    The best part here is that every video progressively shows not just that there's alot of fine tuning and rebalancing going on, but also future-proofing, which is an absolute necessity.

    Hope we can see trade ships flying around like old sins. I really only build them for this reason to give my empire some life.

      You will see them if there are any TEC players in the match. And you can even hire trade escorts that don't count against your supply.

    I love that it is still basically old Sins, just with revamped graphics, a ton of QoL changes to make everything smooth and well thought out as well as more responsive in the heat of combat. The way rockets work now, making positioning more important is a lovely change. Modernized, revamped, improved... but still Sins as we know it.

      Indeed, this level of quality and dedication is all gamers really want, not all of the ghastly, bloated excesses of modern "triple Aaaaa!" gaming.

      I don't see why you'd be disappointed. The original was nearly perfect. Why fix what isn't broken? They tried that with Homeworld and wrecked the franchise. ​@@Hyluse

    so far, very nice changes. Though I'm sad that not all factions will have access to trade ports anymore. I used to like watching all the trade ships from various races and allies moving around from place to place doing trades.

    Compared to test version on Epic store, summary of changes
    - New planet types: primordial and crystalline
    - Capital ships now need 3 exotics instead of 2, 3:55
    - Excavation yields guaranteed exotics 4:02
    - New soundtrack sounds amazing 2:54; new skyboxes are breathtaking
    - Planet upgrade option order changed
    - Exotic now display as a preview rather a count
    However I still observed limitations
    - No new non-planet non-asteroid gravity well types observed 11:32
    - Alas 9:17 Extreme xenophobia tech still shows +0.0

    I hope we can blow up planets again Stardock! I also miss the Vasari's Big Magnum haha. Their superweapon I mean, that thing was cool. 😃

      August for the steam release is the plan, though it is already available on epic.

      I bought it on epic last year but just going to buy it again on steam when it drops.

    Love everything so far. Only thing I think is needed is repeatable research and the ability to add repeatable and pages of research for modding. So we can tinker absurd tech trees. Also, pirates are too weak and docile.

    Sins 1 is one of the best games I've ever played, and it's extremely exciting to see a Sins 2 developing ...
    The only one thing that I wanted to complain about for long time, and just couldn't not to mention anymore, is the UI we see in Sins 2, it looks, how do I put it, like a sad weather, boring in a way, this blue color interface ... I wish you could give us options to change the color at least (I don't understand why games don't make the UI more customizable in general!)
    Anyway, I will be complaining about this a lot, but hopefully the gameplay and its complexity will compensate got that (Sins 1 was awesome with much better/nicer UI in my opinion)

    Why limiting the number of development we can do on a planet? I think this decision is pretty stupid ! Not limiting them could be life changing to players who have most of their planets conquered by the enemy and allow a come back... This will need to be moded if devs refuse to change this.
    This is the main problem of those types of games, if you're losing, that's it, you're done and there's no way to come back, you can only watch your opponent destroy you.

      No 4X game features infinite scaling of your economy like that, for a start you need to consider the limitations of the computer before you even consider how broken that makes the gameplay. Once someone starts to get slightly ahead, there's no limit to how far ahead they can race, which immediately limits the gameplay to racing for the economic techs.
      The last statement sounds like wisdom but the problem is that there's a fuzzy line delineating when one player thinks they're losing compared to someone else. Playing with that delineation is exactly why these kinds of games are fun to play against one another, and it's the reason you aren't immediately booted out of the game the first time an unseen counter hits a limit you're unaware of.
      Being able to determine if you're losing or not is a skill, and Sins II gives the players many, many tools to overcome many situations that look bleak, providing that they have a good grasp of the game mechanics.
