It feels like there's an almost 0% chance we'll see Mysterio in DD: Born Again, let alone that he will be the central villain of the show... I wouldn't mind him showing up, I do feel like he was out too soon, but to take over the whole show the way proposed here is not at all appealing.

If Mysterio has been in a Spider-man MCU film, which is owned by Disney, I can see that villain in a TV series as one of the main villains in it too. I wouldn't be surprised if they are planning a cameo of Spider-man(Tom Holland) after finding Mysterio after the third movie and at some point teams up with Daredevil to defeat him once and for all with no tricks this time that will stop them.
This is a great idea--hope it happens. I especially agree with the concept of Mysterio's powers matching up against Matt's in an interesting way. I really enjoy when the powers of the villain and hero are different (actually, this is probably why I like seeing hero vs. hero battles so much), and we generally only see that in Spider-Man movies, so I'd love to see the concept branch out.

I'm out on this one. Gyllenhaal's Mysterio surviving would erase Peter's whole arc in Far From Home, which is that he finally learns to trust his spider sense and see through the illusions. They could maybe introduce a copy-cat version of the character, but why? There's so many villains for Marvel to adapt that they don't need to start rehashing dead villains already.

Spider-Sense only tells him about danger. If Mystereo gave up on hurting Spider-Man and decided just to get away Spider-Sense wouldn't help with that. Spider-sense doesn't see through illusions other than it's ability to predict danger. For instance, if someone is taking Spider-Man to a surprise party, Spider-Sense doesn't cover that, unless for some reason he's afraid of a party.

I half agree with you. Quentin Beck is dead, but Mysterio is not. After all, Mysterio was a creation of Quentin Beck's group, not only by Quentin Beck, and in the climax of FFH, we could clearly see one from his group copied something into a USB before escaping. This was probably the data used to recreate the video exposed Spider-Man's true identity. But it is also a set up for Mysterio's return later without Quentin Beck.
@@captainjefferies9047 yes and no, the heat, smell, etc work to tell you what your eyes see is correct. But daredevil would "see" a bunch of flying drones shooting at him and smashing into things. He wouldn't see any of the holograms. His eyes would adequately create the outline of the drones
I think if Mysterio came back, his motivation to attack Daredevil would be because he defended Spider-Man, as well as him being a more accessible challenge.

There would be a certain beautiful irony to the idea that the Mysterio from Far From Home did die, but a varient crossed over during No Way Home and got stuck in 616 - essentially the lie that QB-616 told Peter - and no one believes him. In that case, it could be as simple of a story as the Mysterio varient could be from a universe where Daredevil is his primary adversary so he just goes after him as he always does because reasons. It answers the question "how does a guy who mostly relies on special effects get an edge of Daredevil" with "by targeting his friends and family and taking advantage of the fact that this Matt would never think to look for someone he has never met with a grudge against his doppleganger in another universe." The other thing is that QB-616 knowing that that he was on Earth 616 was a hell of a guess, so it's possible if not likely someone on their team was playing a bigger game. It might have been a clue that QB-616 was being used as a pawn to mess with Spiderman specifically with the goal to manipulate Peter into doing something that would mess with reality or weaken the walls between universes. The next step could be to get Matt to do *something* or use him to get another character to do *something* that unexpectedly backdoor rolls up into the phase-5 saga storyline. It wouldn't take Daredevil out of scope if Matt never finds out the bigger impact of whatever it is that he did - like if the plan is to get the TVA to show up and steal their portal or if there is a McGuffin of some kind that has magical/tech properties that Matt is unaware of etc etc, especially if the reveal is functionally an end of series kicker. Either way QB claiming to be from "Earth-833" feels like a bridge to make this work. 833 is mostly known for a storyline where Spider-UK leaves his universe to do Spiderverse team-up things but finds out he can't go back because his universe was destroyed by an incursion while he was gone. So playing it for comedy (it genuinely is just a giant coincidence that QB-616's fake story aligns perfectly with QB-833's real story) or drama (there's a level to the game that Matt will never know about) both work really well.
Guardian Devil is my favorite Daredevil story after Born Again so I just want to see it adapted. Born Again was already adapted in Season 3 of the Netflix show, so the title of the new one really confused me.
In their first confrontation, DD will be stopping some seeming disaster. He'll sense its fake and foil whatever Becks plan was, but Beck will watch some game film from the drones and figure out DD is blind, which will lead him to knowing DD is Matt. That's act 1

Whether Mysterio is the villain or not it makes sense for him to be in the series, even if it's not really him. Fisk is smart enough to use the persona of Mysterio to muddy the waters of his previous conviction, to "prove" his innocence or at least make people legitimately question his guilt. It's much easier to confuse than prove so I'm betting that is the direction Fisk is going to take to become mayor of NYC.
Don't get me wrong I love this idea. But like Daredevil cannot see. How is this even a possibility? I get Mysterio can do audio illusions which would obviously work, but like Daredevil can sense electromagnetic waves and would be able to tell if it is a hologram correct? Unless they're gonna give Mysterio real magic or something.

That would be fun. I have a slightly different idea for the motive, just, we all doubt the completion of Strange's spell, right? But that this follows Agatha's show and some other things that could break it. And some people who might be exempt anyway (like Wanda). I have had the idea that Jen does like a one to three episode arc, but that she leaves and is kind of hijacked by the TVA so that we all know she will be part of the big battle (I have this whole Deadpool gets caught by them at the end of his movie and she is his public defender but they both get caught up in the Battleworld). But it could also play into this that Matt doesn't hear from her and thinks she has moved on. It could be the romance angle of whichever Avengers movie they appear in.
Sony wouldn’t allow marvel to use him in a non Spider-Man project anyway, it really fucking suck that Spiderman can’t hangout around other heroes randomly without Sony’s approval while Sony is just there not doing anything with Spidey but with his d-list villains for some reason…
I like the concept mostly but I really don't want one of those seasons where the main character takes L's for 17 1/2 episodes and then suddenly wins in the finale. Would much prefer ups and downs, highs and lows, wins and losses etc. Those are a lot more fun to watch.
I think the main villain should be the Owl. Hear me out, Leland died end of s1 but said he sent his kids money. What if his son looks for revenge on Fisk, and then Daredevil stopping crime finds out its a plot against Fisk. The moral and emotional dilemma is perfect for the character deciding to help his nemesis
I know this is random... But following Secret Invasion, id love to see an R rated "Skrull Kill Krew" in the MCU. An underated team that would make a great show/Special.
If we get another MCU story with Mysterio, I like the idea that Quentin Beck really is dead, but "Mysterio" is still "alive" because the team working with Beck is still using his image for their own agenda.
I could get behind your theory for the new Daredevil Born Again show. In phase 5 & 6 needs to set up one of these three plot points to end the multi-verse old war. 1. Create conflict between a group of heroes and villains for Battleworld. 2. Two further along the Multiverse, so arc with Kang the conqueror 3. A prelude to the SKRIL invasion of Earth. I think when we were talking about theories and plot points, one of those three needs to be talked about in the theories because that’s where, in my opinion, all these shows need to leads us to. Along with sprinkling in the seven, which I’m assuming is gonna be the X-Men arc. If you pay attention, the MCU always gives us a taste of the next big “Phase Arc”. Example, Doctor Strange and Ant-man give us a taste of quantum realm in phase 1,2& 3. Doctor Strange introduced us to the multi-verse in the first movie self titled. That was in marvels first major ark. Now it is very very important piece of this arc. That’s why I say that. They’ve already given us a taste of the X-Men arc in Shang-Chi & Ms. Marvel, so far.
It would make sense. I wasn’t convinced that Mysterio died and I would hope that he confesses his crimes so that Spider-Man could be cleared of controversies unless they’re fully committed to the What If scenario of “What if Mysterio won?”
A cool idea would be incorporating what punisher says to dd in the Netflix series. How daredevil is one bad day away from being him. Maybe he loses both she hulk and the other girl. Then ultimately daredevil ends up going crazy and being one of kangs right hand man or for secret wars whoever ends up being that main guy, doom, beyonder or whomever.
I love this theory! Especially about Disney/Marvel adding some psychological darkness versus the violence in the original show. That way it doesn’t feel like a complete 180 from the character we already know and love. However, doesn’t Sony own the rights to Mysterio? If so, it’s not impossible, however, highly unlikely in my opinion that he would show up in Daredevil. If he is alive I feel that Sony may want to save him for a Sinister 6 team up as well.
Cool idea but Mysterio's gonna have to upgrade his tech. Daredevil being blind is gonna be a problem for the whole illusion thing xD He's basically got spider-sense on all the time, which is the only thing that helped Peter see through the illusions
EDITH said there were no illusions present when Mysterio died, so illusion tech as a way of explaining Mysterio isn't dead is out. However, we've seen Nick Fury taking a drug that slows the heart rate to simulate death in Winter Soldier. EDITH is very literal and would not have understood the difference between lack of illusions and Mysterio being actually dead. Mysterio is so dependent on the illusion/drone tech that it makes sense he would have a card up his sleeve for a completely different "illusion" as a backup of last resort. This is how they will bring him back because of course they have to bring Mysterio back after only one movie. Being the main antagonist in Born Again would be great! Plus a Peter Parker cameo to help Daredevil understand Mysterio a little better, of course...
This is going to be a setup to MCU sinister six. Kingpin funding the team with Mysterio, Prowler, Hobgoblin, Chameleon, Bullseye. Daredevil and Spider-Man vs the Sinister 6!
I would love to see Richard Fisk (Rose) try to dethrone his father. They as well could introduce the Jester. I would love an accurate Owl instead of what we got in the Netflix series.
Although it’s a good idea, I think the Born Again series will focus more on Daredevil’s own rogue’s gallery. The MCU has been pretty good at trying to keep the villains of the projects to just the ones closely associated with that superhero.
It's definitely an interesting concept. My main concern is Mysterio's motives, he could go after Matt for helping Spider-Man but not for helping Peter, since he doesn't know who Peter is now, assuming he's alive and not a variant. If he's a variant, that's gonna be a really messy explanation. The ego boost angle, feels loose for a character that they made to be so meticulous. Either way though, with Spider-Man still out there it seems odd for him to JUST go after DD, and not SM as well. In terms of budget too, while we all know Disney has it, I don't see them forking out Jake G and / or Tom Holland money for just one or two episodes at the end of this 18 part behemoth of a show (which I really hope isn't a mistake). Long seasons of TV went away for a reason, and a lot of it was due to over-stretching plots and budget demands. On a personal note, if we get 18 half hour episodes I might just have to wait until they're all out because that release pattern has been torturous. I hate the way they cut these episodes, it kills all sense of tension for me. The other thing to consider as well is where does Mysterio fall, in the Sony playpen or the Disney / Marvel one? I couldn't tell you what the hell Sony is planning at this point but if they have further access to Mysterio, I really don't see them just giving Disney another go with him without being more heavily involved in the plot. I mean that Venom crossover was a nearly purposeless bone that was thrown to the fans (yes, it brought the symbiote into the MCU). With Tom Hardy already claiming to be ready to leave the role though, it really felt pretty purposeless. So while I'm sure many conversations are had between KF & AP, I don't think their cooperation is THAT symbiotic (no pun intended). All this to say, I think it's more likely we're gonna get a villain we haven't seen before. Could be The Rose, which would be very interesting and non-redundant.

A lot of Mysterios schtick is visual so I’m not sure how that works on tv with Matt. Matt sees sound bouncing off objects, if Mysterio is just manipulating light, there is no substance there for sound to bounce off. Honestly there are other characters I’d rather see go up against Dare Devil, like Ikari, Typhoid Mary, Tombstone and I definitely want a rematch with Bullseye
Yeah i thought it was a bit sus when spiderman said" is this real" instead of "is he still alive or dead" and edith said all drones werent protecting, HOWEVER we know that beck and his crew had their OWN drones before they had control over edith
I have long considered Mysterio's survival. While staring at his dead body, Peter asks Edith if it's real. She tells him all holograms are off. Also, I suspect Gyllenhaal wont come back for smaller TV show.
Holograms aren't the only illusion Mysterio uses and Mysterio had full control of Edith and had every opportunity to change her programming to allow himself an escape rout.
TBH, Daredevil initial custom was Gold & Red. Believe the issues were from 1 to 6. All most had them in sequence, could get the second issue in good enough condition - for the fair price.
Daredevil #14 is my oldest book. He's in the red costume by that point. It's not in the best shape, but I did get Stan Lee to scribble his name on the cover!

Tv is weird, if they make his areas animated it should be 100% fine. But LA could be 75% fine

That would be fun. I have a slightly different idea for the motive, just, we all doubt the completion of Strange's spell, right? But that this follows Agatha's show and some other things that could break it. And some people who might be exempt anyway (like Wanda).
I have had the idea that Jen does like a one to three episode arc, but that she leaves and is kind of hijacked by the TVA so that we all know she will be part of the big battle (I have this whole Deadpool gets caught by them at the end of his movie and she is his public defender but they both get caught up in the Battleworld). But it could also play into this that Matt doesn't hear from her and thinks she has moved on. It could be the romance angle of whichever Avengers movie they appear in.
Sony wouldn’t allow marvel to use him in a non Spider-Man project anyway, it really fucking suck that Spiderman can’t hangout around other heroes randomly without Sony’s approval while Sony is just there not doing anything with Spidey but with his d-list villains for some reason…

I like the concept mostly but I really don't want one of those seasons where the main character takes L's for 17 1/2 episodes and then suddenly wins in the finale. Would much prefer ups and downs, highs and lows, wins and losses etc. Those are a lot more fun to watch.

I think the main villain should be the Owl. Hear me out, Leland died end of s1 but said he sent his kids money. What if his son looks for revenge on Fisk, and then Daredevil stopping crime finds out its a plot against Fisk. The moral and emotional dilemma is perfect for the character deciding to help his nemesis

If we get another MCU story with Mysterio, I like the idea that Quentin Beck really is dead, but "Mysterio" is still "alive" because the team working with Beck is still using his image for their own agenda.
I could get behind your theory for the new Daredevil Born Again show. In phase 5 & 6 needs to set up one of these three plot points to end the multi-verse old war.
1. Create conflict between a group of heroes and villains for Battleworld.
2. Two further along the Multiverse, so arc with Kang the conqueror
3. A prelude to the SKRIL invasion of Earth.
I think when we were talking about theories and plot points, one of those three needs to be talked about in the theories because that’s where, in my opinion, all these shows need to leads us to. Along with sprinkling in the seven, which I’m assuming is gonna be the X-Men arc. If you pay attention, the MCU always gives us a taste of the next big “Phase Arc”. Example, Doctor Strange and Ant-man give us a taste of quantum realm in phase 1,2& 3. Doctor Strange introduced us to the multi-verse in the first movie self titled. That was in marvels first major ark. Now it is very very important piece of this arc. That’s why I say that. They’ve already given us a taste of the X-Men arc in Shang-Chi & Ms. Marvel, so far.

It would make sense. I wasn’t convinced that Mysterio died and I would hope that he confesses his crimes so that Spider-Man could be cleared of controversies unless they’re fully committed to the What If scenario of “What if Mysterio won?”

A cool idea would be incorporating what punisher says to dd in the Netflix series. How daredevil is one bad day away from being him. Maybe he loses both she hulk and the other girl. Then ultimately daredevil ends up going crazy and being one of kangs right hand man or for secret wars whoever ends up being that main guy, doom, beyonder or whomever.
I love this theory! Especially about Disney/Marvel adding some psychological darkness versus the violence in the original show. That way it doesn’t feel like a complete 180 from the character we already know and love. However, doesn’t Sony own the rights to Mysterio? If so, it’s not impossible, however, highly unlikely in my opinion that he would show up in Daredevil. If he is alive I feel that Sony may want to save him for a Sinister 6 team up as well.

EDITH said there were no illusions present when Mysterio died, so illusion tech as a way of explaining Mysterio isn't dead is out. However, we've seen Nick Fury taking a drug that slows the heart rate to simulate death in Winter Soldier. EDITH is very literal and would not have understood the difference between lack of illusions and Mysterio being actually dead. Mysterio is so dependent on the illusion/drone tech that it makes sense he would have a card up his sleeve for a completely different "illusion" as a backup of last resort. This is how they will bring him back because of course they have to bring Mysterio back after only one movie. Being the main antagonist in Born Again would be great! Plus a Peter Parker cameo to help Daredevil understand Mysterio a little better, of course...

Although it’s a good idea, I think the Born Again series will focus more on Daredevil’s own rogue’s gallery. The MCU has been pretty good at trying to keep the villains of the projects to just the ones closely associated with that superhero.
It's definitely an interesting concept. My main concern is Mysterio's motives, he could go after Matt for helping Spider-Man but not for helping Peter, since he doesn't know who Peter is now, assuming he's alive and not a variant. If he's a variant, that's gonna be a really messy explanation. The ego boost angle, feels loose for a character that they made to be so meticulous. Either way though, with Spider-Man still out there it seems odd for him to JUST go after DD, and not SM as well.
In terms of budget too, while we all know Disney has it, I don't see them forking out Jake G and / or Tom Holland money for just one or two episodes at the end of this 18 part behemoth of a show (which I really hope isn't a mistake). Long seasons of TV went away for a reason, and a lot of it was due to over-stretching plots and budget demands. On a personal note, if we get 18 half hour episodes I might just have to wait until they're all out because that release pattern has been torturous. I hate the way they cut these episodes, it kills all sense of tension for me.
The other thing to consider as well is where does Mysterio fall, in the Sony playpen or the Disney / Marvel one? I couldn't tell you what the hell Sony is planning at this point but if they have further access to Mysterio, I really don't see them just giving Disney another go with him without being more heavily involved in the plot. I mean that Venom crossover was a nearly purposeless bone that was thrown to the fans (yes, it brought the symbiote into the MCU). With Tom Hardy already claiming to be ready to leave the role though, it really felt pretty purposeless. So while I'm sure many conversations are had between KF & AP, I don't think their cooperation is THAT symbiotic (no pun intended).
All this to say, I think it's more likely we're gonna get a villain we haven't seen before. Could be The Rose, which would be very interesting and non-redundant.

That's a great idea. But I don't think Mysterio would be involve in a Disney+ series just because he's also a Spider-Man character which is a Sony property. He's in a movie that is distributed by Sony.

A lot of Mysterios schtick is visual so I’m not sure how that works on tv with Matt. Matt sees sound bouncing off objects, if Mysterio is just manipulating light, there is no substance there for sound to bounce off. Honestly there are other characters I’d rather see go up against Dare Devil, like Ikari, Typhoid Mary, Tombstone and I definitely want a rematch with Bullseye
Yeah i thought it was a bit sus when spiderman said" is this real" instead of "is he still alive or dead" and edith said all drones werent protecting, HOWEVER we know that beck and his crew had their OWN drones before they had control over edith
I have long considered Mysterio's survival. While staring at his dead body, Peter asks Edith if it's real. She tells him all holograms are off.
Also, I suspect Gyllenhaal wont come back for smaller TV show.
Holograms aren't the only illusion Mysterio uses and Mysterio had full control of Edith and had every opportunity to change her programming to allow himself an escape rout.
TBH, Daredevil initial custom was Gold & Red.
Believe the issues were from 1 to 6.
All most had them in sequence, could get the second issue in good enough condition - for the fair price.

They need a much better reason than Daredevil just being a random rebound nemesis, but with the right setup it could work
