    In 1994 I had a 93 XR 200 and my buddy had the 94 CR80 the CR would run circles around the Xr performance wise but the CR80 was nowhere close to the Xr200s reliability. I also had a 1981 YZ 250 water cooled that was super reliable just a absolute tank, I probably was 100 lbs and could hardly kick start that rig.

    I own a CRM250AR and love it. I also went to see the EXP-2. Let me share how ARC feels. AR combustion kicks in when you're running the engine right before it hits the pipe at around half throttle. When the computer determines that the conditions are suited for ARC, a solenoid clicks and the engine makes a different sound. You'll notice an increase in torque and the throttle becomes less responsive. It feels and actually is very lean. The top-end and low-end feels just like a normal 2-stroke. I know a few who owned the CRM250AR and we all agree that the ARC technology in not fully matured. The way that ARC kicked in and out was not smooth and felt like a switch got suddenly flipped. We all feel that if Honda could have kept development going on for another 10 years or so, it could have changed the whole 2-stroke game. When the CRM250AR came out, Honda already knew they could only sell it until 1999. This is because there was a new regulation that killed 2-strokes in Japan that started in 1999. I'm generally not a honda fan, huge respect on how Honda was determined to put this technology into production even though they knew it's inevitable daath. These bikes are really hard to maintain today and I've only seen a couple in the streets in Japan in the past 5 years. I don't usually comment, but this video was a bit personal.     My mates got one my mind was blown what a machine the greatest thingbno annoying noise im not against Ice engines butvthe facility's are always so far from suburbia due to noise restraints we could havevtracks closer to the city so people without access to trailers or vans are limited these will allow morevfutre riders to get involved in racing at less long term cost

    “Moto virus “ a french Suzuki team ran a RG500 two stroke in the 24 heuristic du Le Mans …….we were excited to be there , when it finished in 16th place in a field of brand new oil cooled 4 strokes we were over joyed. VIVE LA FRANCE

    Great Video. Again. Thank You! Let me add one point: Until last year KTM was the record holder of consecutive wins in a kings-class-motorsport-world-series with their 18 DAKAR wins in a row. Now TB with Montesa/Honda reigns on the top by doing so in 2 series! And they still compete and have good chances to put one or more on it. Congrats!

    Two Strokes don't have anything to do with the f****** emissions problem it was the large companies who wanted to change it up and create problems because two strokes were just too f****** fast they couldn't compete they had to bring them back down to two-stroke dirt bike you got a f****** be kidding me

    The best quirk I noticed, Maicos have low rise handle bars. My old 400 was a sit down bike and a mudder. If it rains to bad for the other guys. Can someone explain the geometry?

    As a 70 year old North American (Canadian) ,this sport went mostly unrecognized for the most part . I remember growing through my bike evolution and in the back of my mind this was interesting. While back in the 70s MX bikes became more appealing but again trials always haunted me. I have become a big fan of Toni B and just bought a 2009 Tony Tshirt. Always marvel at how this type of riding can be done . Way more skill than most motorcycle sports. It is on my bucket list to watch him live soon !

    I'll never forget watching the Dakar back in those days. I distinctly remember reading an article saying that KTM 950 had been clocked on radar doing 202km/h ON SAND! 🤯🤯🤯 It takes a special kind of Man to get those numbers on sand. What an absolute LEGEND! 🏆

    No company or market analysis is valid without discussing the impact of COVID . After Covid we saw enduro and HS entries soar by 2.5X and that meant a lot of new off road bikes were sold in 2021-2023 , creating a hangover in the market for at least the next three years . Dual Sport participation is steady to up a bit so seems ripe segment for profits . Remember sticker plus pricing for off road bikes and 6 month waiting periods to get most models . The other major factor ignored here is the ageing US population . More money for sure but slower replacement cycle . And there was the parts shortage from Covid era . No part - no ride - no need for new bike . The laptop computer market fell apart after Covid. Their response - use old chips and cut prices . $11K-$13K for a reliable , fast off road bike like KTM and Husky while Beta kept a lid on prices by freshening up old tech was a winning strategy for them . Too late for Husky to change strategy for off road other than to do like the second tier Japanese manufacturers did - bold new graphics only for a few years . The Mattighofen layoffs in engineering and production CAPEX reduction pointing to that BNG strategy. The money is in the parts and still too much back order lost revenue so they better fix that . Other than that , better have cash runway to weather the trough in the market. Undecipherable capital structure for Pierer Mobility makes forecasting their existence very difficult .

    after last years Dakar I got excited about the Kove450... its almost the unicorn bike we've been wanting from the big 4.. and then came the cfmoto 450... seemed to push ktm, royal enfeild and bmw to step up the small cc dual sport game...

    Question. Ktm has said that the first gen superduke should not be fitted with a quickshifter, since it could cause "catastrophic transmission failure" in their words. How is it been holding up? Any issues regarding the qs? Cheers.

      No problems. I haven’t heard of that issue ... there was a problem with first shifters that would cut ignition, but this is a later one which cuts fuel, so it should be good
