We use corona ointment salve for scratches an cuts. I’m in southern OH but am always at the auctions I hardly ever miss a draft auction in the Holmes co area. I will be going to the Buckeye draft sale April 25th. I also travel to Hazlehurst GA a couple times a year if ever need anything trucked down from Ohio.
I appreciate it! I’ll be in Danville to pick up the young team early May and then back to Mt Hope in October. I make it for the 2 big sales and stay with my Amish friends in Baltic. I would be at every one of if I were closer! Thx for watching, Dave
Try putting vaseline on the scratches. I. Knew an old farmers wife and when my horse caught his back leg on a big nail. He had a big open wound and the farmers wife filled it with vaseline. It healed perfectly. In winter we didn't have rugs and so we put quite a bit of vaseline onto their backs. Then it didn't matter what the weather was like , the horse was okay. In summer we put vaseline around the sheath, around the eyes and flies couldn't get to them. This old remedy worked very good.
Thought i hadnt seen you Dave, hope you are all well, turns out youtube unsubscribed me , others have had the same happen on other channels, more than strange. So im doing catch up. the mares look well, hope you can find a good home where they will be used. You will gain a lot of time having the fillies started, bet you cant wait to get them back, it will be good to see them in action. Ezciting times ahead. Regards Alan from the UK.
😁True!! I hope he'll read your comment!!🙌 Bacon grease is the ONLY thing I've come across to keep em from scaring over in white.. hadn't heard of the lime but if it's some kinda fungus, i'm guessing that WOULD work. Interesting, I ain't never seen that sh*t before.. hard to see if she's swollen up, maybe a fungus or parasites...IDK. 🤐Feels silly to say but wish I was there to get her healed up!!
Very familiar with the area. Ms Yoders for lunch and we go to the produce auction right out of town Also Coblenz leather and harness on rt 62 south of Mt hope
I have a Nephew in Bethlehem Ga. Went to UGA he helped on our farm when in high school. Love watching the mules. Like to ride or drive some someday. I’m retired now we used to farm over 1000 acres and raised hogs and a few cattle.
@@knickfarms7037 yes he is only about 20 min away. If you ever get down feel free to visit and we will get you driving! My young team are in Danville Ohio and should be 7-14 May to pick them up. How far from Mt Hope are you? My uncle has 1000+ acres he farms pecans on in middle Georgia, will be going down mid May to drive through the orchard with his kids and grandkids.
Always enjoy your videos. Someday I hope I’m in town when you come up here. 🤷🏼♂️life of a truck driver.

On your cuts and scraps used hydrated lime and if that dose good after a few days then put bacon grease on the spots and the hire will not turn white
