I used to think Lucas was the best fuel system cleaner. After using the 100 gallon treatment in 5 gallons of gasoline twice in a row, I saw no change. I changed to Gum Out brand of fuel system cleaner and after 1 treatment, I gained 6 MPG and a lot of power. This was on a 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan 3.8L with 218,000 miles. Lucas has some good products, but I no longer use their fuel system cleaner.

Bought a clean used 2005 GMC Canyon 4 cyl truck (200K) miles last Nov. and added a 4oz. bottle of 'Lucas Fuel Injector Treatment' with a fresh fill up, along with a pint of 'Rislone' High Mileage Oil Treatment (yellow bottle) with an oil change. Although it took about 100 driving miles to accomplish what I intended, one day I realized how smoothly the engine was running and the noticeably increased power I was getting. Am convinced previous owner (company fleet vehicle) never bothered use these type products. Seriously, the engine has so much pep now it feels like a 6+ cyl. Best $12 bucks I ever spent......

The one I have the best luck with is berryman's fuel injection cleaner it's low in cost and does a really good job but you can only use it in the gasoline do not put it in your engine. Unless you're going to be changing your oil it works well as a flush. It is very strong.

I use super tech, motor treatment, its right next to sea foam, in Wally world, I went in the local supercenter, to buy a bottle of sea foam, but, they were out of the regular bottle, I have been buying, so I looked around, and to the left of where the sea foam, usually is, was a can of super tech, motor treatment, at roughly 6.00 dollars, so I figured, there, can't be that many companies, making it for wally world, so I bought one and put it in in the parking lot, over the next couple days, I noticed, the check engine light was off, and the engine was running, noticeably, smoother, in my 01 express van, and 2 weeks later, my check engine light is still off, and the engine, still, running great, I'm sold, for around, $6.00, a little, more with tax, this stuff is great!

I used the Lucas in my old Toyota Corolla with great success. Corrolla finally gave up the ghost at 350,000 miles When I got my new Camry, the Lucas did not do much, so I tried the Sea Foam which works great and adds 4-5mpg to my gas mileage. I drive from Orlando to Atlanta a couple times per year on I75. My last trip with using the Sea Foam I went from 35mpg to 42mpg which is a significant increase in gas mileage. My range per gas tank increased from 450 to 525 miles per tank using the Sea Foam. I don't leave home without it.

I drove my 78 Corolla from new until 02 when I had no choice but to buy my Camry, only bc my Corolla died at 488K miles.
I drove my Camry until 11 and bought a new Rav 4WD. I still drive the Rav today.
So in 44 years I’ve only had to buy 3 cars.
      When I turn 70, I’ll buy another Rav AWD that’s a hybrid

@@Doc1855 I miss my 2008 Corolla. My Camry is like driving a big boat after 11 years of driving the Corolla. 488K miles is awesome. I'm sure I could have gotten another 100K miles if I had wanted to pay for a large repair bill last summer. All in all glad I made the switch.

    • @Doc1855
      @Doc1855 ปีที่แล้ว

@@jeffreymumm4483 LOL, you’re right about going from a Corolla to a boat, I think you made a wise decision on buying a Camry. Mine was a great car.
My wife drove her 04 Camry for 18 years. Last November we donated it to our church and I bought my wife a lease retuned Outback. It’s a 19 and it only had 5,600 miles.
We were having to park her Camry 3-4 months each year bc of our snow pack, (we get 4-5 feet of snow every winter). We looked at the AWD Camry but it didn’t have enough ground clearance.
We’re hoping to get 200K out of her Outback. If not then I’ll replace it with a Rav AWD hybrid.
We loved the new Toyota Venza for her but our auto insurance would have gone up $1K a year. It’s $300 more a year for the Outback, so that’s why I bought her the Subaru, well that and she’s great at a lot of things, except for driving. She has a LOT of fender benders and Subaru’s are the best for occupant safety.

I own a 2012 V.W. EOS and had a vapor lock problem. The car would preform wonderful until you turned it off. 3 to 4 hour wait to cool off and it would start right up after that amount of time,(you could use it as a timer). I used "Sea Foam" in the fuel. "Yes" I've read it's for use in a 2 cycle engine. I did indeed find a preformance increase. The 2012 V.W. EOS is a sleeper. It will bark tires in first and in second gear and is a rush in passing on a 4 lane hwy lots of power. It is an auto trans, turbo. "Sea Foam" did solve the problem of vapor lock. I do believe preformance was increased by the addition of "Sea foam" in the fuel.

Crazy cool...hey the redline the number one choice obviously got to be stronger than everything before it...would you go with something like 4 seafoam, petroleum solvent is probably all in these, but yeah. Oh, and they all go in the tank...watched a vid on seafoam, where it went in the crankcase, tank, and intake manifold while the engine ran till it was empty, then sat for 10 min and restart to blow the carbon out, which one would you use? I have a Hyundai Santa Fe with 303,000 km on it runs well, 3.3.l v6 Awd, I love it and want to just treat it well and see how long she goes for. So, the question is the same, as the three steps if you care to go through them, can you do the same with redline? 3 treatments intake manifold, gas tank and crankcase? appreciate the video. PS Lucas oil treatment would be beneficial? also, I am running Pennzoil ultra-platinum full synthetic.

Never replaced that plug again. It was kept clean by the injector cleaner. Definitely keeps your whole combustion chamber carbon build up , free.

Lucas Oil can be used in both gasoline and diesel engines. It states that right on the bottle. This video said it's only for gas which is wrong info. Since this video channel can't even get that right I don't trust them with anything that's important. You’re better off getting catalytic converter cleaner since it cleans all these parts of the fuel system these products claim to and more. Restrictions of flow in the exhaust system and buildup on the O2 sensors are often the cause of many symptoms. Besides, I’ve tried most of these and I felt Rislone in the binary bottle has the best results

Original Seafoam may not be the best choice for modern engines. It was originally for 2 cycle engines. Just watch Scotty Kilmer videos. I don't consider Stabil as an injector clearer, its used to keep gas fresher for long periods. Techron has a good reputation. I may try red line. Thanks

What was the "science" behind this? For one I was not aware STP Water Remover cleaned fuel; systems of deposits other than water. I have used a couple of these products. I used to use Royal Purple ( still do from time to time ) but I'm not adding a $22 Cdn Dollars bottle of injector cleaner every 2 or 3 tank fulls of fuel to save a few bucks on fuel so I just use it maybe every 5000 mile oil change. I once put the product Gum Out and there was a noticeable difference in idle smoothness and after running through 3/4 of the tank on a long trip, the acceleration was better on the next tank full. Use good quality fuel, pray that the "name brand Fuel Station" has no issues with their holding tanks etc. and once in awhile ( maybe once every couple hundred miles or so, do a short burst of hard acceleration not necessarily pedal to the metal, maybe on a long downhill straight stretch to "blow out" the combustion chambers a bit and do that with a bottle of fuel injector cleaner in the tank.
