  • So after changing the cam position sensors, I was still having problems (video link at end of this video). It was better but still not right, I had felt something that I had remembered from the past and it felt to me like the coil packs again. The codes were still the same as previous video so I took a chance and it ended up that replacing all the coil packs as well as the cam position sensors fixed the problem and now she runs great again!

    I have a similar issue on my 07 F-150 5.4 and my OBMI reader live data shows the during every bump, bump bump, the evap system vapor pressure drop from around -9.0 inH2O to -0.5 inH2O. After a series of these bumps correlating with a near total drop in evap pressure, a misfire code throws on cylinder 7. Not sure if its truly a ignition coil though.

    These Accels are not very good coils. You're better off going with ford motorcraft/ ford racing. These are the wrong coils for this application. The 140032 would be for a 2003 or older with a 5.4 2 valve engine, the 140033 would work with 2004 or newer which will have the 5.4 3 valve engine. Thats why they were running so hot.

    I hope those duralast last for ya. Motorcraft is recommended

    Your title implies showing us how to replace but you skipped over the removal and replacement. Change your title or fix the video.

    My truck had the accel coils from the previous owner also and I had the same problem when I replaced them. Every one of the rubber boots separated

    Good video. great information. I would be curious to see the reading you get on the old coils from an Ohm meter. Something looks really wrong with the heat that was building up.

    Do you recommend Edelbrock coil packs

    • @bdradley1
      @bdradley1  ปีที่แล้ว

      No experience with them Christian but I.m sure they would be fine. I think most of it comes from China anyway, probably the same factory just rebranded!

    Actually the coil pack plug boots stick down thru the VALVE COVER...! You mean you don't have Amazon Prime...??? Don't you know you can change just change the resistor springs (plug wires) & spark plug boots...? You do know it's illegal for anyone but you, or a licensed repair facility, to reset the check engine codes on your car... Right...?
