Confused Between Two Worlds? - Yamaha FZ6N

  • This Yamaha does everything really well. In the manufacturer's books, it was a success! The thing is, for some people, motorcycling is more than just a means a transport... And this is where the FZ6N might fail.

      @@lennardrogge7752 it's a good affordable and reliable bike. It's a little heavy. I parked on an incline once and dropped it, I couldn't pick it up by myself right after a long ride. It has plenty of power for long rides and very forgiving in case you twist the handle too much by mistake. About 40 to 45 mi/gal. combined. 91 unleaded ⛽. I think it's a 5 gal. tank. Quiet stock exhaust, which I like very much, although at times I wish it was louder. It's my first bike so I have nothing to compare it to. I wish it were lighter just in case I have to pick it up by myself. I hope that helps. Good luck

    Nice video man but i disagree with your conclusion.I got the fz6 S2,its my 7th bike(kawasaki zxr 400,honda transalp 600,yamaha fzs 600 fazer,suzuki sv 650 and now to fz6.When it comes to performance its outstanding.Its not even comparable with the said king sv 650.Yeah ok got more rpm at lower revs but wasnt not even close as elastic as this sweet inline 4,smooth as a harley when you commute or cruise gently.It need at least 9k rpm to really perform what it can,and when its up there is a killer.Done straits with z750 and triumph 1050 tiger and pass them bot(not once,3 times light after light).When it comes to hadling,i puted pirelli diablo corsa 2.The bike haddles like on rails,it switch sides like a moped and got amazing lean angles.When it comes to commute its got a brilliant fuel consuption,i get 5.5L/100 with chill riding,commuting(when i rev it this going up to 7-7.5L/100 but you get the best out of it),you can pass everywhere if you close the mirrors into the traffic and you are tall enough to see ahead.Brakes (on my s2,see you got the previus with 2 piston calipers)are great,just as good as on the previous fzs 600 and thats a really good thing,but it gots by far greater back brake.So conclusion i see a perfect sportbike with acceleration haddling and brakes to match,commute with low fuel consuption and good pass throught traffic and bulletproof.
    So i like you review,of course i respect it(also done nice montage!),but the conclution to me its a lot different.Great bike,i will never change it.

      yeah i think he just misunderstands what kind of bike this is as it's easy to believe all naked bikes fall under the same name. the FZ can be called more of a sport naked bike or super naked. it's ment to be a sport bike without the fairings and not just a daily naked cruiser. there is a reason why the bikes rev high and that's because that's how you get the most hp out of a small engine. no high revs=not a real sport bike/ sport naked. the R7 is not even a R bike but rather just a MT07R that has a R7 name badge on it to make it seem cooler. people complain about the high RPM because they don't know how to use it. like the whole argument is that you have more power down low but that only really works for the first 50km/h as above that your high revving bike is gonna be within it's power curve. and if you are doing under 50km/h then you probably ain't even trying to do fast driving and acceleration to begin with so no reason to complain. my point is that the times torque and power att low RPM is necessary is when you ain't even needing it and by the time you need it you are already in the power curve of a higher RPM bike with out the benefits of high Revs

    The last part had me in tears..with the music...ur tone...haha...good review and good notes, to the point without dragging anything. I just had a ride on this a couple of hours ago on my buddy's fz6n. I do agree, it lacks character, cannot really place it in a category. But have to admit I did really enjoy riding it especially on the turns. I do see it as a good track bike for a beginner esp on a big track. I am considering it for myself...hence the search in YT for its reviews. Thanks for a good one.

      that's how high reving engines work. they sacrifice low end power to make more up top. you just need to get use to downshifting :) ones you learn what gear you kind of need att what speeds then you will find it alot less annoying. it's why i bought a gear indicator for my fz6n. just so i could more specifically know exactly what gear i was in. i also these bikes are considered more of a naked sport bike rather than just a naked bike like the MT-07. so the low lowend power is a design feature that is suppose to be there :)

      hornet has a pretty bad fuel consumption, fz6 has a way better fuel consumption, i would recommend sv650 too, instead of a f1-sound fz6, sv650 with that 90% crank v-twin (more like a L-twin lol) sound has a way too deep/bass-y sound more like a monster, tho as all v-twins vs i4, the i4 one will be faster at top end and more power near the 3/4 of rpm, v-twins have the power as soon as u touch the throttle. Both of em have the same fuel consumption, which makes them one of the cheapest non liter bikes to run... sv650 would be better street bike and more friendly with the speed limit, in my country the fastest speed allowed on highway is 130km/h so sv650 is more then plenty to go way past it, if u wanna leave the cops behind get the fz6, both bikes are cheap to buy 2nd hand...

    O sa las mesajul asta in limba romana, motivul il vei afla imediat. Nu numai ca este unul dintre cele mai muncite si foarte bine facute video de moto pe care le-am vazut (luand in considerare canale asemanatoare, nu vorbesc de fortnine sau alte canale cu bugete serioase). Mi-ar placea daca as vedea acelasi continut si pe piata din Romania. Un sfat nesolicitat este acela de a incerca sa replici acelasi video si in limba romana... Concurenta aici nu este atat de mare si s-ar putea sa prinzi o altfel de tractiune!
    Sport la treaba si Keep un the good work!

    • @KRANKiT
      @KRANKiT  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Mersi de aprecieri! Intr-adevar, concurenta nu e asa mare in Romania dar nici audienta nu este asa de mare. Chiar daca canalul e foarte mic deocamdata, majoritatea vizualizarilor nu vin din Romania oricum. Personal, daca pot incerca sa ajung la o audienta mai vasta si mai variata, prefer sa incerc macar. Plus, daca e sa privim in perspectiva, in viitor, daca canalul asta va prinde la un moment dat... Exista oportunitati mult mai multe atunci cand ai o audienta din tari care majoritar vorbesc limba engleza. Si aici nu vorbesc doar de monetizare, ci de orice tip de colaborari. Mersi inca odata :)

    Recently bought a FZ6 but indeed the lack of torque down low decided that I traded my FZ6 for a 98 speed Triple T509. The triumph is 7 years older and has double the amount of Km`s but boy do I like the tiumph way more then this bike. So much more torque and character overall. Nice video though!

    • @rampage3337
      @rampage3337 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      should last a very long time. they do have minor problems that can happen but nothing major. example is the front sproket has a non locking nut so you might want to change that for a locking one (newer models came with locking nut) som talks about clutch cable housing and minor shit like that to that you might whant to change out with other Yamaha bike parts like R6. but yeah nothing really major and they have ben known to be reliable. personally i have nothing i really want to change on my fz6n. did a new puig adjustable clutch lever and that's about it. gonna take a look att my front sprocket nut som day and see if i got a locking one or not but other than that it's mint.

    300km on one tanK? damn mine does a tank of gas in 1hour of riding time. think i got like a total of 50-100km my last full tank. and 7000rpm is not a huge RPM number for the power to kick in. you have a gearbox for a reason. low rpm torque and power is good for dirtbikes and stuff that you expect to race att lower speeds but not on something you intend to go fast on.

      @rampage3337 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      yeah you can almost guarantee when somebody's opinion of a sporty bike is ''lacks torque down low'' that they don't know how to actually shift. low end torque is good for what? like 50kmh and after that the higher reving engine is gonna wake to life and never go down to the low RPM's anyway so no need for that extra torque and power. i do see the appeal of low end torque but not for a bike ment to go 70km/h+ any time you whant to have fun with it. Motards and dirt bikes sure low end torque is great but you also stay within 40-80kmh range while playing on one so low end power makes sense.

    Your not riding it hard enough. Swap the fork oil. Stick some good tyres. And it can make a fool of many a big bike up the mountains. And then you ride home in comfort. I get it's not amazing at anything. But it does everything.

    This is funny. The bike is well known for being a Jekyll and Hyde. Yet it has no personality? It was a very deceptive machine. The S1's were in most part capable of 155mph stock. S2's were restricted(S1's in some places too).
    They can be driven on torque and shifted all day below 6k as a daily commuter. Very well behaved and well performing machines. They're a great touring bike if you equip them for it.
    The rise of the 650 class and the mistake of selling high top end performance bikes to inexperienced riders became quickly known to the industry and this was a bike that needed to be deleted.
    They're great machines. I don't recommend them for beginners.
