The ABS relocation isnt as bad as you think. But definitely worth it imo. Cleans up the passenger side so much. Perfect spot for a catch can. Theres a video of the abs relocation on my channel if you have any questions!
This is an awesome series. You mentioned that you could have made the existing trans into an AWD trans. How specifically? Like what parts are needed to do that?
I wonder whether the crv subframe from around about the same year of the civic si would make life any easier for installing the rack and the spacing for the transfer case. Basing that off of the rsx platform, they use either the element/crv Evo king used the crv subframe for the type r. I feel like a crv subframe would be worth trying.
the only two guys that had did a awd 8th gens wont share how they did the subframe i know thw crv awd rear knuckle and axles work..but hopefully you can figure out the front section..i believe ypu also need the cut the rear floor to make clearance for the drive shaft.
You won’t regret the power steering rack because of the feeling. I hate the electric steering on my FA5. You will need the RSX pump and reservoir. The FD2 Type R comes with a power steering not electric. So that tells you it’s for a reason.
Never knew this. I have always liked the EPS, EXCEPT feedback. I feel like there is a disconnect between steering wheel and the feedback from the car. Back when I used to do mountain runs every month in a 2011 si I had. I noticed it had.
@ the electric steering rack at least for me feels way to light and it doesn’t have any weight to it. Also turning right feels different from turning left lol so weird. Yes I also feel a disconnect. I drove my friend’s S2000 that also has an electric steering rack, feels so much better and it has weight to it.
Pretty cool that the 8th gen chassis had an alignment tab / plastic piece that makes sure you align it straight when putting back in. Wish more cars took note of this. Guessing since it’s a service to pull subframe to work on the car they had to make it easy.
Blue Balls.. cause ya kno she gonna be a tease for awhile getting everything too work and due what you want it too due down too like hooking and fast 60 times ext 🤷♂️
People will do everything to avoid buying a car that came like this from the factory in the 1980s. Oem AWD Turbo rally cars from japan, guys like me switched to them an never went back to honda in over 30 years
Lambo and Audi in the garage and still wants to build a Honda. This dude is a legend
Nostalgia and childhood dreams are still a thing .
@ I love it
This build had my attention HARD dude.
I have a mugen and this is driving me crazy 😅😅😂
I would bet the CRV and Civic have a lot of the same/similar tooling for the undercarriage which makes it line up so perfectly! loving the build!
Appreciate you showing the process
can’t wait to get tuned by you🎉
I approve this build
You my idol bro 8 gen for life
what about think rsx ps set up its up on the fire wall and use rsx struts
Name it Milton that’s perfect
This would be awesome going up against an evo or golf r

There’s also the option of doing Prius or Honda fit steering column. They have power steering built into the column
Won’t a 04-06 crv/ element subframe work? Also maybe fab a subframe so can keep the eps

Dam that t case lined up prefect honda should of made an awd 8th and 9th gen civic 👀👀👀👍👍👍😎😎
Holden astra power steering pump or a VAUXHALL astra. The boys here in Australia 🇦🇺 use them in burnout cars all the time.

We here for the goodness 🎉🎉
have you considering a head cam? I'm not sure what camera you use but it'd be cool too see, and it'd be a lot easier to show things
This is what my fa5 inspires to be ❤
Why not space the subframe and engine down then space the rack up?
Why not use the CRV subframe?? and crv steering rack?
We use torches to get rid of critters

Front portion is already in process and recording videos how to make it work 😁. Thank you for you support and information!

im the only one waiting for that old track day vid
PEDAL TO THE GROUND 🗣️🗣️🔥🔥
There are lots of hydro-electric steering pumps. Vovlo, Chryco, Mazda all have them, should be easy enough to at least source a pump.
Hey man you gonna need the crv subframe same as devin did with his civic type r CRV SUBFRAME
Blueberry
Great video as always...
How do you align the steering rack back. I’ve always wondered how does the steering go back on properly with the steering wheel straight

@ appreciate the info and reply good luck on the build !

Why not just use a Porsche EPS mount? You can remote mount it wherever you want.
Mmmm well on the 9th gen you don’t have to take the steering rack to do that, I guess on tbe 8th gen is gen is different
Blue Balls.. cause ya kno she gonna be a tease for awhile getting everything too work and due what you want it too due down too like hooking and fast 60 times ext 🤷♂️
