Like all the other comments. This is all weve been needing out of fishing youtube. Just solid fun hooksets, landing fish and with good friends. Love it
@@GilbertRowley thanks! What set up were you using? I was thinking you might have something bigger than the 2wt…looked like a T&T and couldn’t figure out the reel
Thanks, I get a bit excited for a 40 year old 😁 And thanks for the comment, it’s a good reminder that I need to remember to keep it fun. Right now we are on a trip that we’ve had a couple of very slow days on the water… gotta find a way to stay positive even when it’s though out there. Thanks for helping me with that!
Thanks for the invite Gilbert to enjoy a great day outside with you and Nick. Love the footage (as always), love the enthusiasm and wildlife shoots and of course those butter-belly-browns!!!! I could literally feel the tug every time you guys hook-up on those bad boys! Great job you two!
Wow, how did you keep that drift for 15 seconds in that fast Water that’s impressive either that or you’re catching the outside edge of that pool where the soft water is and that would make sense but either way what heckuva cast! At the 5:28 mark.
@@troutman007 thanks, my buddy Nic did a great job with this presentation. A big part of it is getting your flies down near the bottom where the currents slow way down. That your slighter/indicator should usually be traveling quite slower than the surface currents visible on the water’s surface.
Hey Sean! So good to hear from you! I am planning on St. George, hope to see you down there again. Glad to hear you’re enjoying the videos, I appreciate it!
Thanks Ryan, I appreciate you taking the time to check it out! Thanks! This thread frenchie has a small olive ice dub collar, besides that it’s pretty a standard thread frenchie.
Thanks! Gold bead, brown-olive UTC 70 thread, and small copper wire. I tie it both with a pink ice dub collar, and an olive ice dub collar. The olive ice dub was the one crushing it in this video.
I just discovered your channel learning to euro nymph. Great work. Looks like you are using Lamson reel. What size and model is that? How does that balance your T&T rod? In your opinion, is reel balance as important as it is made out to be?
Thanks, glad you like what we are doing! Reel balance is pretty important in my opinion for a few reasons. If you fish all day long it can be taxing on your forearm without even knowing it because you will be over compensating for hours to counteract the weight difference. Secondly, if the reel is too heavy and pulls your rod tip up in the air, at some point this will affect your drift without you noticing. Every action your rod tip makes, so do your flies with this technique. BUT... I am a a huge fan of using the gear that you have on hand until you feel the need to upgrade. If you have a reel on hand that you'd like to use but it doesn't quite balance correctly, I'd still use it. I fish a Lamson Litespeed F5 and it balances my T&T perfectly. Thanks!

Thanks Hyrum, means a lot! Making TH-cam a little more meaningful one fishing video at a time 😉
Gilbert I am loving this new series of yours. It is keeping me sane while down with a bug. Dreaming of my local waters
Awesome… not the part about you being under the weather, that’s a bummer, but awesome it’s been helping you manage!

The Provo is a fantastic fishery

I could be taught how to be a cameraman. Those are some good looking fish.

This is the reel I use: collabs.shop/aw3xnq in the F5 size
I think I better tie me up some thread frenchies lol.
Haha, yeah they were crushing it that day! A great year round pattern to have on hand 👍
Euro reminds me of Tenkara.
Long rod yes, line off the water… I guess you can compare the two.
Fastest I’ve ever clicked on a video! 🎉
Haha, awesome! Hope you enjoyed it!
