    Nice job, as always! Looks like WAY more light cast than the HONDA fog lights. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

    I like a driving light installation video that starts with, 'remove driving light covers', rather than, 'disassemble the entire motorcycle'. Easy installation, plus super bright. Rivco it is!

    I bought the hemostats. Heavier and sturdier, longer and bigger than I expected. Great! They're a better value than I expected. Many thanks for that tip.

    EHHXcellent! I was skeptical of having a switch that was not the OEM button but the switch placement is out of sight yet convenient. Not that I'll actually use it anyway, because, if I had the Ricvo driving lights on my '18 Goldwing, I would never turn them off anyway. Thanks for another great video Cruiseman!

    Another great video. I installed these lights three weeks ago and they are great in the daylight too. One note however. The GoldStrike Tiedown brackets use the same horn / fog light boss to secure the lower arm of their bracket. If both the tiedown bracket and lights are used, it pushes the lights off center to the plastic cover opening by the thickness of the GS bracket, 0.162". In my case, the RH side was okay. The LH side was too far off center. I knew that and talked to RIVCO before ordering them and discussed options. For the time being, I'm leaving the lights centered, and the LH tiedown bracket off.

    Great installation video, lights seem very effective. Checked Rivco link, $299.95 seem very high for simple kit, maybe cause it's new model Wing.

    Hey Chris I like you videos for years. On the Driving light installation @ 7:12 is that a stress crack on your frame below the weld? Please inspect that close maybe it was the lighting on the video.

    The install looks pretty straightforward and well described. Great job. I do have a couple of question. I did not see the switch. Is it an OEM or similar switch? And where it is exactly is the switch located? Thank you Alf 🇨🇦

    Great instructional video. I like the coverage that those fog lights give. The only thing I wish Rivco would use the Honda fog light switch. I am not fond of the Rivco switch. Santa purchased the big bike parts led fog lights for me. Unfortunately they are on backorder.

      An OEM-style switch may be a future option offered by RIVCO.

  • @jbernick

    How would one go about wiring these as to have them trigger on with the high beams? I currently have a pair of aftermarket lights on an FJR, and am powering them thru a Skene Intelligent Controller. I would like to do something similar on my 2018 Wing, which would give me a final setup of 10% power on low beams, and 100% when the highbeams are activated. Given the CANBUS system of the wing, I suspect that wiring would be different.

    Great video as always. I like the light these Rivco's put out but don't like the Rivco switch. Santa bought me the Honda fog lights and spent almost all day installing the darn switch in the console.. I was surprised you did not install the fog light switch it at the same time you did your HondaLink switches. I referenced your Hondalink install video a number of times to help me though the the fog light switch install.

    • @cruisemansgarage

      I think RIVCO may eventually offer an OEM-style switch for the console.

  • @Hogdriver88

    Amazing difference in light. Will the hi-beam wash out the driving lights? Also, is there an inline fuse in the power lead coming off the fuse block terminal?

    • @cruisemansgarage
      @cruisemansgarage  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, the high beams throw the light down the road while the driving lights provide a lot of fill light between the bike and where the hi-beams start illuminating. There is no in-line fuse (easy to add one). The ACC terminal is fused (3 amp, I think).

    Cruiseman- Love these lights. Can these lights be wired so they operate with your high beams using the OEM handlebar high beam switch? (If I’ve got to send a message to a vehicle about to turn left in front of me I want to be able to give them a full on frontal blast of light). That is in addition to this new Wings great horn.

    • @cruisemansgarage
      @cruisemansgarage  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you use the RIVCO wiring harness and switch, then it bypasses the Honda switching altogether. That means the fog lights will remain ON when you hit your hi-beams. However, there is no way I know of to have your hi-beam switch turn ON the fog lights.

    I heard that the Rivco lights draw more power then the factory LED Driving lights, with that being said, I understand why Rivco is using a relay and external connection to the battery. But, what I don't understand is, instead of using the switch, why don't they use the factory headlight connection to actuate the relay? This way you can install the factory switch and everything is neat.

    Hey Cruisman, I installed the rivco driving lights on my 2018 wing. The installation went good as I followed your installation video. They are super bright at night and I love them when I can use them. I mainly put them on for better visibility in the day time so oncoming drivers can see me better. Now when I use them in the day time I have some drivers flash their lights at me. They probably think they are too bright and are shining in their eyes. Lately I have not been using them because I don’t want to annoy other drivers. Any ideas on how maybe I can dim them during the day time? Smoked lenses or maybe a dimmer switch? Bruce Spicer, Hastings, Minnesota. PS the riding season is pretty much over now until next spring.

    Hey Cruisman, another great video. Question, does the main power dial kill the lights when you power down or do they stay on. Either way think I'm going to invest in a set. So much brighter and the install looks sooooooooooooooooo much easier than the OEM version. Tks

    • @cruisemansgarage
      @cruisemansgarage  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, when you turn off the bike, it kills the lights. The ACC terminal on the fuse box is a SWITCHED terminal, so it only gets power when the bike is running or in ACC mode. The lights are SUPER bright.

    Lights work good. We just got the rain you got late yesterday and it was a lot of rain...
    BTW; Those horn bolts are not 12mm, the bolts are probably an 8mm that takes a 12mm wrench.

    • @MotoRideswJohn
      @MotoRideswJohn 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      While I can't argue against your statement, I would only add that most of us only are concerned about the tool that is needed to do the job, not the specifications behind the fastener itself. For example, when I'm removing the bolts that hold the seat in place, I know that I need to reach for my 5mm hex driver. Knowing the thread does me no good.
