- Great Retro video of long-time Arai wearer 'Fast' Freddie Spencer. This video shows a 1984 Honda 500GP racebike Vs a 700cc Honda Sabre Vs 200HP 300ZX Turbo at Laguna Seca.
Love the way Freddie is still putting his Arai on when the others have set off!
We still sell a great deal of Freddie Spencer replicas - check them out on:

yes! those two strokes were insane!
That was mad....Freddie calmly puts on his helmet and gloves, mounts his bike and takes off on COLD TYRES...pops big wheelies and wins too. Serious respect to Freddie on his Honda.Nuff said.
Cold tyres doesn’t mean shit when they were plastic to begin with.
Revisiting after 11years.
Easily the coolest comparison on just how fast those racers are. Freddie was incredible
Imagine if the car got 10 second head start , there is no way Freddie can beat the car. It's just a simple Maths for TV entertainment.
Bollocks, if Kenny Roberts started at the same time, Kenny would have won easy. A much better rider.
@@princesssolace4337he would easily pull back 10 seconds over a lap.
The car had a more than 10 sec head start you fool@@princesssolace4337
Man, decades later and still coool.
Freddie Spencer. The greatest motorcycle racer of all time. Apart from Burt Munro.
Wow great to see Freddie again, some racer that lad was .
Thanks for posting! Awesome to see a Sabre at Laguna Seca!!
Freddy playing cat and mouse! 😂
Watching it again after many years
Loved this! That was awesome fun to watch 😁
Awesome! Thanks. Those wheelies made it even better didn’t they?
Awesome and no electronics
pretty sure all of these have some form of electronics. Especially the 300ZX. The electronic gauge cluster was one of the biggest parts of its appeal.
Too fnn Cool.
500, son.
Song name please? Shazam wont do it this time. :(
Andy Clark world beater I believe
What was the name of this TV show?
fugged up, he caught them BEFORE the straight, still had over a quarter mile to go
Haha bike too off and Freddie didn't even have his helmet on
Tops
30 second lead 2 mile track that's impossible to catch
This is no fair to Street bike it is 4 stroke , they need to place street 2 stroke bike something like RGV or RD 500cc ....
*Agree RG500 C Series Pepsi Suzuki !*
@@GrrMeister RG500 was slow as fuck, it also didn't exist in 1984 you idiots.
@@MrKdr500 Suzuki RG 500 was a Japanese road racing motorcycle manufactured by Suzuki which competed in the 500cc class of Grand Prix motorcycle racing from 1974 to ...
They're just trying to give people some perspective, but I agree. Nobody would take a Sabre to a race track.
Aww man, at least put a fast street bike in there. How about a GS 1100?
What they didn't show was the Marlboro Yamaha that gave Freddie a 5 second head start........
Fast Freddie was it
You should find some footage of Mamola on that track in about the same era. You would not believe what you were seeing. How someone could not only control a sliding wobbling bike but actually turn it up several notches with it doing that..@@Joetrout
Try it now days and see what happens...
+MegaErnieMAN bike still wins bro
@@JosephMorganMedia Always bet on bike
lool =) fot this Year its cool, now for today is interesting
If a car does a 1:30 and Freddie can do 1:15 .or less. of course the car would get a 15 second head start.
The objective here is where Freddie needs to overtake for dramatic finish.
That 1983 Z is not going to do a 1:30 though (closer to a 2:15 or so) and Freddie will be within a tick of todays times. Lap times of GP bikes at Laguna only dropped about 4 seconds over the years (on the hew layout . . Lawson was doing 1:25's to win the first USGP and Lorenzo's lap record is a 1:20 but that was in practice they were doing like 1:22's in the race, superbikes have caught up so it would be awesome to get MotoGP back to see what they can do now). Bottom line, this was exaggerated but not by very much..
Fuzzy and crap.
You realize this is 1980s low quality video right? Idiot.
