      I live in Virginia, so probably like your state, we can't just rely on the tuner blocking the errors cause it's really just shutting off a pair of sensors that the emissions inspector looks for. If those aren't reporting, you automatically fail.

      I did the PRL cold air and got the Injen HydroShield Water Repellant Pre-Filter for some extra security, the biggest thing is to simply not drive through standing water, the filter on the PRL sits in front of the tire on the driverside, so the wheel well blocks the tire from slinging water on it and the bumper surrounds the other sides, honestly I don't see how water could get to it unless you drove through water deep enough to get the filter submerged or blasted the area with a pressure water at just the right angle. I've had it on the car about 5 months now, which is several thousand miles and even a few pretty good rain storms at this point.

    • @DanielRichards644
      @DanielRichards644 ปีที่แล้ว

      Canada spec civics got a different coolant res for some reason, so it has to be moved because it blocks the path of the intake.

    Do you get a rattle noise with the w1 turbo like anything before 3000k rpm? Sounds like either the cotter pin or the waste gate arm because the arm is loose regardless.

    • @diptarupghosh4431
      @diptarupghosh4431 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Civics use CVT autos, they don't have clutches but rather torque converter. And for these cars , the cvt civics u don't wanna push more than around 260-270 wheel torque...so for the cvt civic , get intake, exhaust and Ktuner with phearable 1.5 tune for non si and thats about it for power. U can also get a intercooler and a cvt oil cooler to support ur power mods better and for better consistency

      @donovansimison9336 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes you can, before u get a bigger turbo make sure to go get a cvt cooler. 2step performance has one. Heat is ur cvts biggest enemy. And make sure you don’t drag race from a dig. Roll races are way safer. Phearable is the smoothest and safest non custom tune for our cvts (I have a civic touring)

      You could always get a CAI and do a hydro shield but if you want to be extremely safe go with a short ram. 27won makes a great kit also

      Short ram is terrible bc of heat soak. If you are worried about water get an oil catch can.

    I did the PRL cold air intake with street maf on my daily 2016 EX-T (with the CVT), definitely more of a sound change then anything else, maybe there is a little more power but not much, but now that winter is over i'm noticing something, i've gotten back the fuel mileage I had before I did my 19" wheels, so I gained like 1-1.5 MPG. This has also convinced me of something, these cars should have come from the factory with a block heater, this little 1.5 takes forever to warm up when it's near freezing outside and that is massively killing it's fuel mileage, like 10% less fuel economy in the winter (note these are calculated tank MPG averages based on miles driven divided by gallons to refill at the same pump at the same gas station, not the dash calculated that I find to be anywhere from 1-3 MPG higher).
    i'd like to get a little more performance out of the car but don't wanna do a tune because all the tunes require premium fuel and this is a daily and I don't wanna cost myself 100's more in annual fuel costs, kinda defeats the purpose of buying a civic to daily IMHO.
