    The on road price difference (as of 5 April 2022) between the KTM 390 ADV and the 250 ADV here in Mumbai is around 1.2 lakhs which is HUGE! Then again the Duke 250 and the 250 Adv cost the SAME on road here in Mumbai so all in all the KTM 250 ADV seems like the value for money proposition when compared with other KTM motorcycles

    250 should have had Bluetooth connectivity and TFT display. It would have rocked the market .
    Even scooter are getting Bluetooth connectivity. KTM should offer more colours on both 390 and 250 ADV.

      What 250 required the traction control. Tft screen is not a problem at all. For a adv tourer the bike should have a traction control as the bike has no low end.

    What I do not appreciate about the Indian auto journalism is that they talk about the features and not the practical. Show me one person who can trash a bike on a 1000 km off road ride and give us the details of the money spent on the fork oil seal, brake pads, the chain sprocket assembly etc. To find out the best ADV, you MUST go hard on the real off-road pushing to the limits before you conclude whether it is a pussy or a tiger

      KTM are know for there light weight body and refined and powerfull engine. Dominar or enfield might have bigger engine then also they cnt beat KTM 250cc engine.

    With the same fuel tank capacity and extra milage with Adv 390, Adv 250 can travel further with the same full tank of fuel. The same suspension setup need fine tune for 250. Let's rock the jungle dude.

    I own one adv 250.. It performs great in off road.. slushy roads & pebbles on road & broken road or no road I have given it all in the northeast. It have taken everything without any problem that too with a pillion.. its really good on the road nd off road. i agree about the led headlight.. I am trying to install one on mine

      250 makes the most sense , it's certainly enough to ride at 100 km/h which is basically what everyone does, also I can guarantee no one is riding at 120 140 all day long😂
      if you are on a budget and you need an ADV/tour 250 makes a strong case.

    Hi, greeting from Indonesia. I have compared between these two since my friend owns the 390. On paper, the suspension travel is the same, but you'll notice the height difference when it compares side by side. I think the suspension travel on the 250 is shorter by 15-20 mm. What do you think?

    You have to understand 250 is pricier than 390 if you understand the psychology behind it. You are not paying extra 50 thousand for 390... You are paying way more extra if you are buying 250. Solution is if your budget is not for 390 then go for some other better bike like dominar.

    KTM probably missed a trick by not offering the 390 in the Dominar state of tune. Would have been way more manageable 'adventure' machine IMHO

    Why have they even put adventure tag if it is more suitable on road...I believe although with lesser power, himalayan is a better choice as an adventurer tourer with more practicality.. I hear ktm adventure is no way comfortable on off-roads so if one wants to buy ktm the simple ktm duke 250 is a better choice than this..

      What about the comfort riding in xpulse for so long journey is there any chance of ass explosion and thigh pain with back pain...What about riding above humps and gutters of indian pathetic roads....Any feedback from you will be a good note

Talking about bad road conditions suspension are soo good that I have stopped complaining about it 😂 there is no need to slow down on speed breakers and in pot holes ..... I have bs6 model and have done 400km ride on it recently no heating issue.......

      But there is some kick in cruising at 110-120 kmph which you can't do on Xpulse. You can get 28-r30 kmpl cruising at that speeds on ktm adv 390 which is amazing to be honest.

So according to my requirement I don't go on 200km + rides, 90kmph crusing speed is more than enough for me . And I'm mechanical engineering student and xpulse is my first bike as a student my requirement is too low I'm really thinking to upgrade to 390 adventure but only after my education . Xpulse is cheap to maintain parts are also easily available very less plastic than 390 adventure 😂

    Nice video.
    Just a question though. My daily run is 100kms to and fro from my office. The road involves mostly good tarmac and some bad patches. I own a Yamaha R3 but that has started taking toll on my 31 years age(which mostly comprises of sitting 8 hours in an office). Would it be comfortable or should I consider the likes of honda cb350 or re meteor? 🙄
    P.S. The commute is 90% highway and rest city.

      Of the two, the CB350 is better suited for the city. First three gears are fairly short. As always, test ride!

      both of your shortlisted bikes are for short city runs, go for a Himalayan, Versys 300. If there is no slow traffic then 390 adv might be worth considering but the thing doesn't like traffic.

    The 250 is the ideal for a new rider, the 390 is the ideal one for your second bike. So buy the 250, learn and then sell it and get the 390.

    The headlight and console set up on both the 390's are the same. Adventure and Duke 390 get led lamps and TFT display. Why did they not do the same for the 250's. I mean to say that both could have got led lamps and the lcd display of the 250 Adventure on the Duke 250
