You can be proud of you, the society of today and the new biker generation run into the most expensive, the most powerful etc... they forget the peace to have a bike which will start everyday, and not stolen in every red light. The best bike is the one which no cost you much attention where you are not on it. Good work !
This is an amazing and unexpectedly good video on the FZ6. I came here as I own FZ6N s2 2011. I would call this video work of art. Camera, DOF, the sound. And the narration. Thank you!
First bike, bought it at age 31. The long powerband is a lifesaver on this bike. It’s sluggish at lower rpm, once you gain more experience add more rpms. These s1s are available with abs. I took it across Europe this summer with full camping gear crossing the alps and doing many hairpins and pulls after it. Then going home doing 150kmh on the autobahn. It’s a remarkable bike. It did lack a bit of torque going uphill with camping gear compared to my buddies boxer but that’s fine. I’m a beginner so it could be me.
@@axel-moto for real! im on my third bike, and going 50k miles on one is some commitment haha. I'm on a street 759 HD and I think it's the one I'll be keeping for a long time. very meaty for me, comfortable and super cool. I live in Memphis so ill probably only keep it till its stolen
Hey ! I just wanted to say that I absolutely love your FZ6 content ! You are the reason why I bought this as my very first bike a year ago. I love the FZ6 and it's a truly amazing all-rounder. Thank you for all the content ! Already can't wait for your next adventure ! Thank you Axel !
@@axel-moto I don't have any big adventures planned yet, I am however planning to go out camping for a few days with it in the next month. The Quebec province (where I live) is full of beautiful camping spots and areas waiting to be discovered ! I will surely be going out for my weekly ride until the end of summer. Winter sucks for motorcycles here ! Thank you again !
Extremely under-rated channel for the quality man! looks like you've been doing videography for years, amazing stuff! I could mistake u for a 500k subscriber moto-channel. Keep up the good work.
Great video and so true! I bought mine new in 2006. 18 years and +100.000 km further it didn’t let me down once. Still enjoying it a lot and can’t get to persuade myself of buying another (new) bike that without doubt will cost me so much more, give me more worries and probably not that much more riding fun.
looks like a great bike. It looks comfortable and overall looks great. What a good looking frame. And I was younger I always wanted an S2, maybe I'll trade my old Street 675 for one, who knows. have fun with your new bikes and share your thoughts
Listening to this guy feels like national geographic channel talking about lions, zebras and anthilopes. Except this is all about this mechanical beast. Tame when not pushed into a corner. @Axel, really great video, short and accurate informations, harmony of talking and silent parts for enjoyment of video scenes. The flow of informations is laminar, with masterful concept of storyline. Keep posting more.
Great Video! I love seeing long term reviews of motorcycles. Lets people know what is possible with these machines. I got a sv650 to commute on last year. Put 7500 miles on it in a year. I'm hoping in 8-10 years it will see 50k.
2 years now with my 2009 FZ6. This is my first bike so my opinion isn't as valid. I love this bike tho. Easy to take turns and get around town but also loves the revs. He wasnt kidding when you get past 8k rpms, its like the bike just wakes up and remembers it has the heart of an R6. Pushing 10k miles on this bike and finally considering an upgrade. Being 6'4 and weighing upwards of 230 lbs, I'm looking to get the bigger version of this bike, FZ1
Fz1 is a great bike as well. Not even much heavier, and really has that warp speed feeling when accelerating. More $$ on tires due to the torque and eats chains quicker too but the fun factor is definitely there. Thanks for watching!
I've been debating getting this or a FZ6R which is like the successor to this one. Your comment about the height actually helped me out a lot since we're both the same height and I really would prefer being able to flat foot my first ever bike. Shame because I really love the twin exhaust on this thing and the more upright sitting position but maybe the FZ6R is better for me. Edit: if you were on the west coast i'd totally buy this off you though! HAHA
Went from a 04 yzf600r to a 08 fz6 and while i feel like the fz is more flickable the 600r seems more powerful in the higher rpms even tho its redline is 13 instead of 14. I really enjoy how easily the fz moves around but it doesn't feel like it boot scoots to 135 like the 600r
FZ6 was my first bike, love the review! But I don't think you need to remove the side panel to adjust the rear shock. Stupid question, but have you tried going from the other side? Now I have an FZ1, it's a beast in comparison - you don't need 2nd gear to reach 90 mph :)
I have since this video traded the bike, but the other side was blocked by the exhaust iirc. It’s possible they redesigned it for the S2 or maybe the later versions post 2009 model year. Fz1 is a ln amazing bike! Crazy fast and better components, I love them too.
Hi, love the video tho! I have one question, I've been riding on 125ccm bike for last year and now I can upgrade and I was thinking about this FZ6 and yes I'm 18 but I would say I'm careful when it comes to riding a bike. What do you think about that? It's just one year of experience but still is something in my opinion.
Hey Tommy thanks for watching! It’s definitely a fast bike but the power is pretty linear. I don’t think it’s unmanageable, more a question of character - this thing can really put you in a bad position fast, and the brakes aren’t super good and there’s no tc/abs to save your bacon. I can say I would have gotten into real trouble if I had this bike at 18 but I don’t know your character. I didn’t make the wisest decisions back then and having this, I would have ended up in a ditch or worse. If you do end up getting the bike, strongly recommend track days to get better at high speed handling and braking 👍 also if you start going to the track at 18 you’ll be a beast by your mid twenties. Hope this helps.
I have a 2007 fz6, it so fun but after 8k rpm it gets really loud and sounds different so I usually shift before that, is that normal since you said that's where the power band is
Yup they downgraded a couple things. The forks, and the brakes especially - I think you have the blue dot calipers which came back for the S2 version. Also the engine on the original fazer 600 has more lower end pull (but also a lower redline and less peak hp) however this does make it more enjoyable when cruising. Also - and this is subjective - I think the old fazer looks a bit better. I might pick one up in the future since they’re so cheap and cool.

Totally agree!
I really like the older fazers, very beautiful

Sv650s are incredible machines too - very capable on the street, track and more. No doubt it will serve you well for 50k or more!
Ive been looking at a lower mileage one here for a min. This video helped me make the decision to go for it
You won’t regret it! If you can, get a S2 (2007 - 2009) since they got slightly better brakes, better looking clocks and easier to remove front cowl.

Where is that scenery from minute 1:25 to 2:00 ? ? ?

I think it’s a great second bike. It’s got power but it’s not unmanageable, cheap to own and decently easy to work on.

Yes, I traded it for another bike!
