Good choice. This is a great bike for everyday riding, crosscountry touring, off-road, and two up (DCT). Soak's up the bad quality of those insane backroad twisties. Super reliable and economical. Thanks man appreciate that. I was gonna keep my SAR to be honest for some wild offroad adventures and the Africa Twin for road trips....but now the SAR is just 5km away in my friends garage 😂🙈. It happend so fast lol
Why? That's an easy awnser. It does everything you want with logic, ease, comfort, and reliability. And if you whip it a little, it will bark and perform. DCT well....that is just great. For those who think they need a clutch and 160hp just to proof to be a real biker or man, ask yourself why exactly? To burn more fuel or to be approved? You won't go any faster, especially off road. That comment from fun fact was biting... and we understood what you meant. Honestly, people are weird, if there is a direct relationship between the waiting time for the GS and the sales of the AT, it's hard to understand. The AT and the GS are such different bikes, in every way, engine, dynamics, behavior, that it's not an alternative, but rather a completely different approach.
Yep I know , but if you see comments on my GS ASA video or any of my GS or Africa Twin videos you will see many comments like "Africa Twin or GS?" , ASA or DCT? So they are big competitors for some reason if I see all my channel comments. 😳
@LifeofSmokey you must feed the crowd, and I don't blame you 😁. For some reason, that me and probably you, don't understand. Probably is due the fact that Honda does not have a bike for the upper segment, and the AT is the last train station for the adventure bikes, and the people who want a adv boke and a Honda, that's what they get. Sorry to bother you, is a quick one. A friend of mine, love Honda, and in the past he had a Pan European. Lately he was riding the cross tourer 1200, great engine, but too heavy. With the pursue to go back the kind of Pan European, he bought the NT.. because he wants a Honda.. Well, he just bought it, to find out that the engine is too weak for his taste, and is already missing the bigger engine. Why he didn't searched on other brand with great options.. because he wanted a Honda. Is happening the same with the AT, and Honda is being smarter than the others, taking advantage of the reliability, producing a great engine but very cheap to produce, and charging 20k for it. No telelever, no drive shaft, no costly engines, etc.. and charging just 5k less than the true big trails, and selling it like nuts. Why Honda does not produce a bigger one? because they can make much more, knowing that's the only option, cheaper to produce, cheaper to sell.. everyone is happy.. till some of us, tries it, to find out is too limited, but it seems those ones, are just a small percentage.
Good for you! Interesting you say everybody wants to Africa twin but my local Idaho dealers don’t have them and have no intention of ordering any. So unfortunately, I’ll never get to sit on one or test ride unless I’m interested in ordering.😢

I never understood why Brits buy these heavy powerful motorcycles - some even have several of them. I do understand the motorcyclist fatality rate in the UK. It is 26 per 10,000 for a reason.
You made a big mistake switching from KTM to Honda. Yes KTM might have some reliability issues at the moment and arguably style issues, but they will sort it out if they want to stay in business. Honda will never ever sort out their ultra conservative bland performance. You’ve switched from a bike that will do power wheelies in third gear to a bike that probably can’t even do a power wheelie in first.
I bought the Honda as a fun cruiser roadtrip bike so It could stand next to my KTM in the garage...I work with all brands now so I can call KTM at anytime and pick a bike up for weeks. If you like doing maintenance yourself the Honda is a nightmare: air filter, engine access, valves, all terrible. I loved the Africa Twin until I tried one, found it boring, heavy, clumsy to ride. Just get a smaller capacity bike like a Norden and it will do everything better.
I like how you still loved my comment lol, hard to find people that can accept criticism. Doubt you'll be that disappointed still, it's a great bike and super comfortable, just not the best for the DIYer (but it's dead reliable) or for serious off-roading unless you are very experienced.
