Do I need to adjust belt’s tension? Seems like after changing the belt, my ATV feels to be a bit more slower like it does a much more engine brake. Also, it takes throttle a bit later compared to old. Talking about 2015 Can-Am Outlander L 450 btw It’d be great if you could give me an answer, also thank you. The video is very helpful I managed to change the belt myself.
not cvt trans/centrifugal clutch CVT belt is in full contact with both sheeeves/YAMAHA has true CVT with internal clutch / this is basically a snowmobile drive system
thought i mention this to people doing this job, everything else went like in the video, expect, the plastic cover has been under heat and stress, and the molding might not be perfect. So the hardest part of this job ended up being getting the plastic back on, and trying to get the holes and the bolts to line up. (tip, get every bolt one just very slightly on , and look at the hole you have trouble with a flashlight, look what direction you need to push the plastic to line the hole with the bolt) 20 minutes to do the what is in this video, then hour to figure how to get the plastic cover back on line the holes., maybe yours is not as difficult.
On an 07 I have an air vent on the front of the CVT box. This is always getting water in and causes the belt to slip. Can I replace this with a sealed box?
You prolly dont give a damn but does someone know a trick to get back into an instagram account..? I was dumb forgot the login password. I would love any assistance you can give me.
@Watson Brixton Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site on google and Im in the hacking process now. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will reply here later with my results.
That’s a tough question to answer. It varies depending on how the vehicle is being used and the driving style. Typically at higher mileage, the operator will start to notice poor engagement, a drop in speed or having to give it more throttle than normal. This may be very gradual and hard to notice. On an Outlander with easy riding, if you have not noticed any issues, inspect the belt every year or on the schedule outlined in the owner’s manual. On bigger vehicles or more intense riding, you may need to check more often. Some riders need to replace the belt annually while others can ride for years without any belt issues. One way to monitor belt wear it to measure the width at the cord line when it’s new. A general rule is to replace the belt when it has worn greater than 1/16 inch (.062”) at the cord line. The belt is not “bad” at this point but you are likely not getting all the performance out of your machine.
Yeah thanks a lot can am. For employing garbage engineers. You can’t get the cover off without removing the foot well. Which has many bolts and tx screws , all of which have to be held from under the bike or they just spin. Garbage.
Nice video!! Now I know what size bolt to buy at the hardware store instead of buying can-am bolt $40 + dollars. Nice 👍
Cual es la medida del perno?
Great video, just poking fun but an inspection tag on a fire extinguisher mounted on the rear of an ATV is a little much...

Thank you so much, you really help me out :D

Great video.

I got 5000 miles on my stock drive belt. I can go any time now
push the gas....
what does it mean if i get to the end and it starts slipping? stripped hole? this is my first time changing the belt and i bought it used😐
I don’t understand your question. Please send your phone number to belts@timken.com and I’ll ask one of our engineers to give you a call.
Don't go more than half throttle fo.30 miles?? Really I hardly put that on my machine in 5 months..lol
That sure seems like a long way to break in a belt.
Drive more, equals more fun, equals longer life.
What are the torques on the cover
The torque specs are set by the manufacturer and vary by year and model. The spec is usually in the owners manual.

Only on older models. About 2018 or newer is easily accessible.
Looks like the belt wanted to derail when letting off the gas, cringe. I wonder if that is the reason for belt problems in these canams.
( YAWN ). that slow speech can cause severe depression. 😁
😂👍🏼
