was built, without an Arnold chip.
By destroying the chip they delayed Judgement Day. But it still must come.
Arnold or no Arnold.

The reason it continued on for three more movies is Hollywood's greed, nothing more, nothing less. Cameron intended for T2 to be the conclusion; Hollywood couldn't leave it at that.
