Like most of the in London Estates Heygate, Carpenters, Aylesbury n such... it didnt just decline... it was run down deliberately so unerfordable housing could replace it. sorry local authorities your lies have been laid bare.

yes let not beat around the bush with fake positivity, Ferrier was a no go zone i know kids that have come out of there ABSOLUTELY TRAUMATIZED from what they went through living there... despite people saying it "wasnt a bad estate" and yeah this video is actually quite affensive seeing the councillors saying they did such a good job... its a known fact that councils will quote crazy large amounts of money for a regeneration/improvements.... then actually get a load of cheap builders to do it whilst they reap in the profits claiming they spent "millions or even them saying they spent a billion on this project i very much doubt it

Despite there being more than a few inaccuracies in this video (using images of a derelict estate to show how bad things had got, and a lot of talk from people who had very little knowledge of the Ferrier), I think the creation of Kidbrooke Village is a positive thing. Would have been nice for the old place to be remembered in some way, but as I understand it there are no plans to do so. Shame really...

Bulld quality is appalling, trust me, I live here. Its nice enough yeah, but Berkeley homes are money grabbing pricks, obviously.
As for the youth centre "one space" well that's currently being demolished to make way for more plasterboard palaces

    Quite a mis-alignment of narration to imagery from 1:00 - 2:30 min

I liked this film and think the new village looks nice.
I'm not knocking the new village things need to change and move on but there is more to these things.
Copied from inside housing, no secret I know.
On the development’s completion, 1,525 of these will be affordable, of which 738 will be let at social rents. There were 1,910 social homes on the original Ferrier estate, although some had been sold under the right to buy ( end of quote ).
The government are slowly getting rid of their housing the want housing associations or private rented.
It will be very good to see what it is like in 20 years time just out of interest. It is people what ruin areas.
I'm sure the chairman of the Berkeley Group has a genuine interest in the project not sure if it is for the right reasons..... who knows?
