I hope this video helps all of you looking to jump higher, coming very soon will be some jump training videos with workouts that helped me jump higher back in college. Believe it or not I was 200 pounds (gained weight after 2 knee surgeries) and before those I was able to dunk consistently. This summer is going to be amazing and I will be making tons of workout videos to help you become a better Basketball player and for myself to loose this weight.
Im 6"1 and 36 could dunk/touch ring till around 26 then stopped playing sports (bad knee) trying to get back there before its too late , i go down and shoot hoops for 2 hrs after work , step ups, standing jumps etc , what more should i do / cant put too much pressure on my jumping (left) knee , i could never jump as high off both feet , any input would be great , cheers im also 90 kg now at 26 i was 75kg also
Step ups, standing jumps, are good... I would add in squats, squat jumps, lunges, lunge jumps, toe hops, skipping, 1 foot hops, foot speed drills, and periods of sprinting. If you have weights I would do shoulder raises as well for momentum. Next I would do core exercises like 1 handed/2 handed planks, back extensions, and leg raises if you have something to hold on to. You should be able to dunk again, at 200 pounds (90kg) and 6'1 you should be able to get up there eventually. I know everyone is different but I am 295 pounds (135kg) and I still can touch rim with my finger tips. What type of knee injury did you have? I had ACL, MCL, and Meniscus tear and had 2 surgeries (I could dunk before this and I was 210 pounds, I am also 6'2 (only one inch taller than you). Here is a vertical jump playlist for you th-cam.com/play/PLO5DgInYakGYT-vh9TrI6VvB0OmG1sGwT.html
@@bballcoachallen thanks heaps...I dislocated my Left patella(knee) (15 years ago)/causing tiny piece of bone to chip off also, Im lucky to not tear anything as I could walk on it after two weeks without surgery but as you might know once it happens the first time it is quite easy to knock out again( happened x3 more )but dosnt swell up like the first time it pops out to the side and then snaps back in , and hurts for some hours (sounds bad i know ha ha ), Only thing im able to do is build up other muscles in my legs so it helps take the load , but I worry as its my jumping leg, but ill get there mate 👍
I was lucky it was my right knee which is not my jumping knee, I am also a one leg jumper. I jump off my left leg. I have arthritis now and you probably do as well. I no longer drive to the rim unless I have an open lane. I am too afraid to damage it again because the pain is insane. I stick to jumpers and open layups (maybe one day open dunks).
@@bballcoachallen yeah cold weather seems to give me knee pain(in left). It seems old knee type injuries get you when your doing mundane daily things like going the letterbox or getting out of the car , I just wanted to try and do it again while I might still be able to you know, thanks for your time , ive only been at it a month ill let you know if I get to my goal of at least dunking with a size 5 ha , onya mate
Guys if your shoulders caused 5% of your vertical, and u worked ur shoulders you would only gain like 1 or 2% because it’s not like ur muscles start from scratch they are there, just not very strong yet just an fyi

good point, I think thats what I said or at least meant... but even 1% can mean the different from a dunk or not
Even an inch of extra vertical would make your jumps feel alot higher cause your hang time would increase by a bit. Every inch counts!
I’m already in the mid 40s for vert without any training
nice
@@bballcoachallen can you check out some of my dunks
nice hops! those 10 foot rims? ... looks like you have some crazy jumping ability!
@@bballcoachallen yes the video where I had the pink socks on the goal was 10’3
nice work!
but does this momentum out weigh the weight of the muscle
Yes, we have seen this with many players like Dwight Howard and OG Anunoby
To the Tik Tok ad. NO
lol
