I will join your group as I feel you are one of the most patient and knowledgeable people I’ve run across having been doing this since 2016. I quickly moved from vinyl to sublimation when I began but I’m finding more possibilities with silhouette to expand the offerings in my business. I use the software daily even though I don’t always use the machine. It is amazingly robust for free! I look forward to honing my skills in both with the help of you and your members.

That's the problem with Silhouette. I love the machines and they generally work great but if you have problems you cannot get help from Silhouette. They think they can fix a problem with email. Not gonna happen. So no, you are saying find a support group and wait around for help or depend on someone else to help you. I maintain that if Silhouette wants to sell these machines, they should have trained help when needed. I have two silhouette machines and am thinking about #5, but I have to think hard about the non-support you get from Silhouette to the purchase price and use of the machine.
Well, I'm not sure if you've already did another video regarding the miss cuts.. but I'm DEFINITELY having issues, I've got the Cameo 5 and I did the tips you suggested here, and its still not pulling my mat in nowhere near enough! ugh.. I'm about over this!! My Cameo 2 is sounding better and better ... sadly!! I just joined your FB group... maybe I can figure out what's wrong?? I'm going to look for other videos you may have about this... thanks!!
My Brand new machine has not problems cutting but the first time I click test it cut the top of the mat outside the area of cutting / Vinyl. now I am very concern of trying again :) I wander why it cut there. Ps, thanks for sharing .
Do you have your page set up for a mat? If it is set to no mat, it will cut higher. You can also use the arrows on the control panel or in the software to adjust where it will start to cut.
yes the machine is set for the mat I am using but no so sure how to do this.. "use the arrows on the control panel to adjust where is going to cut. but no big deal I learn to place a small square at a lower spot to used as a test cut.. thanks.
my machine is not auto adjusting to cut, if I manually adjust it works. I have tried all your steps and it still does not work. When the machine is auto tapping down it does not seem to tap hard or deep enough to move the red line. my check cross cutter light is also on and I have removed it and reinstalled it. My machine will work if I manually adjust the blade and cut on manual so I dont think it is the blade.
If you have done everything in the video, I would try a new blade. If that doesn't help, then you will probably need to contact Silhouette support through the website. It helps to include pictures or a short video of the issue in the initial email. Is your machine still under warranty? Have you used any other blades?

I bought it in Feb 2023, i have only used it a few times because I found it hard to understand and I use my cricut. Thanks
hello mines not working via bluetooth sent back to have it repaired and they said it's the app and not the machine so sent it back to me, i have now tried it on 2 mac's and a windows pc and still not cutting 😢
That is definitely frustrating. I can't help with the Mac, but what Windows are you running? If it is Windows 11, there is an extra step. A dialog box pops up, then goes to the task bar. I've missed it a few times and had to look for it. Lol. Is the blue light flashing on the machine when you try to connect?
hello and thanks for getting back , i mange to connect via bluetooth now but it's not cutting the image i'm sending just cuts in stright lines but now the cutter isn't cutting at all its cutting the test cut but not the image as the autoblade isn't moving , i have spoke to the supplier and they have said it's the go app and there's nothing they can do ie my problem ,😢 i should have stayed with the 4 as that machine was flawless , there's no updates for then 5 in the u.k.
@glensebastian803 oh! The app isn't great. I misunderstood that part. The full software version works well for Windows or Mac, but I won't even attempt the app. It was supposed to get updated, and as of yet, it hasn't been.
thanks for getting back i found the app flawless in the cameo 4 as straight svg from my mac to phone but the 5 isn't working with it at all and not on mac and i windows pc the blades not working at all , think we are well behind on the software over here ,

@@meekooreviewsthat is a lot of cutting, but they should last longer than that if you're only cutting vinyl. Is it cutting into the backing at all? Can you increase the blade depth when it starts to wear out?
@@silhouettesuccess i tried increasing the depth also , but nothing works. And here in Pakistan, these blades are very expensive as compared to that available on amazon. Local vendors charge extra and if we order from Amazon, it takes too long to get delivered.
I just bought the new Silhouette Cameo 5 and it’s a big waste of money. It’s not user friendly, the auto blade sucks, and you have to try and pair the machine each time you turn it on. I have the Business Edition software and there are no free files included in the library. I own other cutting machines and have never experienced the headaches that I have with this brand. I actually bought the machine for the foil heat feature but since I have to pair each time I turn it on I decided to wait. I ordered a USB so I can actually use it. All the tutorials on TH-cam don’t really address these issues.

Have you tried a carriage reset? Is the firmware up to date?

I'm cutting a bunch of texts on vinyl, stickers and also some stuff on cardboard for my wedding decoration.. so a variety of material 😁

I feel like I keep buying the wrong blades all mine are round at the top so they wiggle around in the machine instead of having that flat back
The blades for the cameo 3 were rounded. That is an older model. 😪 I've done that before.

Why do we have to buy a new autoblade every other month? It's so frustrating
They really shouldn't dull that fast. Mine last about 6 months. What materials are you cutting, and how much use do they get?
