    Glad I watched this, it convinces me I don't need the fog lights. It's really disappointing that Honda made this as difficult as it is to install fog lights when they could easily have installed wiring for them ready to go when assembling the bike. No way am I tearing this much body work apart, nor am I going to pay a shop for the hours it would take to do it. I can live without them.

      I agree. I'd like to have these lights, but having to do this much disassembly is ridiculous. This is almost as bad as doing an air filter change. That would be the time to do this mod, but I'm not doing this much disassembly just to install these lights...

    During lockdown i had alot of time to attempt to fit my Pathfinder LED lights.on my Wing with Airbag. Found out its not necessary to remove the saddle and the mirrors and all the plastic fairings , its easy remove the plastic pins on either side of the inner area next to the control panel, pull up the edge nearest the control panel hard, the clips unlock and presto u will see 5mm allen bolts which u remove and this allows u to pull the control panel and fold it backwards in order to remove and replace the light button. I recommend care and protect edges with tape and a few clothes to proctect the tank etc. The only grief i had was the fuse box screw to attach the live cable to the screw a phillips, (i was told there are no phillip screws on the Wing too late) was so tight the screw was us...so a drill and easy out and all done...its a nice do it yourself but study what cruiseman does as it helps alot...

    Wow, really nice informative video. Makes me NOT want to trade my 2013 F6B for a new wing. Thats a lot of work. I did my own on my 2013 including installing a nice stock button. That is a lot of parts and panels to mess with. Not sure My heart can take that level of disassembly on a new bike. Good for you...You are more brave than I am.

    Hi , thank you for the video , ( yes I am very late ....) , once again it's very explicit and very well filmed.
    Just a little question, it seemed to me that there was a "dead plug" on the bottom right of the bike (on some years maybe...) available for the fog lights and controlled by a button to add on the console ? is it true ?

    I took mine to the dealer to have them installed also trunk rack and brake light. Today I noticed many push pins missing and at least 1 screw missing. Don't know what else they failed to reinstall. Just goes to show that dealers don't know how to work on them yet.Scared to take it back to them.

    I have a 2018 Goldwing DCT Airbag. I was told if I wanted the fog lights, not only will I have to buy the lights like the ones you installed, I would have to buy a wire harness that included the button as well. It appears to me your bike had wiring already installed and all you had to do was remove the dummy plug. Should that apply to mine as well and I don't need to buy a separate wiring harness?

    • @dr.freddyb.wilson4541
      @dr.freddyb.wilson4541 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nevermind. After some research, the place you connected it to was for the separate wiring harness that needs to be ordered. All the attachments you used comes with the kit and not with the fog lights.

    • @oklahomahank2378
      @oklahomahank2378 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The lights are not hard to adjust up and down, as they are held in place by a vertical mount. Moving them side to side is very difficult. Check your state laws on how high the lights should be mounted. In most states you are ok if the CENTER of the light that is cast is below the actual light at 25 feet.

    Have you ever used a Japanese JIS-4 screwdriver, they sure fit those "Phillips" head screws better than that square drive Phillips you are using here...

  • @jamesbottger5894
    @jamesbottger5894 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    That's a lot of disassembly! I think what you're calling "body clips" are actually called push pins...if you don't install the switch, will these lights work? You could just remove the the side, front, and center engine cowlings to be able to get at the plugs. Then the lights would be on anytime the headlights are on, and you wouldn't have to remove all of that upper stuff just to install the switch.

    Nice job again. You mentioned aiming these but didn't describe that process. Can I assume it's idiot proof? ;-)>
    IMHO fog lights should be a standard feature on this bike considering the price tag and Honda shouldn't gouge the buyer like it does
    On another note, I have noticed that you have removed and replaced the same components over and over as you've done various upgrades. It would be great to have a compiled list of upgrades that one can do whilst these major parts are off the first time (home link, fog lights etc.) in order to save time, possible breakage of clips and avoid the possibility of mis-routing of wires etc. If anyone has the knowledge to put something like that together, it's you! Again, thanks for sharing.

    • @cruisemansgarage
      @cruisemansgarage  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is pretty straightforward and the Honda directions explain how to do it. Basically, you loosen one bolt on the adjuster bracket and you have a limited range you can adjust.
