Even if youre on 500+ you will still be hyped when people hit 100 as their PR

Normally yes you should control the weight back down. However, during a PR, it can raise the risk of injury. Most injuries happen during the eccentric loading phase and unlike squats and bench press you can just get rid of it entirely on a deadlift.

Exactly this, I'm in decent shape and decently strong but nothing special, yet a couple of months ago I was deadlifting and a new kid in the gym picked me out to ask for advice on how he should proceed with his fitness journey. So between my sets I chatted with him about how I train and why, and told him to basically learn the compound lifts, build up a decent base of strength then decide where to go from there. I see him around every now and then and always enquire as to how his training is going and he says he's really enjoying it and thanks for the help when he first started.

And then one day, I saw a kid do a super bad technique and form execution on 200, and I KNOW your never suppose to do copy cat people around you. But just something in me was screaming "you can do that, and with correct technique". So I tried out 200 lbs, and was able to rep it 4 times.
