I've always accepted AP's products as 'close enough'. 100% accuracy is absolutely something to strive for, but is likely impossible. Though going to get better motor sounds would help with the immersion, now that Covid restrictions are letting up, it's immersive enough for me. Making a brand new Electrostar model from scratch would take time and money to create, hence why AP uses the existing London-Brighton/Chatham Mainline model and gets Gu to change bits of it. Not to mention Richard has stated in the past that he has a passion for the old slamdoor units, hence the excruciating detail that went into the 411/412. He mentioned on an ATS stream a while back that if he had the money to do another pack like the 411 again, he'd probably do the 421/423 next, something I don't blame him for as I love the old slammers too.
Honestly mate, with regards to the motor sounds, there are so many videos on the Internet to use as motor sound reference . The most annoying this is despite sounding really warped and uncelar , the worst part is that it isn't consistent, for example you can here the motors from 1mph to 100mph consistently. Whereas in the game, yhe Motor sounds are ghost like...blending into the track run sounds. In reality motors are very audible, listen to every electrostar video on the Internet. The motors are a big part of what makes electrostars stand out.
The thing is someone has already made a complete model of the Electrostar family from 377, 387, 375, 379 and the 377/7 an he also made new Pantograph's for every variant.
@@Speedster-jw7qx yeah true but they normally include liveries for trains, even if the route doesn't exist. Or they used to. Good because it means future=proofing
Yawwie was super spot on with older gen electrostars motor sounds vs modern electrostar sounds, firstly the modern electrostars are much more audiable , they are consistantly louder, and they have slight different noises. But one similarity they share with older electrostrs have with newer ones, is that the motors are both consistent from low speed to high speed. My criticisms, the motor sounds are decent , they actually re appear at 75mph mph only on the ep 2, in reality they can be heard consistently from 1mph to 110mph consistently, in game you can clearly hear how AP just blended them with the track run sounds to have an excuse not to create the entire sound sequence, as an electrostar fan,...its not that hard to hear them in real life, there are so many online examples of videos to use as sound references, the motors are quiet but very very audible. I really wanted them to re do them and make them properly audiable. If they do a juniper pack, I do hope they don't just make the same mistake as blending the motor sounds with the track run sounds, that will piss me off heavily, juniper motors are even. More audible than electrostars , esspecially class 334s, they are LOUD!! With regards to the compressor sounds and the "hiss' at the end. They even missed that out on the class 365s ep, the class 365 in reality have a random hissing sound I'm assuming that just releases air. With regards to the
No route for 357 (yet) and a suitable route for the 376 is non-existent and I doubt will come into Train Simulator anytime soon (which is sad because that’s my local)
They didn't include the Heathrow express because it would require making a different cab as the Heathrow express even more different than their "387" cab as it uses ETCS level 2 so the cab is just comprised of a giant screen with a speedometer and some ETCS stuff I know I was shocked by a lack of Heathrow express as well but that's the reason why its missing. So yes your right if they included it it may bump up the price
The dynamic breaking is more less the same:th-cam.com/video/iY7F8uS2bA8/w-d-xo.html but in the older trains you can hear the squeak. Also I think you might be pitch perfect. My issue is mainly with the metro electrostars that being the class 378. The departing noise should literally be one octave higher than the conventional electrostars.
With the Class 379 Electrostars. Perhaps Great Northern or Heathrow Express should inherit them to work with the Class 387. Or Great Western Railway can have some of the Class 379s and some to Great Northern and the Class 387/3s cascaded from c2c to be cascaded to Gatwick Express or Heathrow Express or Southern.
And as you mentioned about the traction motors on the newer electrostars. It’s actually from IGBT-VVVF (Bombardier MITRAC DR1000). Which sounds bit deeper than the older electrostars.
What liveries do you all like? I like the Gatwick express and the ex Gatwick express and the Heathrow Express (it’s not included but he showed it when he said they didn’t add that livery)
