They finally got a unit in your hands, nice! There's no other power bank like it on the market and honestly it's the only power bank I can carry with me even when not using a bag. About the price it really is pricey, but if you can snag one used off Amazon they go for the same price as Anker ones. That's how I bought one, else I would've not.
@wwjoshdew they have the mophie power boost XL 20,000 mah and for 2023 they have the mophie power station XL 20,000 mah with PD as well as the 2023 mophie power station 10,000 mah with PD the first one is all black and the second and third ones are black and lime green
@@wwjoshdew coz they made crappy previous versions. The gen2 would be unusable if you pressed the power button for too long, until you plugged it again. Gen1 had issues as well. I don't trust this battery bank anymore when i'm hiking (and my life kind of depends on it).
@@frogturtle I'm using a cuktech 10k (awful name) because it recharges fast (1h50 vs ~3h30 for the Nitecore), had good numbers when tested with a usb meter, and was on sale (13€). The downside is the weight at 198g but I couldn't find a lighter 30W input powerbank on the market. The latest INIU 10k with "tiny cells" seems a good option as well (a bit lighter, good capacity, slower to recharge but still faster than the nitecore). If reliability was my priority I'd pick an Anker I think. If you live outside of europe you may have other choices.
@@TheStopwatchGod Oh, I'm sure there is a market for it. But claiming it's "a little expensive" is disingenuous when it costs three times more than a slightly bulkier one.
@@adriftatlas Nitecore products are ultra-optimized for size & weight, that's what you you pay for. This battery's originally designed for trail running. They're also ideal for anyone spending extended time on the move, like cyclists on long journeys. A friend of mine cycled from South Japan to Tokyo over 6 months, where every gram counted. As a person that usually walks 30K steps a day on outdoor vacations. I personally understand the need for lightweight gear; especially after a shoulder injury that lasted for 9 months. After that I invested in ultra-light, weather-resistant gear to minimize the load after my shoulder re-hab. To make sure i never overload it again. So yeah, it's like saying "Apple is a little expensive" cause you can get a working smartphone for 1/4th the price. Sure. But people buying Apple buy it for a reason and the price just comes with the territory; same with Nitecore.
I’m thinking it is for thru-hikers where every ounce counts. I also like its slim profile, where the carbon fiber reduces the need for bulk. I have a bug out bag and flat is appreciated in a maxed bag. Also is low profile to carry in pockets even while charging if you don’t want to have to carry any bags.
Did you measure the amount for pass through charging of the phone? I'm curious on that as to how fast it can charge and if it is truly passthrough or is it just charging the phone from the battery. How long would it take using pass through to fully charge phone vs using a charge plug with multiple outputs?
I bought 2 of samsung's older 10,000 mah powerbanks (with wireless charging) from ebay. $25 and $40. What a freaking game changer! It can super fast charge our samsung phones at 25w, and wirelessly charge my watch (not at the same time though). (EB-U3300). You have the newer samsung wireless charging powerbank if I remember. Is this new one smaller than the new beige samsung 10k mah powerbank?
@@wwjoshdew Not with 40w tho. And even 40w is low by current standards. 65w is becoming standard with multiple phones being engineered to deal with it. Shargeek hasn't minimized weight the way these guys have, but they excel in leaps and bounds when it comes to power delivery.
This is why thru hikers/ backpackers use nitecore battery packs, because they’re much lighter.
Dude, you're right! Weight matters, and that's why I use a scale.

love this new testing you do now with the powerbanks 12:58

that could be interesting

nitecore is known mainly for their flashlights and battery chargers.
dude. they have some epic flashlights. Super bright!! I have one on my wish list right now.
Also why did they need 3 generations of this?
I don't know. But we all benefit from it!! Only USB c is great!!

@@tt-of4xv thanks for the detailed reply. curious if you have any thoughts on the Klarus K5. cheers
I'm confused. I'm used to seeing 25w as "samsung super fast charging PPS" 18w over usb c is listed as PPS?
PPS isn’t tied to Super Fast Charging. You can have PPS and no Super Fast Charging support
@@TheStopwatchGod Oh. I see.
I'm sorry but $65 is highway robbery for a 38Wh power bank that can only do 20W. I'd rather buy a 200g 38Wh power bank for $20.
Suit yourself. There are people who value the smaller size and will pay a premium for it, hence the existence of this powerbank

Still waiting for your anker solix c300 dc and ac review 😅
I’m waiting for them to come out. I am gonna order as soon as they go live. It got delayed.
May I ask what is the messurement unit you use for that testing , it looks nice and small also
Definitely pricey for the capacity. But if you want something small and pocket-able then its a win. More like about the size of a 5000mah option
NB 1000 or 10000? Is it 10K mAh? I prefer a more sleek 20K mAh like my big think Anker one.
this is perfect,
I just need 25k mah with 65w or 85w charging
as I always have 2 batteries one from my sling bag and one for my laptop bag

Nitecore isn’t the brand you’d go for if you wanted value. Best for lightweight.
