- I review my new (to me) Tudor Black Bay GMT (M79830RB-0001) with its striking matte black dial, Pepsi bezel, and its oyster-like bracelet. Time has passed since its release and they are starting to flood the secondary market at significant discounts. I also discuss the value proposition presented by this watch vs the Rolex GMT Master II.
The Tudor Black Bay line embodies the brand's signature aesthetic of understated elegance and robust construction. Tudor is a sister company of Rolex and shares many design elements with the iconic luxury brand. However, Tudor watches are generally more affordable and accessible than Rolex.

I just bought the newest Black Bay 41 with burgundy bezel and jubilee bracelet. It is as good as any Rolex out there for less than half the retail price! You are right, Rolex has become too exclusive and elusive for most people and Tudor is now what Rolex used to be. I’m happy with the Tudor and honestly, I’m just tired of the whole Rolex ridiculousness!

Beauty! And I feel the 'dumbest' criticism is the rivets on the bracelet being 'bad' - I love that architectural/structural detail - others may not - but it is a matter of taste and style, not a negative!

I bought my Tudor BB GMT 3 years ago. I'm wearing it 4, 5 days a week and still I really love it. Everything works perfectly, it's in perfect condition and I'm really happy with it in every single way.
I don't care about some people say, you can find stupid comments everywhere about everything.

The Tudor GMT is an outstanding watch. You were able to find a great price on the pre-owned market for it. Very sharp watch on the wrist. Dress it up-dress it down. Looks outstanding on the Tudor leather strap/clasp as well.
This is literally the most accurate automatic watch I have ever owned. +1/-1 sec per day is avg. Some days have been 0/0. Very well done.
You're correct about the 48 click bezel. Its because some areas require half hour adjustments. That inflation calculation you did says it all about the Rolex hype factor! Great video!
I don't understand how people pay over retail for a Rolex. Personally, I don't like even like paying retail for most of my watches. There are so many interesting watches that can be had for far less.
Great honest review. I love my gmt and even more now as I changed the bracelet for an uncle seiko jubilee one. Lighter and so much more comfortable. I also have the Tudor nato strap which is really comfy. Keep up the great work 👏

Tudor has been killing it the last couple years. They just came out with a gmt coke and last year came out with a white dial gmt. Glad you like this watch I’m thinking about getting the white dial gmt or the coke just haven’t seen the coke in person yet.

In CA you're almost guaranteed to get robbed if you're wearing a Rolex sooner or later.
I have heard people buy the real thing and keep it in a safe and wall around with a superclone.

Or buy yourself a Q Timex GMT stainless steel bracelet which looks very very similar to your Tudor with a Swiss movement for 200 USD and stop complaining that I won't be able to buy a Rolex and trying to convince yourself that your Tudor is Okay!!! Bottom line, you want a luxury status swiss watch but can't afford it. That's sad😢

I believe anyone who chooses to spend $5,000 on a Tudor GMT can comfortably buy whatever watch he would like to own. Many Tudor owners have a number of high end watches in addition to their Tudors.
