A couple of pointers, the way quests progress the table is always 1-1-2, you just have to keep in mind which quest is 2 tables, then it will always be followed by 1-1-2 again. Let's say that the decoration you want is on the 2nd table but your next quest progress the table by 2, all you need to do is buy the first jewel of a spire sorcery costing you 12 points instead of 36 to move the table down one, then proceed to do your Strange Stream. Hope that helps
@Will Yap Well you dont always know you start at 1-1-2, you could be in the middle so your next quest would advance by 2. You need to see where you are in the pattern first.
@Will Yap I think you have to do a quest, then meld and check against your list to see how many it skipped. You will have to do it at least twice unless it skips 2 on the first quest completed.
For Xbox: 1. While connected to Xbox live, start your game, meld decorations until you find the one you want (like in the video). 2.Take note of the "location" of the gem (nth gem in y set) 3. WITHOUT closing the game, press the Xbox button, go over to settings>network>network settings; select "Go offline." 4.While offline, quit the game (on your Xbox, not from in game where it returns you to title screen) 5.Hit the menu button while on MHW (before you start it up) and select "Manage game." 6.Go down to "Saved data" select your save data and select "Delete from console" 7.REPEAT step 3 but this time select "Go online" (it should have replaced go offline anyways) 8.Launch MHW, Xbox should automatically sync your online data to your console restoring your save from before you melded. 9.Do quests to get to the correct set, meld for the gem, save your game, quit MHW while ONLINE (so your Xbox will sync the save to Xbox live). 10.Go back to step 1
@@savagehyphen01 700 hours. Same problem. JUST got a Spread jewel... I'm just worried... for obvious reasons, but I wonder how bad the risk is. I don't know what I'd do if I lost my Hunter... T_T
This no longer works in iceborne. Quests do not progress the table. Instead (How it works now, as i've tested) everything is pre-determined in one big line. If you meld 1 gem, you move 1 spot, if you meld 3 gems u\ move 3 spots. So for example, you meld twice to map it out. you get [RecUp, PoisonRes, ThundRes] then the next roll you get [EleBoost, IceRes, MindEye]. ((Reload-Save)) Meld one gem, get RecUp, Then meld 3 gems and u will get EleBoost in the last spot.
It follows a 1-1-2 progression. That's why it skips a table sometimes. It always does this and is easy to plan around. You do 3 missions, it's going to skip 4 sets of three.
darkinsanity98473 damn i wanted a jewel and got it after 5th meld so i did 4 quest and saved my data but i didnt get the jewel i think i skipped it, thanks for the info
Just found this out for myself too. I had to get to my 8th meld to get to the decs I wanted. First I did 7 quests and got different decs. Then I did 6 and got different decs again. So I reloaded my save and did one quest then melded and got what was the 3rd set in my table (the skip). Reloaded and did 2 then meld and got the 4th set, then again and did 3 to get the 5th set. Then reloaded and did 4 and got the 7th set of decs. So considering that you would normally meld to get what you wanted, upload your save and then start again, I think it would be more appropriate to say that it does a 2-1-1 progression. Just means that if you want that 6th set, you will have to meld one dec from the 5th and then meld again for the 6th... I think. So happy I worked this out though, cause it was bugging me all day yesterday and I really, really need me 3 mushroomancer decs. And to all the bitches complaining and saying it cheating and all that crap... go screw yourself. I payed alot of money for this game and I will play it however I dam well please!
whoa. thanks for this information XD no wonder i never got that 8th table after 6-7 quests. re-downloaded the save files 3 times thinking i counted wrong.
I have since found that sometimes it doesn't skip with the 4th quest, but if u plan for it to skip on quest 1st, 4th, 7th, and so on, then save when you get to the one you want, you won't lose all the progress you made. I have been questing, then saving and then melding to see where I am at in the list. Sometimes it is dead on, but sometimes it is one or 2 behind depend on how many melds I have had to make. I hope this helps :-)
I think most of the salt are from people who are falling into a sunk cost fallacy - They spent 100s of hours legitimately trying to farm the one jewel they want, so they have to justify their time spent. The easiest way to do that is to delegitimize this method by taking a moral high ground. Let me deconstruct that reasoning and explain why it's wrong. Incoming essay warning. I tried to touch on the most repeated points I’ve seen. In no particular order: 1. "This is a grinding game, you're cheating by not grinding" - No it's not. There's no threshold of required grinding hours you need to meet before you're allowed to enjoy the game. It's a colloquial term used to describe the game, not an official genre. So saying "it's an X type of game so you HAVE to do X, you can ONLY have fun if you do X, you’re not a real player if you don’t do X", etc. is only forcing your own viewpoints down other people's throats. 2. Jewels by themselves are an accessory to the overall package that is a person's skill level -- That is to say, jewels can't carry you in this game. You can have all Rarity 8 Jewels equipped and you're still going to get carted if you suck. You’re grasping at straws if you think any accusations towards a person’s skill level holds any weight just because they used this method. 3. There is NO VICTIM to this method. It’s a PvE game. It’ll only help YOU if you run into players with decked out jewels who obtained them using this method. 4. Retouching on the point of “grinding game”. Many players in this game have real, full-time life commitments that they have to attend to. Work (and I mean REAL work, not a part-time, school, etc.), family, friends, relationships. It’s easy to take the high ground and think you’re better than others when you can commit the majority of your day committed to grinding jewels, but most people don’t have that luxury. Being allowed to enjoy the game and being allowed to attend to their life are not mutually exclusive - One shouldn’t have to sacrifice one for the other, especially given that it’s a PvE game with no negative impact on anyone. “Then don’t play a grinding game” - See point 1. 5. “It’s a hack/cheat” - No it’s not. An exploit, perhaps, that’s a gray area, but I will say this - The net results of using this method is no different than grinding legitimately. Using this method doesn’t let you use Level 3 jewels on a Level 1 slot, it doesn’t let you modify Jewels to behave like other jewels, it doesn’t modify numbers, it doesn’t give you crazy jewels like God mode or 1HKO. You’re not modifying save files, or toying with algorithms to give you the exact jewel you want every time; It doesn’t do anything that you can’t already do in-game. Literally the ONLY thing that changes as a result of using this method is shaving a couple [hundred] hours off your playing time. In conclusion - If you’d rather spend 200 hours getting 3 Critical Boosts legitimately, than that is your prerogative, but given that this method is both victimless AND has such a small impact on the grand scale of things, there’s no reason for why people should be this upset, other than being lowkey jealous that they wasted 200 hours getting their jewels, versus 20. Personally, I’m at 320 hours. I love this game, it’s a lot of fun and I enjoy it greatly, but I’ll be damned if I’m going to spend the next 200 hours hunting for jewels. I’d rather go out and hunt some Tempered Elders without the stress of “I hope THIS investigation is going to be the one” for the next 200 hours. But if that little excitement every time you run the RNG-slot at the end of every quest is fun, then more power to you. Just understand that most people don’t have that level of patience, and rightly so.
I wont use this but honestly i think hey were perfectly reasonable im rouphly 300 or so hours in and i STILL havent managed to get a capacty jewel and i main CB and lemme tell ya im pretty sick of looking at those dodogama greaves, as far as exploits in games go on the grand scale this is pretty harmless and at least imo looks pretty boring to do
Mikozee i might use this method for the pierce jewel, after hundreds of hours of legitimate farming, I have over 16 critical boost jewels but no pierce jewel. Need it for a few sets.
I mean at least this is legitimate farming still but being a pc player I’m probably just going to download a mod to give me all the jewels because in all honesty after playing for 100 hours in two weeks I have zero desire to grind for jewels for a mainly single player experience. I want to play the game but I mean with only 26ish actually original monsters and the fact that end game is grinding 6 of them does not make me want to put hundreds of hours into fighting the same 6 missions countless times praying on a system that’s there just to forcibly extend gameplay.
I didn't read your light novel, because there is no need to discuss that he is exploiting the game. If the heavy grind is not your type of game i am sorry for you.
Haha thank you for this, this is the same method we used in MHFU with rusty relics to polish a rare weapon from, it's nice to see the same tricks work.
I love the way people say they prefer grinding, this IS grinding just of a different kind XD I actually think its easier just to simply fight the tempered elders lol
h2thaog yep. Tried 1 week ago. Also, failed quest count just like a successful one. And you can save your data on ps4 in a flash drive instead of the ps plus feature stuff. Happy hunting
Does people's complain affect your play? Don't bother with other's opinion. Just play the game the way you want to play it. You use your own money to buy it not theirs.
So he says until hacked items are in the game ruining it for everyone. Simple as this he bought the game he played the game It's HIS CHOICE to want the best of the best. No one is forcing him to grind. If he can't farm tempers then his journey is over. I'm sure he enjoyed it up to that point but guess what luck, the reason why people complain about this exploit._..THE GAME IS NOTHING BUT GRINDING from here on out. Like I said early no one is forcing him to finish his set but his own psychology . Explain to me why I didn't have everything from the second i started the game Do keep in mind it's MY GAME AND THAT IS HOW I WANTED TO PLAY IT. That reasoning holds no merit when presented like that, does it?
Thank you so much for this! I tried this method to look at my next 20 tables and the Magazine Jewel for Capacity Boost came up on #19. After 259 hrs I can finally end my grind for perfecting my Charge Blade set.
People in this comment section need to realize that this is a PVE game, what you do and what I do are totally different things. I personally won't use this exploit, but I know others will, and that's Okay play the way you want.
So I'll let you know when me and 2 of my friends have hacked items that can 1 hit sleep elders. We can play with you for 2 hours. Then tell me how much fun you had remember it's our game and that's how we want to play. Doesn't sound very fun does it? Pointless throwing up an S.O.S when a hack weapon will be coming in. Another thought following your reasoning, why didn't I have everything from the start, that's how I want to play after all. Simple the game has rules. That reasoning really has no merit when you stop and think about it. Actually sounds like you are trying to stay neutral but yet justify someone cheating the system. I'm sure you're a great person but your comment paints a different picture (ie justified a cheat (exploit) really one in the same). I only say that because it's people with that same reasoning or mindset that allow loopholes in real life laws to exist. Happy hunting
Jesse Brown Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't hacked items =/= exploited items? I thought hacked items would be something that's actually game breaking by not following the logic of the game while exploited would be creating items still within the boundaries of the game? I'm saying this because it feels like comparing apples to oranges.
Jesse Brown Exploits are a part of the game, and loading saves to exploit drop tables has been a major thing in Monster Hunter for ages. If Capcom didn't want people doing it, they would have patched it a long time ago. Exploiting a mechanic to get gems slightly faster (this exploit cuts time required to get a specific gem by about 20%, not that huge considering how boring it is to constantly reload saves instead of fighting dragons) isn't the same as hacking a weapon to 1 hit sleep elders for one simple reason: the devs intended you to get that attack boost gem eventually, but they didn't intend you to instantly defeat dragons when joining an SOS because the latter affects the gameplay of other players, while the former doesn't. Me having that one attack gem I need to complete my build, doesn't affect how you play the game and you most likely won't notice it. You joining my mission and 1 shotting the monster, on the contrary does affect how I play because it literally takes away the entire hunting experience. In that sense hacking an OP weapon to instakill monsters is the same as joining a quest then immediately triple carting. Chain stunning Negigante with a charge blade is an exploit too; are you gonna tell people not to do it because it's "cheating"? Of course you won't because that would be absolutely idotic, and seeing how well written your comment was, you don't seem like an idiot.
It worked for me but I experienced the issue he describes at the end of the tutorial. I first determined I needed to complete 4 quests in order to get a Tenderizer jewel, but when I completed them, the meld skipped a table. Repeated it, and again, after 4 quests it skipped. On my third attempt, I completed 3 quests instead and it worked!
This would have been the perfect way to use the Event Arena quest that gives 2--4 decorations for killing a Jag/Girros/Dodo (or any other decoration reward quest you enjoy). Make that your table progression quest and never truly lose resources. Won't be as fast obviously, but you'll be using the time pretty efficiently, especially if you roll a good decoration from the quest rewards.
well its better then getting an attack gem in the first 40hours of play from a quest. then not knowing what you have and melding it cuz its worth 50pts. yeah i melded an attack gem i got as a drop. i have 600hours now and have never seen one since
The tables also advance a full set of 3 if you just meld 1. This is a nice way to get the first decoration in each round of the logging process you described! Hope this helps if you haven’t found this out my experimenting in logging melds.
For Xbox one. 1. Making a Cloud save. Save your game and then go to dashboard and Quit game. Wait 3-5 mins, Your xbox will backup your save automatically if you quit your game and your game is not running in the background. 2. Start game, Go to eldermelder, press home button and go to 'settings' then 'network', 'network settings' and 'go offline' Now write down each meld and see if you get anything good. 3. When you are done, go to dashboard and Quit the game. Then go to 'manage game & add-ons' go to 'save data', click on your save and pick 'Delete from Console' ***Do Not Click 'Delete everywhere'*** 4. Go back to 'network settings' and 'go online'. When you start MW:W it will load your game save from the cloud and then you can Snipe your melds.
IMPORTANT question, sorry but i really need to know, how many times would i need to do a quest if on my tenth ritual there was a gem i wanted? it would be 8 times right since the quest counter goes 1 then 1 then 2?
Just a heads up that this still works fine in the latest 13.50 Iceborn Patch, June 24th 2020. This will probably always work and never be changed. Just like the older Monster Hunter games had a tool you could use by inputting fish you caught to find out what RNG charm table you were on, so you could decide if you want to play the game on that table or start over and try for a better table.
@@MrVonalmocera it does not. They do not reset anymore. They also can't be skipped with sets of 3. You just seem to pull from a long list. The only thing you can do now is just check which ones are coming up. I made a list of what I would receive before the update and after, and even the update itself did not cause any change to the list of what I get. Before Update I made a save that would receive Antidote, Antidote, Vitality, Brace, KO, Blaze, Flawless, Defense, Earplug, Brace, Brace, Earplug, Brace. I loaded my save, did the update, and then checked again after the update and I still received the same decos.
I've got 2 piercing shots, 2 power shots, handicraft, 2 flawless, 4 focus, 7 attack, and a few other s tiers that don't come to mind from grinding. I would trade all of them in if it meant getting a guaranteed bow charge plus. Seriously, 100 tempered elders and I haven't gotten a single one. Wtf.
To be fair, it's less time and effort than it takes to grind it out the hard way. We are circumventing an unfun part of the game so that we can get to the fun stuff
"Circumventing an unfun part of the game." Fighting elder dragons is an "unfun" part of the game?...You farm them for more than just decos. You need them for all types of materials. Sounds like you don't like the game at all. The entire game is just farming monsters...That's why it's called "Monster Hunter." I always find it interesting when people feel the need to cheat in a game that they are playing for fun. It's not a test people. Your life isn't dependent on it. If you don't enjoy playing the game the way it was designed go find something you actually enjoy. smh...
This should also be possible on PC. I haven't unlocked the wyverian ritual yet, but you can effectively emulate a "save state." Copy and move your save file (found in steam/Steam\userdata\\582010 emote) to a safe place. do all the steps shown in the video, and when you need to reload the old save, simply replace the current save file with your backed up copy from before the melding.
I still wish there was a way to *consistently* get gems in-game (i.e. without resorting to exploits and whatnot). I'm fine with grinding, but good lord the RNG is _really_ turning me off to the post-game experience. In a game that otherwise does this kind of thing _right_ it's very off-putting. P.S. the ultra-elitist attitude I see in the comments is also quite the sight to behold. Way to stay mature, people. A lot of us don't have the time and energy to sink hundreds of hours into the endgame. There's no need to get so aggro.
If I had a method like this to get better charms in previous games I would have gladly taken it. Now that there is an option, its time to grind out some decorations!
Anybody remember the good ol days when you were grinding for a Ruby so you could make a Jewel for 4 points of Fast Charge? I miss those days. How we have this. And with the way this game is, you can bet your ass I'm gonna use it
also i need to add that if you have used "return from quest" option, it would not normally skip deco palettes BUT if you did a great hunting quest and killed just ONE big monster and then return, it will count kinda as completed quest and the deco palette will be switched to the next one cuz this happened to me where i was doing the gold crown snipe technique
It not working on me.. i've already try this method but the results are the same, i always got the same decorations every time i download the save data from online storage
Did you advance the tables? That's all this is is finding out what is going to come from melding then skipping ahead to the gem you want without wasting resources.
Subbed! I have been using this list method for a week or so and I can’t seem to find the reason that sometimes it skips 2 times, great video and really well explained, so if helps with something I have found that if you go naked to fight Nergigante at the 8 star quest, you can let yourself kill and end the mission in 1:30 minutes or so, but you skip the 60 seconds of rewards, so basically a little bit faster than the other missions, also you return to camp and skip the “loading mission” part to do it a few times
The quests move through the table in a 2-1-1 progression. So the first quest will skip two, the 2nd skips one, the 3rd skips one, then the forth skips two again and so one. So if you want the decs that the 4th quest skips over you will have to quest 3 times, meld once and then meld again for the decs you wanted.
Myke Playz Of course, nothing will beat the satisfaction to drop the gem you want after a tough fight. But when you played more than 100h and still nothing dropped, you know the rng is fucked up...
This if for people that don't know the difference between an exploit and a cheat. The developers allow you to locally save your game rather than save it on a server. You can simply back up your data do some stuff delete the data and restore it from a back up. That's called an exploit. That's why Bungie don't allow you to save your game locally so you can get better rolls in Destiny 1 and 2. A cheat is if he can manipulate the game and get the gem without all t hat grind. Jesus....😑
Who cares? I can have my little sister play the game for me and that could be considered cheating. It's not like they are killing kittens in a back ally.
The point of the game saving locally is to attract more players, specifically people that don't have internrt or want to play online. NOT to give people an option if they want to exploit.
Ok I've been reading the comment section, and I see so much cancer for an EXPLOIT, not a cheat. This doesn't affect anyone because there is no PVP system in place, so why are y'all complaining? Does it affect your game or your experience? No. So instead of whining let those that choose to do this do it, play the game your own way and have a nice life. This maybe gives a few seconds of advantage, or a minimal power increase, whatever it does. They can't come into your world to ruin it, if anything they can make their own tireless grind easier, and make the game more fun. So please, stop complaining over something that doesn't affect you. We live in a world where everything is wrong, and people get judged for every fucking action. It's childish and ridiculous IMHO. This is just my 2 cents, enjoy your game.
An exploit might just be as bad as cheating since it is an unforseen flaw in their system which is meant to prevent this from happening. N if alot of ppl do this the Monster hunter endgame which is to get the jewels has the online endgame amount of ppl cut which is not a good thing to happen.
So, since its a fixed progression, eventually u would go thru all the tables and it would hav to start over. Theoretically u could record every table and people could easily find out where they sit on it. Granted its the same for everyone and it doesnt change with patches or dlc
Its possible, i havent noticed any repeats but that just might mean the table is huge. In past games there were also multiple different tables you could be put in.
To people complaining, this actually takes more work than mindlessly farming tempered elders until you eventually get your atk jewel at hr 300+. If anything I would rather someone tell me they got their decos from doing this method than using a 3rd party program they spent 20 bucks on and modded their save to give them 999 of everything.
Congratz you make a argument that can very well be used to say the opposite of what you use it for, that are always the best argument. This is true for both "oh it is so much more work" and then go on to explain that it is so much faster... It is still not intended by the Game Design otherwise it would be part of it. As well as "there is a method that i would dislike even more" as if that makes it any better. You know i think getting an arm cut off is nicer then getting slowly drowned under water so i will choose that (obviously this is a extreme example).
LordValzy Save scumming has been a part of games since save states were introduced to gaming. It may not be intended, but it sure as hell is expected. This does not require a third party program to do, it is a flaw in the design of all video games. Exploits like these are unpatchable mainstays. It's like moving your phone's clock forward in a mobile game. If you dislike it, then consider asking to have save data functionality removed altogether by Sony and Microsoft. Until then, you can't blame people for taking a more direct route to get what they want, especially when nobody suffers from it. Hell, save editors are pretty much fine in this game, what are they going to do? Of course people should at least experience the grind to know whether or not they like it, but what if they don't and they just want to experience these hunts a handful of times? Well, they can definitely feel free to do whatever it is they want if it helps them enjoy the game, as long as it doesn't ruin it for anyone else.
I can blame people for whatever i like, even more true if it is a abuse no matter for what reason people can abuse it. Also nobody suffers from it? Suffer is a pretty extreme word for that, how about if there is no influence on your life? Like when i notice that i got some less common decoration and it is uninteresting because others have all decorations at any time anyway. And again, just joining a game with someone who did this abuse means that i get a changed experience to a game without that. "but what if they don't and they just want to experience these hunts a handful of times?" Since there is no reason that forces you to get all possible decorations at a maximum possible, in that case they just won't have them. In order to make that a valid argument you would first have to explain as to why people need to have them, without that it is of no importance.
You can backup saves on Xbox but because the game doesn't auto update after you do certain stuff you can get certain achievements (the zeny one) and reset to get everything you sold back
ive been doing this, and i have been having some fun, making charts and then planning my missions. :D and doing elder dragons for the missions Got 4 great gems so far
I could see this working on Xbox if you've got an external HDD, have the Xbox set to save onto the internal. Then just move the save you want over to the external, then just delete the internal(after youve tested the rituals) and move the external save back to internal and it should work that way. As they are separate saving locations. Unsure if it would work but in theory, it should. You may have to remove the external in between each time, because I'm unsure if the cloud drive would auto update your backed up save on the external. Worth testing.
I dont see how people are getting upset and calling this a cheat. This is actually useful if you are constantly making builds that involve certain skills. Its also useful in case you need stuff that are hard to come by (attack decorations sometimes). Besides, People always try to find Exploits in games, thats just how people are, even if people seeing it as cheating, other people see it as a way to get an edge on making great builds. Plus, it makes it easier to do solo runs against tempered Elder dragons. Yes, they'll be a pain, but it will be less of a pain.
TheDesert Pro For me personally there's two reasons. Reason one, think of it like this, a person can work hard in life and become rich and successful as a result. Another person can do nothing and inherit their fortune. The person who actually worked for their money is going to see the other and think "screw them, they did nothing to deserve it". It's a pretty natural reaction. Reason two, long hours and rare decos resulting in the best builds are what separate the high rank, dedicated players from the rest. Well now that's gone. It was nice having a feeling of accomplishment in that sense. Now any random asshole can get any decos anytime. Just my two cents.
Mighty Dingus i can definitely see the point you're making. Yes most people would look at someone who got the rare decorations by exploiting the game and go 'you dont deserve it' but what if they are just on the internet and saw a build that could help them get a bit better with hunting temper elder dragons, but they need to fight tempered elder dragons to make the build? They wouldn't want to make it because it would be difficult for them. However, the feeling of getting the getting the decorations legit is still there for those who want to do it. This exploit is just a means for those who getting fed up with the hours and hours of grinding and not getting the decoration you need for the build. I think the best way i could sum this up, is that yes, you make some good points, but you can do it legit if you desire to, you dont have to use the exploits. Its as my mother says, there isnt one way to play the game. If you want to farm for hours, go ahead. If you want to exploit it, more power to ya.
TheDesert Pro The feeling of putting in the time changes though. Initially it's, "Yea! I finally did it and gotnthe jewel!", but now it's, "Yea! I finally did it and got the jewel...without using exploits!"...you know what I'm saying? For people who don't use it, there's always that thought in the back of the mind saying somebody got this just by reloading their game. MH is a grinder, the grind is the game. If people don't like the grind I guess I just don't understand why they play it. Or would rather shortcut it.
Mighty Dingus i know the feeling. Most rpgs are grinding games, but some of us find easier ways to grind. And even if they do get the gems, what about the armor? There isnt an easy way to farm that stuff, so even if you have the gems, you still have the other parts. Plus, i can see a use for a veteran of the monster hunter games. If you've already beaten everything, and just want to mess around with builds then this would be useful. In fact, i plan on makin another file and usin this exploit just so i could test builds. So it could be used as a way to help newbies, but it can also help with Veterans testing builds.
Dont do this. Trust me. It does not save any time and the process is way more tedious and boring than you think, actually fighting an elder dragon solo, killing it in around 10 to 15 minutes, (almost the same as it takes you to get the melder reset) you also can get 3-5 stones instead of just 3, you get better at the game, you get materials, you get more zenny, you get chances of gold crowns, and you also get chances of warped stones which the melder cannot do. Need I say more? The thumbnail here is so misleading it is beyond comical. There is no "get any decoration", it is all lies. Its all RNG...the good ol classic terms we all know but hate to admit.
MELDER is not rng it's predetermined, got bored of grinding and got my tenderizer, crit boost, and handicraft gems in an hour. By looking ahead of the table. Had 53 shards and 10 pages of useless gems to throw away and did a quest to move the tables. lot faster than going out and farming investigations and getting crap. Now if i had a bunch of lvl 30 temper investigations with 5+ rewards i'd happily do those...instead on occasion. If only i had them.
remakeme I don't believe just your word. Everyone I play online with has attempted it several times and they all say there is no confirmed chart as people have gone more than 200+ advancements and never got to where they wanted. You are either lying or got extremely lucky (which can happen), but as of right now there is no confirmed list that is charted out. It is pure rng, or else you wouldnt see so many people constantly complaining about the attack or crit boost gems.
In The Beginning He’s saying he used the method of this video to meld a shit ton of times with his tons of useless gems. Recorded the amount of quests he would have to do to get to the gems he wanted. Reloaded his save to get his useless gems back and did the quick quests to meld once for the gem he wanted. As shown and stated outcomes are predetermined so at some point that specific gem you want is in the rng already set up and you can use this method to find that specific string and pull it out of there.
Cyfearal I know. But what I was saying is that it is still rng based and everyones table will be charted out by rng. I have done this and spent hours and found nothing that I wanted. So when this guy in these comments just said he got what he wanted in like 1 hour or so he/she is either lying or got lottery luck.
@In The Beginning Dude, do you know what RNG means? You meld 200 times. You save get your junk back. Then those 200 times your rewards will always be the same... I could have an attack gem, or crit boost gem coming up and i'll never even know it because i'm not melding after every quest, nor do i have enough resources to keep dumping to get what i want. The video SHOWS you the chart, other videos say the same thing. You just don't have what you want in 20 melds, it could be on the 100th one.. it's not gonna go anywhere but you will never know it's the 100th one unless you get lucky and MELD on that one meld. Or two use this exploit and savescum to see whats ahead. It's not complicated. And it's just not MY word, it's the word with video proof of the uploader, and many others... You and your friends are doing something clearly wrong or don't understand the logistics.
This is awsome! Thanks for showing this. It's still a ton of work. I went to that reddit page and downloaded the spreadsheet. Unfortunately it was overwhelming and I gave up on it. Is there any chance you could do a quick tutorial of how the spreadsheet works?
Honestly i still just write it down and do it manually because thats faster for me. The spread sheet is just easier if you cant keep track of the 1, 1, 2 pattern that the quests advance in. Its a little more work but it makes keeping track easier.
Can't believe there are ppl that ether moan about the grind or find ways to cheat, where's the fun? this game is all about the grind enjoy the game not cheat it
Hugo Storm Right? I'm assuming it's more to do with the fact that they can't handle the tempered quests, at least not without the op decos. Otherwise what's the point? Killing the longevity of the game is all they are accomplishing.
Tan Guan Lin like I said that's what the game is about, you get the things early on and the game for you will be boring. I understand 300 plus hours in and not getting what you want can be frustrating but that's what it's all about that's monster Hunter you don't wanna know my hours from the previous games hahahah :)
Well ive been playing for 350hours+ and the decorations RNG is ridiculous. I havent gotten another attack gem besides the one given to you from the quest line
Hr145: in the last 100 hours of farming I didn t get a single decoration that I miss. (And i have less than half the entire collection) IN 100 HOURS, not 10, not 20, but 100. And now even elder melder can t drop new decos, just copies of useless stuff. If this is the way you encourage farming you are doing it wrong. This is even worse than mh4u guild quests
Doesn't seem to work anymore, I needed to get the the 10th table so I did 6 quick quests, checked it with melder, still on 1st table. Melding 1 didnt seem to advance the table either, it just continued to meld whatever was left in that table during the next meld. This worked for me a long time ago but I guess they caught on lol. This might not be a bad thing though, you wont miss anything if the tables aren't advancing anymore.
I don't know if this still is functional or not, but couldn't you just go into any quest and just return from the quest immediately, as it counts for every other thing moving along (Botanical research, trailraider, etc...)
Does melding decorations contribute to progressing your 1,1,2 pattern? As in if you're on the first part of pattern and you meld twice then do a quest, will it then skip 2 tables or 1?
This is basically HOW TO PREDICT THE FUTURE oh and also m8 what is da gem u wanted is in the second or third charm? Do u need to meld three or two if they are in those seconds or thirds or is there an easier way?
What troubles me is that this proves the elder melder is predetermined and not really random and makes me think im better off saving research points and not using it for jewels unless im going to do this.
Thats exactly how it is. I've kept a spreadsheet of every table so far and you can go for runs of 10+ of nothing but trash. Don't waste time with the melder unless you are doing this trick.
I found out after I made the video that it advances in a 1, 1, 2 pattern. so every 3rd quest it skips an extra one. I put it in the description but it was too late to put it in the video.
hey do elder mission always skip multiple jewel melding? only reason i ask is because i screw up and i noticed that when i did temper elder dragon mission it skip 4 rows of melding? not sure if it might had been a glitch on my end.
Ok So I have melded all my gems and went trough 50 tables, didnt find my Bow Charge Plus. So you are telling me, I have to go trough ~36 quest to move all those tables forward and start all over again? Thanks
any idea if melding something other than gems will progress the table? like throwing away some trash great jagras parts to make a herb or something to progress the gem melding table?
Not that i noticed in testing. Doing lesser rituals, like the spire ritual, will though if you just need to meld something to advance the table with less investment. I havent tested to see if melding a specific decoration through the 2nd option does or dose not though. Still things to test.
Is it possible to do this with quest loot tables I wonder? Could you save before doing a quest, decide you dont like the rewards, load, do another quest to advance the quest loot table, and do it again to see if the rewards are better?
My second Jewel was an attack Jewel and I had no idea they were rare. Earplug gems were something I didn't think existed for a while then I got three in two days. I'd only try this exploit if I was min/maxing a build but now I'm just dealing with RNG and enjoying the grind. But this is a nice fall back when it gets old.
It is definitely not the be all end all. You still need a lot of decorations for this to be worth it. But, grinding for certain gems to make that perfect set can be very painful without it.
lets say the Gem I want is in 5 sets down. I usually do investigations with 1 faint requirement in rotten veil. Can I stay in camp then fail 4 times without loading back to home base or is that a requirement? Also, I find it weird how i sometimes don't get the gems I'm sniping even though its written down. it sometimes skips... Edit: So I have a spreadsheet of what I wanted. the gem I want is speed sharpening 4th meld, 2nd gem. and 6th meld, 3rd gem for elementless. So correct me if I'm wrong but I should fail 3 missions, then that puts me on the 4th set right? 1st set > go fail mission > 2nd set > fail mission > 3rd set > Fail mission > Meld for my speed sharpening > fail mission > meld for elementless right?
Any quests advance the table in a 1, 1, 2 pattern. So if you do 3 quests your are advancing the tables by 4 instead of 3. It takes trial and error to find where you fall on the pattern though, because the first quest you do might be the one advancing you 2. Once you find out where you are in that pattern there is a link in the description that helps calculate exactly what you have to do to snipe the decorations you want.
青蔦 saved a life thanks
@Will Yap Well you dont always know you start at 1-1-2, you could be in the middle so your next quest would advance by 2. You need to see where you are in the pattern first.
@Will Yap I think you have to do a quest, then meld and check against your list to see how many it skipped. You will have to do it at least twice unless it skips 2 on the first quest completed.
I know it is kind of randomly asking but do anyone know of a good place to watch newly released tv shows online?
@Leandro Killian flixportal :D
For Xbox:
1. While connected to Xbox live, start your game, meld decorations until you find the one you want (like in the video).
2.Take note of the "location" of the gem (nth gem in y set)
3. WITHOUT closing the game, press the Xbox button, go over to settings>network>network settings; select "Go offline."
4.While offline, quit the game (on your Xbox, not from in game where it returns you to title screen)
5.Hit the menu button while on MHW (before you start it up) and select "Manage game."
6.Go down to "Saved data" select your save data and select "Delete from console"
7.REPEAT step 3 but this time select "Go online" (it should have replaced go offline anyways)
8.Launch MHW, Xbox should automatically sync your online data to your console restoring your save from before you melded.
9.Do quests to get to the correct set, meld for the gem, save your game, quit MHW while ONLINE (so your Xbox will sync the save to Xbox live).
10.Go back to step 1

Greetings, your friendly Mainlancer
Darkrenzo Oshrein damn right its not fucking cheating its just lazy grinding lol
whoa. thanks for this information XD
no wonder i never got that 8th table after 6-7 quests. re-downloaded the save files 3 times thinking i counted wrong.
In no particular order:
Mikozee you need to calm down there oO

Panda 8 My Taco I did it yestarday. It works just fine
Look at all these people complaining, we have jobs. I can't grind aimlessly for 100+ hrs just to get a meowster dec
Peter Vasz if I don't wanna grind, don't play because it's the whole point if the game
Explain to me why I didn't have everything from the second i started the game
Do keep in mind it's MY GAME AND THAT IS HOW I WANTED TO PLAY IT. That reasoning holds no merit when presented like that, does it?
Nooby Noob bitch don't tell me how to play my game. Get a life fucking mouth breathing basement dweller.
Peter Vasz well if you're going to be a bitch ass about not being able to grind then play like a little bitch and use glitches and exploits.

VeNoIVI1 do u mind helping a chargeblade noob out and telling me what your build would be?
maxigubo look one up gay boy
Sean Riley it can't Patch tis work in all offline games
People in this comment section need to realize that this is a PVE game, what you do and what I do are totally different things. I personally won't use this exploit, but I know others will, and that's Okay play the way you want.
oiDOMINATEo J Your opinions are wrong then, pal.
Jesse Brown
Exploits are a part of the game, and loading saves to exploit drop tables has been a major thing in Monster Hunter for ages.
People get so butthurt over petty shit. Haha let em weep.
This is amazing!!! After 460+ hrs of grinding and all else I finally got minds eye jewel, charger jewel and 2nd attack jewel with this method :D
congrats
I just did it 10 times in a row, still no attack jewel LOL
It worked for me but I experienced the issue he describes at the end of the tutorial. I first determined I needed to complete 4 quests in order to get a Tenderizer jewel, but when I completed them, the meld skipped a table. Repeated it, and again, after 4 quests it skipped. On my third attempt, I completed 3 quests instead and it worked!
Nice this is incredibly similar to rust shard/ ancient shard farming back in freedom unite
120 possible attack decorations later... still no attack jewel, i really think that jewel is not programmed into my mhw copy...
well its better then getting an attack gem in the first 40hours of play from a quest. then not knowing what you have and melding it cuz its worth 50pts. yeah i melded an attack gem i got as a drop. i have 600hours now and have never seen one since
@@Fivestar5000 lol at your luck
The tables also advance a full set of 3 if you just meld 1. This is a nice way to get the first decoration in each round of the logging process you described! Hope this helps if you haven’t found this out my experimenting in logging melds.

Yes
For Xbox one.
1. Making a Cloud save.
Save your game and then go to dashboard and Quit game.
Wait 3-5 mins, Your xbox will backup your save automatically if you quit your game and your game is not running in the background.
2. Start game, Go to eldermelder, press home button and go to 'settings' then 'network', 'network settings' and 'go offline'
Now write down each meld and see if you get anything good.
3. When you are done, go to dashboard and Quit the game.
Then go to 'manage game & add-ons' go to 'save data', click on your save and pick 'Delete from Console'
***Do Not Click 'Delete everywhere'***

It depends on where you start on the 1, 1, 2, pattern. Theres a link in the description to a spreadsheet thar figures it out for you.
Man You saved so many hours of my life, thx for sharing this
No problem, enjoy.
Mathor Elrhino you wasted so many hours of farming a monster that could drop a ruby/gem
Thanks for the trick! The title is very misleading, but the trick is still good to know.
You can kill Great Jagras in combo pretty fast if you want to have a little fun while advancing tables but do it quickly.
Just a heads up that this still works fine in the latest 13.50 Iceborn Patch, June 24th 2020.
This will probably always work and never be changed.
Just like the older Monster Hunter games had a tool you could use by inputting fish you caught to find out what RNG charm table you were on, so you could decide if you want to play the game on that table or start over and try for a better table.
does still works in the latest update (alatreon update)? im using ps4. Been farming mind's eye jewel for a while but still no luck.
Still works in August 2019
I've got 2 piercing shots, 2 power shots, handicraft, 2 flawless, 4 focus, 7 attack, and a few other s tiers that don't come to mind from grinding. I would trade all of them in if it meant getting a guaranteed bow charge plus. Seriously, 100 tempered elders and I haven't gotten a single one. Wtf.
When my first meld with the elder melded was a sharp jewel I can’t complain about it, and my first gem to obtain was element-less jewel
Thanks for sharing dude. Its actually doesnt skip before the patch so its more predictable.
This really seems to take an awful lof of time an d effort? It doesn't lok like much fun either.
The entire game is just farming monsters...That's why it's called "Monster Hunter."
I always find it interesting when people feel the need to cheat in a game that they are playing for fun. It's not a test people. Your life isn't dependent on it. If you don't enjoy playing the game the way it was designed go find something you actually enjoy. smh...
@skriller bee Elder Dragons are not even the most effective way to farm decorations... T2 investigations are and those have way more variety.
Forgot to mention upload/download of save files requires PS Plus. Besides the long route of usb storage its kind of p2w lol...
Man, this comment section is really interesting
This should also be possible on PC. I haven't unlocked the wyverian ritual yet, but you can effectively emulate a "save state." Copy and move your save file (found in steam/Steam\userdata\\582010
emote) to a safe place. do all the steps shown in the video, and when you need to reload the old save, simply replace the current save file with your backed up copy from before the melding.
Quick thing I forgot to mention, you need to close your game before replacing save files.
+R0manDemig0d didn't try it yet but theoretically it should work. can you confirm that it works?
And with the way this game is, you can bet your ass I'm gonna use it
Thanks dude, I am waiting for the patch now... I knew it was a matter of time before someone made a video.
When you smarter than the game lmao
Someone out there needs to form these tables in a excel spreadsheet or pdf because I really want to save hours completing builds
How dare you rename poogie
also i need to add that if you have used "return from quest" option, it
would not normally skip deco palettes BUT if you did a great hunting
quest and killed just ONE big monster and then return, it will count kinda as
completed quest and the deco palette will be switched to the next
one cuz this happened to me where i was doing the gold crown snipe technique
It not working on me.. i've already try this method but the results are the same, i always got the same decorations every time i download the save data from online storage
Did you advance the tables? That's all this is is finding out what is going to come from melding then skipping ahead to the gem you want without wasting resources.
Patched? I heard some one saying it was in a different video about the gems
n0xxm3rcyxx before you could do this without save states, cause the gane didnt save beforehand
Silver Twinkle oh maybe that's what they were talking about 🤔
n0xxm3rcyxx yeah, they saved the game rolled and just reloaded it. Then a patch came so it saved and the cloud version came into play.
You rock sir, thanks.
Just like in freedom wars
By time you finish I did 5 chungus run. They take me 2:30 minutes. 10 pickups and his rewards.
a bit boring to do..id rather fight all those elder dragons
You'll be back here when you'll understand that the RNG is pretty fucked up... We all love killing dragons.
Grumpyfat thats the point thats why the game is amazing you wanna get that gem you gotta earn not by exploiting it
Nah I'll be enjoying that feeling of plucking a gem out of nerg's ahole
Myke Playz Of course, nothing will beat the satisfaction to drop the gem you want after a tough fight. But when you played more than 100h and still nothing dropped, you know the rng is fucked up...
Grumpyfat you just have terrible luck
Just so you all know sniping's old hat for monster hunter, this isn't the first time we've abused melding and it likely won't be the last
This if for people that don't know the difference between an exploit and a cheat. Jesus....😑
Frantz Eliscard There are no rolls in D2, only drops. My 9th better devils is the same as my first.
Kerrag3 But you get my point
Who cares? I can have my little sister play the game for me and that could be considered cheating. It's not like they are killing kittens in a back ally.
The point of the game saving locally is to attract more players, specifically people that don't have internrt or want to play online. NOT to give people an option if they want to exploit.
that'd be a fair argument if the gem rng wasn't fucking awful to begin with. fuckin .04% chance of getting an attack gem for example
October 2019. Not working anymore..so sad. I even tried with the investigation for the quest, still not working.
LordValzy
Save scumming has been a part of games since save states were introduced to gaming.
"but what if they don't and they just want to experience these hunts a handful of times?"
Since there is no reason that forces you to get all possible decorations at a maximum possible, in that case they just won't have them.
In order to make that a valid argument you would first have to explain as to why people need to have them, without that it is of no importance.
LordValzy You take yourself and your opinions way too seriously
Thanks for the tip! I need expert heels and this looks like a great method for me to try out 👍
No prob
Nah man not gonna do it , i just KNOW something will go wrong and my save will get busted
Thanks a lot, man. You saved me hundreds of hours.
Spelled friendship wrong 😭
I just assumed it was a palico jewel that was spelled like that on purpose
You can backup saves on Xbox but because the game doesn't auto update after you do certain stuff you can get certain achievements (the zeny one) and reset to get everything you sold back
Nice to know.. but something I wont do. Trying 1 exploit or cheat can lead to another.. at least for me.. and it ruins the game
Earthbound One 😂😂😂😂
Amerzski join the dark side young Luke. Let your feelings free.
ive been doing this, and i have been having some fun, making charts and then planning my missions. :D and doing elder dragons for the missions Got 4 great gems so far
Awesome, enjoy.
Time to heavily exploit this, thanks for the vid
Thank, man. Now I have piece of mind when it comes to my decos. Also, What is the background music ? Cheers.
its just some royalty free music called 'Motherlode'
doea this method still work? Just wondering.
Yes, just not on xbox as far as i know.
TheDesert Pro Ha, as you can tell, I'm def one of those people who is admittedly salty about this whole situation.
You'll want some footing jewels for Deviljho because he has some really annoying tremor attacks.
If only i had them.
remakeme
I don't believe just your word.
Cyfearal
I know.
Let me write an essay as to why everyone here's wrong and I'm a God amongst you all. *Keyboard typing*
Eddie Serrano At this point, you could've made a book already!
Riley Sanford or wrote the history of the world by now
Damn 10 months later and you’re still typing!
Thanks for this. Finally got elementless that I've been needing for raw bow build.
Awesome, glad it helped
Can't believe there are ppl that ether moan about the grind or find ways to cheat, where's the fun? this game is all about the grind enjoy the game not cheat it
Hugo Storm Right? I'm assuming it's more to do with the fact that they can't handle the tempered quests, at least not without the op decos. Otherwise what's the point? Killing the longevity of the game is all they are accomplishing.
This is why lootboxes exist this generation is always looking for an easy out Play the game
It's possible after completing the gathering quest to return to Camp, and then choose to return from the expedition in order to skip one quest.
If you meld 1 deco then 1 deco it will advance twice. If you meld 2 decision at once it will only advance once.
Do you know does Melding items (such as gems) progress the table?
Thats is amazing thanks!
And could it be that it would be enough to go in expedition to reset the pool?
Yes but you have to be in the expedition for atleast 3 minutes.
Ok i see
I have killed over 150 tempered elder dragons and looked at about 300 of the elder melder's roles and not once have i seen an attack jewel...
I’m level 60 and I just finished my bow build finally got the spread, mighty bow, and minds eye
Nice, congrats
This was explained perfectly thank you
Your welcome
This is basically HOW TO PREDICT THE FUTURE oh and also m8 what is da gem u wanted is in the second or third charm? Do u need to meld three or two if they are in those seconds or thirds or is there an easier way?
No, you would still have to add 3 or 2.
You could've just skipped those boring parts.
Ugh this is so frustrating. It just occasionally skips over a set for no reason and I end up getting the set after the one that I'm aiming for
I found out after I made the video that it advances in a 1, 1, 2 pattern. so every 3rd quest it skips an extra one. I put it in the description but it was too late to put it in the video.
It Might Be Gaming that would make a lot of sense. Anyways, great video. This has helped me out a lot
hey do elder mission always skip multiple jewel melding? only reason i ask is because i screw up and i noticed that when i did temper elder dragon mission it skip 4 rows of melding? not sure if it might had been a glitch on my end.
Ok So I have melded all my gems and went trough 50 tables, didnt find my Bow Charge Plus. So you are telling me, I have to go trough ~36 quest to move all those tables forward and start all over again? Thanks
correct, if there is nothing in those first X tables you just have to do quests to clear those out and get to new ones.
any idea if melding something other than gems will progress the table? like throwing away some trash great jagras parts to make a herb or something to progress the gem melding table?
Not that i noticed in testing. Doing lesser rituals, like the spire ritual, will though if you just need to meld something to advance the table with less investment. I havent tested to see if melding a specific decoration through the 2nd option does or dose not though. Still things to test.
I got a tenderizer Jewel 2 and an attack jewel 1 in Low Rank, I’m 140+ hours in to the game and haven’t seen another one, might give this a try
Attack jewels are still really rare. Good luck.
The saving part, why not check the “Apply to All” option when saving?
Is it possible to do this with quest loot tables I wonder? Could you save before doing a quest, decide you dont like the rewards, load, do another quest to advance the quest loot table, and do it again to see if the rewards are better?
No, unfortunately they are randomly generated on quest completion.
What do you do if the gem you want is in the middle? Or the third slot? Is there a way to meld once to get it or do you have to meld for 2 or 3 slots?
you would have to meld 2 decorations or 3 decorations to get one in the 2nd or 3rd slot respectively.
Edit:
So I have a spreadsheet of what I wanted. the gem I want is speed sharpening 4th meld, 2nd gem. and 6th meld, 3rd gem for elementless.
