What's your thoughts on this?
How many Gyms have you visited and trained in Thailand? Are you describing the experience from one Gym? Yours, where do you train?
@@z3rk545 hey man =) just do what I did and don't go to these overfilled gyms with 40 tourists in a class. Go somewhere local and outside, there you will find the traditional muay thai and training methods 😊 I was mainly at Muen Wai in Chiang Mai / Mae Rim, 40km from the city
If I decide to fly to Thailand maybe for a month or few weeks, in the next year, can I contact you?
One sentence:depends on the gym.
The old gym i went to is the exact same as gabriel described
While another gym i went to in bangkok M.T.A gym treats foreigners more like fighters if any of you guys want to be treated like a fighter go to M.T.A they also have great trainers this is coming from a Thai
Thank you for sharing your experience and recommendation 👍
I trained in a tiny gym in Chiang Mai, ran twice a day, sparred with Thai and Burmese, they have fought at lumpinee, channel 7 etc, they did everything with me, had 18 fights, they did make me run as much as possible, even when my shins were fucked, even trained me for free as long as I went to fight at temple festivals, had to go to villages to get matched up.
🤩
What gym is it? Pls let me know
Last summer was my first time traveling to Thailand. I trainend twice at a gym on Koh Samui and really had a great experience. Yes they also did warm ups with running around the gym and stretching, but the teacher went along as wel and set the pace. They really guided me through the training and gave a lot of details on body rotation, where to step, to move slowly and relaxed. Even the fighters were willing to answer any questions I had. No bad experience at all and definitely want to return to that gym.
That sounds awesome 😄👍 glad you had a good time! what gym was it?
@@muaymichael I went to Dowden Muay Thai Gym.🙂🙏
alright, gonna recommend this if someone asks for a good one in Samui 😄 thanks Michael @@user-ky8ew7jf3d
Your comments about you off / on relationship except Muay Thai really resonated with me. Im all in and love it.
Im really happy to watch your video as other videos ridiculing Thai fighters is embarassing and does more harm than good.
Hearing your own experience and respect for the Thai Fighters is wonderful. Respect, courage, humbleness and honour is what this is all about.
Im glad for your channel.
Thanks Clarke! I totally agree with you, glad to have you here too
Thanks for clarifying. I hear lots of bad things about training and fighting in Thailand, but it seems you have had good experiences. I hope to go there soon and improve my Muay Thai skills.
Great idea! Thanks =)
thanks for this riposte!
THANK YOU lol. I saw that video and he makes it sound way to black and white lol.
Yes, but also reading the comments shows it looks like everybody makes his own, special experience 😄
very interesting video, keep it up!
Thanks my Cod buddy 👍
I hope go there , for reset my mind , thanks for all!!
Thanks to you guys supporting the channel 🙏🏼
Tbh I think its also cause gabriel is a very experience fighter who has already trained his whole life and won several events. The training he was use to is probably pretty intense as well, that's why when he goes to some of the more relax gyms in Thailand, he may feel its easier than expected.
Yes could be
Thank you for the upload Brother! Well said Brother! I strongly recommend that you go & visit WMC Muay Thai gym in Lamai Ko Sumai. Here you will run two times a day it is not an option! You may also skip under instruction & or shadow box on tyres under direction in place of one running session. You do spa native Thai fighters again this is not optional you will do as you are told!
You are encouraged to incorporate what you have learnt in sparing at the end of each lesson.
Peace & Love!
Thanks for the recommendation sounds good 🔥
do you have any experience with accommodations that they offer?
Hello. I Would like to hear with are do you recommend for staying and training for a year in Thailand 🇹🇭?
Is there any gym recommendations that treat foreigners equally like their own fighters
My friend, do they have dit da jow in Thailand. In Hong Kong we martial artists like to use to heal bruises and sprained ankles by applying it to the affected area and gently kneading the sore area to encourage blood circulation for healing. It's a medicinal wine that I'm sure you can buy online as well? Just one thing after applying it though, wait for a few hours for the medicine to work before taking a bath/shower or you can apply it after washing.
Never heard, they use the yellow Thai Oil there 😄 I will check it out
It depends on the gym and on the person, like anywhere on the planet. There's a guy from Sicily, Luca Lombardo, that trains hard like thais and he shows this in his videos. Others like Gabriel, that is a 100% honest guy imo, have a different opinion and experience. Definitely if you want to get good at muay thai you should go to thailand, but it's not mandatory. Many fighters that beated thais never set foot in their country.
great video brother. random question but what do u do for money while living out in thailand? Thanks
Gonna make a video about it
brother, I'm just curious when did you start Muay Thai and martial arts in general?
Hey bro, I started exactly last year in end of october, there I was 26. Now 27 👍
Interesting, cool transformation btw! Doesnt running impact hurt the cartilage in the knees? Not tryna end up like kamaru usman
I have no problems with my knees, actually my overall bone mass and structure increased 😊 I made a tracking before and after thailand, I also reduced my biological age… local Thai food probably 😁
But thanks for noticing, I’m not familiar with his knees, gonna check it out
@@muaymichael yh iduno if its from wrestling or running but apparently its so bad he struggles to walk on concrete sometimes
Love training in Thailand. But be careful of the bacterial infection at busy gyms!
True 🙌
Hey man, just wanted to share that I had my first kickboxing spar today, and it didn't go as smoothly as I'd hoped. One of my sparring partners took things a bit too far and started making fun of me during the session. It was pretty disheartening, and I'm not quite sure how to bounce back from that. Any advice or words of wisdom on how to handle situations like this in the future......
Hey brother, don’t let this journey get ruined by a ****. I use that as motivation, but sometimes it can bounce you back mentally. Just keep training, go to the sessions, if someone is bullying you there all he wants is you to not show up again. Show up and train hard. In some gyms you have to earn respect. Keep going Champ 🔥
@@muaymichael yh man cause at one point he was taking it so far that my head gear was coming off and when I held my hands to stop he juts kept going someone had to step in and tell him to take it easy .... ngl I feel broken from this I wont quiet obviously but yh
@@aftershanman5928 can happen, some people can’t control their temper or are used to spar hard with their fighter-mates 😄 good job

Hey Michael, do you have any idea what that cream that cured your shin pain after your fight is called? My shins kill and I can’t stop thinking about that one time you talked about some cream that helped you get right back to training, if you could let me know you’d save my life😂
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ya_mong ?
Not right back, but it helped a lot 😄 Voltaren (orange one). And the yellow Thai oil helps too
good Video Michael! How could u affort living and training in Thailand? Did u work there?
No, working online =) cover it it soon in a few videos
Please do a video about it, I recently been in Thailand and fall in love with the country and Muay Thai but idk how I can go there again training all day without online/remote work
Cab i ask you how old are you bro? Id like to do the same thing and move to thailand for at least 6 months to a year to train thai boxing properly
Im 27
My take away was tourists fighters get hazed a bit or looked like you’re just a hobbyist where long term fighters get respected a bit more cause of them being in the life.
Hallo Michael , machst du in Zukunft etwas über den Muay Boran ? Lg
Gute Idee =) danke dir

@@muaymichael Hey bro! I'm heading to Thailand for 3 months of Muay Thai training. Should I train in your locality or in Bangkok? Any recommendations for a gym at each location? By the way, you're killing it-keep up the great work!
i dont belieav. i saw gabriels video last week and i say to my self that i wont to send it to you. you alredey respond to that video. by yerself lol
