Yeah it was never her music ability that was questioned. She was Faith No More royalty afterall. She just seemed to not know who or what she was. The impression of Kurt I get was one of a man who had many issues, but the most predominant one toward the end was his sense of being a failure as a father and a husband. His battle with Heroin was legendary and I've been through that battle. Despite what we feel, He loved Courtney. He loved his daughter and couldn't deal with the combined pressures of being a father, husband, rock idol, and heroin addict. When you are a junkie, all it takes is a bad day and a fistful of drugs to make you do something really stupid, selfish and tragic. That being said, Love you Kurt, Rest in Peace

Courtney sounds exactly like me after ive been singing for 3 or 4 hours. I have Singers Nodes on my vocal cords which give my voice a raspy sound that gets raspier the longer i sing at one time. I sing like Janis Joplin by the end of the nite. I had considered having throat surgery to have them removed by laser. I get really sick and tired of losing my voice for 2 or 3 days after Ive been singing alot. But ALL of my musician buddies said "NO!!! DON'T DO IT!" They all said they loved my raspy voice and that i shouldnt fuck with it. They also told me about taking steroids to help instead. So, i havent had the surgery and i do like the way my voice can be smooth or raspy as hell. Its my uniquely original sound and im glad i listened to my friends. But i cant help but wonder if Courtney has the same issue?! I have LOVED Kurt's version of this song for years, but now after hearing this, i can honestly say i Love THIS VERSION BETTER!!! Maybe its because Court sings it like i would! Whatever, its just fucking STELLER!!!
I actually find Kurt's voice incredibly annoying here, while Courtney's is palatable. Kurt often sang his vowels with what sounds like an Icelandic accent or something-fucking drives me nuts. Courtney's is shrill and she has her own vocal quirks, but at least she doesn't sound like Bjork choking on a drumstick.

Very cool! I was there that night. I didn't realize this recording existed. The amazing thing is they weren't even on the bill. They were the "surprise" guests. I remember before they went on how Kurt was just sitting down on the side of the stage strumming away and Courtney was bitching about stuff and yelling that she needed a stool.
my god when I first started listening I was like what fresh hell is this LOL?? Uh, his mic was turned up. Courtney actually has a more powerful voice than Kurt, especially when it comes to screaming and howling - which Kurt wasn't really known for. Kurt had more of a screech than a scream. Kurt has the better singing voice, though. :)

Courtney sounds exactly like me after ive been singing for 3 or 4 hours. I have Singers Nodes on my vocal cords which give my voice a raspy sound that gets raspier the longer i sing at one time. I sing like Janis Joplin by the end of the nite. I had considered having throat surgery to have them removed by laser. I get really sick and tired of losing my voice for 2 or 3 days after Ive been singing alot. But ALL of my musician buddies said "NO!!! DON'T DO IT!" They all said they loved my raspy voice and that i shouldnt fuck with it. They also told me about taking steroids to help instead. So, i havent had the surgery and i do like the way my voice can be smooth or raspy as hell. Its my uniquely original sound and im glad i listened to my friends. But i cant help but wonder if Courtney has the same issue?! I have LOVED Kurt's version of this song for years, but now after hearing this, i can honestly say i Love THIS VERSION BETTER!!! Maybe its because Court sings it like i would! Whatever, its just fucking STELLER!!!

I actually find Kurt's voice incredibly annoying here, while Courtney's is palatable. Kurt often sang his vowels with what sounds like an Icelandic accent or something-fucking drives me nuts. Courtney's is shrill and she has her own vocal quirks, but at least she doesn't sound like Bjork choking on a drumstick.

Nature takes risks when creating men and it needs consistency from women. I LOVE THIS ❤ !!! Ive never heard this duo version before but it totally kicks ass! I thought Kurt's version was the end all be all version til just now, hearing this! OMG! Its FUCKING AMAZING! Court sounds like me when my voice is just about gone. After i sing for 3 or 4 hours straight, my singers nodes are completely irritated to the point that my vocal cords are barely touching each other. Thats when I channel Janis. I always save "Me 'n Bobby MaGee", and some Alice in Chains for my last songs. I can't wait to start singing this with Kurt and Court! Honest to GOD, she sounds exactly like I do by the end of the nite! So COOL! My new FAVORITE SONG!

my god when I first started listening I was like what fresh hell is this LOL?? I thought that Courtney sounded pretty good but backing vocals were terrible, I thought who is that horrible woman doing the background vocals, then I realized it was Kurt OMG!! but two things, audio is making his voice sound higher, and second she was screwing it up for him, she knows he has a low tone but she started out with one lower than his, when she should have sung in a higher pitch!! I have to say though at 6:05 till the end, I had goosebumps!! I mean you could tell they were kind of competing with each other though. Courtney started it, but Kurt finished it and sounded better doing it!!
He could have harmonised lower or differently to courtney, there's no need for her to change her pitch if she is the lead!!!....LOL now his bad performance is her fault jeese. He just doesn't hit it.
