I'd be interested in seeing an uncut game, even just a short one, to see how fast (or slow) play really is.
Really glad I have finally taken the time to properly get to grips with this game after full release.
I think it speaks volumes that a player that makes sound decisions still can get (temporarily) overwhelmed by something the game throws at them.
Yeah this game in essence is a lot like Arrakis. You get a bland tutorial that doesn’t prepare you for the dangers of the game at all.
Only for you to figure everything out and then eventually become the danger; like Paul did with the Fedaykin. Or his son with the Trout Symbiote
My computer died right before it’s final release….I’m just gonna watch the movie and listen to the audiobook during my workday. Really glad I found your channel during your latest EU4 Austria play through.
Not bother, Villanue Dune is barren, completely devoid of any world building or factions that this game have, it surprising that the game developers did a better job that the director of the movie that they are based their game.

I have to laugh at Pravus being offended the Harkonnen forces have to turtle behind defences and are underpowered compared to fremen in a Dune game.
Dude, your contesting them over their own territory, literally what the Harkonen never managed to do, even at their height!

Is hard to believe that this game is way better than the movie was based on, this game does more work in the world building and the factions than Villanue vision of Dune, hell, it have the freaking Corrino has a faction.

@@yersiniapestis5237 Basically is a mesh between the Villanue version and the miniseries, because include two factions that till now aren't in the movies, like the House Corrino, and another one that was destroyed between the intrigue between nobles houses before the beginning of Dune, House Ecaz, they were nearly associated with the Artreides, but then the bride was killed in the wedding day with Leto.

Harkonen seem kinda weak to me, like..... the fremen have the fedakyn, the atreides have great synergies with each other, the emperor has milions of conscripts and the artillery drone, the smugglers have poison and snipers...... but what do the Harkonnen have? Intrigue? not relly, resources? only a tiny ammount more than with no buffs, weaknesses? Yeah they do have those....
Dunno mabye i just dont know how toplay them, but it seems the weakest faction to me.
a horde of cerberus on combat drugs can tear through armies fast, especially when backed up with harpies to destroy enemy armor. Also the fact you can get a good chunk of the cost back of any of your units that die is icing on the cake. You have near expendable armies that can be thrown at the enemy constantly, the only limitation is manpower which should be your main focus. You should always have the numerical advantage as a Harkonnen player, somethings that's easy to achieve with them. Other factions can't afford to lose experienced and expensive troops, you can lose a ton and bounce back just as strong.

I keep seeing this game and I want to like it, but damn it just feels boring.
Pravus can make it seem neat, sure, but the game play itself does not engage.
When oppressing the peasants isn't fun, something has gone wrong! XD

Choices and options being miniscule or bare bones, thematic designs wearing thin rapidly as they don't cover up that there just isn't much to the game, limited choices in comparison to comparable strategy games (Civ, AOE, HOI/EU, etc). Clunky combat and interface. Not that great feedback during gameplay.
The shorthand would be simply it is barebones, clunky, and unengaging.
It isn't the worst, it simply does worse what other games do better and with less options.
It reminds me of Ozymandias. Is it a bad game? No! Does it scratch the 4X itch? No. Is it completely overshadowed by Civ? Yes.

to bad conquest is such a dissapointment and you dont have to actually play the game to win conquest its just a basic economy sim
I was pleasantly surprised by the variety in it though. I think it’s strongest on your first playthrough because there’s so many features that you have to discover on your own.
Too bad your take sucks and you don't actually have any support than just what you think.
To bad that this game always crashes when i load my map . I tried everything and still nothing.

With what they did to house Icaz and how they treated fans who pushed back on that, I will never buy the game except, maybe, on 90% sale.
You talk as if the Ecaz house was the most important in the entire Dune saga, when in reality it is barely mentioned in the main books. If they had changed the Atreides or the Harkonnens I would understand that reaction, but those houses are perfectly re-presented in the game.

Seeing more and more of the game makes me sad. This is not Dune, whoever made this had no idea how that world works.
It’s almost like it’s a videogame adaptation and they have to change some aspects to make it an actual game

I'm really tired of these games desperately trying to look like Civ6......It was never pretty.
Game is disappointing. No actual campaign - just poor cousin of civ. With no actual turns.
This. It's not a bad game, I guess, but every time I see it, it feels like it is a shallow imitation of other games elements mashed together to make something less than its parts.
