- The American West is home to some of the best fly fishing in the world. Between Idaho, Wyoming, and Montana, the world class fishing is endless. For the past 15 years I have been making the journey to Montana to fly fish the legendary Bighorn river. Starting in the Wind River Mountain range in Wyoming, the Bighorn is famous for its high fish per mile count, and most of all for its SIZE. The Montana section flows from the base of yellowtail dam. A 500+ foot dam that keeps the waters of the Bighorn consistently cold all year long. Please enjoy this short film of my week long adventure to the place that made me fall in love with fly fishing.

My first fly fishing experience was on the Bighorn on a work trip. I loved it so much I came home and immediately scheduled the same trip for a few months later with my wife…..which was her first time fly fishing. We had the best time! I can’t wait to get back. I’ve got some amazing memories on that river!

Yup, spent a lot of time on that river, one of my favorites. Been a few years, need to get back up there.
It’s fishing better then is has in 10 years. Would really recommend going!

I live less than an hour away from this river and have the worst luck having never had a day with more than 5 fish in the boat
Some years it’s defiantly like that. However, the size of the fish is usually worth it.
They were legendary until TH-camrs posted 1000s of videos, and the pressure is now so bad that the fishing has gone way downhill.
Fishing is the best it’s been in 10 years. TH-cam is not effecting it.

@@FSBrody , I will never understand why you guys think this is some sort of superhero event on TH-cam to show off your outdoor pursuits like "Mossy Oak Outdoors" on Cable. Most guys today have about 2,000 subscribers, and the only thing you do is put more pressure on the bodies of water. The Hotler area now has loads of boats all over the place in the summer. I can't tell you how many times I have heard, "Yeah, we saw this on TH-cam."You are only hurting yourself by posting all the videos. Maybe making 2 Cents on subscribership. If it floats your boat, then have at it, but you are mainly making money for TH-cam "(Google) and hurting everyone else.
@@brentwebber3412 that’s totally okay to think that. We are all I entitled to our opinions. I make videos because I love to do so. I would look to bigger factors to explain a decline in fishing. A general increase in outdoor activities since Covid is a good place to start. The bighorn river is fishing better than it has in 10 years, that I can 100% say.
