    Man, I can't thank you enough for making all these videos. I just bought my very first Honda Glodwing - an F6B, actually - and I got tremendous knowledge from watching all your videos. I just had the 2016 F6B delivered Sunday, but I couldn't get plates for it till my VIN inspection appointment today, so I hadn't even ridden it at all until today! Anyway, I bought it back in June from a dealership in Iowa, and contracted with Haul Bikes to have the bike shipped. They took 60 days to deliver the bike to me. In the meantime, I ordered a Madstad windshield, PathFinder LED low and high beams, Dynamic sequential LED turn signals/DRL's, and the PathFinder LED rectangular driving lights with turn signals and DRL's. So I installed everything on the bike today, and flew right through it cause I had watched all your install videos for these items so many times while waiting on my bike to get delivered. It was a breeze, largely due to your wonderful installation videos. Thank you so much! BTW - I was amazed at how wonderful my new (to me) bike rode today. I'd never even swung a leg over a Goldwing, but knew I couldn't go wrong with a Honda.

    I just installed these on my 2013 GL1800
    OMG! Fishing for the turn signal wires was a nightmare! Also damn! Putting the front lower cowl back on is not easy! While everything fits well and putting the two little push pins on first was absolutely invaluable, it was still a very difficult task to actually get the two bolts on the face of each side of the cowl in. The whole cowl just seems to naturally sit back some, and I think on the left side that plug for the fog light that we take the tape off, that seems to want to stick out some sp
    I had to kinda Jimmy it into a spot I could push the lower cowl back enough to get the bolts to start! Wasn’t easy doing it sitting on the ground!! Gonna get a J&S lift after this project lol!
    Total time for me, outside and working at ground level was approximately 5 hours

    Received my pathfinder driving light and put on my 2013 Honda f6b was very easy to put on but I did Find a couple of small issues with the set I received. The screw on the outside of the driving lights you are unable to get a screw driver on the screw. I had to take the light off the bracket in order to attach the light to the mounting plate. The other small issue is that smaller screws should have been sent with the kit for the light switch the screws on the f6b blank are too long for the switch so I made a nylon washer to make it fit better. Other than that very happy with the looks functionality of the lights . But the small issue with not being able to get a screw driver on the screw really needs to be addressed.

    • @cruisemansgarage

    • @raymondpontremoli4500
      @raymondpontremoli4500 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep, you have to take the light out of the frame, mount the frame and then put the light in and secure it with the two side screws....You cannot get to the one screw its hidden behind the light

    For anyone who owns this for light, if for some reason they stop working, test them by using the jumper that comes with kit. If they work, then you know you have a bad 12v relay.

    I installed them on my F6B, and also bought the F6B mirror connectors as well as the resistors. Everything is done and working but the turn signals flash fast. I also put in the Pathfinder LED bulbs in the rear turn signals and the front (not the sequential). I thought with the resistors, that I would not need an LED flasher. Am I missing something?

    I installed these on my 06 Wing and found that the RF noise from them interferes with the CB (squelch from 4-5 to 11-12) and my toll tag no longer works. I tried putting chokes on all the wires close to the lights, but it did not help. Love the lights but cannot live with these two problems. AM radio confirms the lights are blasting out RF. Wish they were DOT/FCC compliant.

    Considering the price of the Gold Wing, and the Valkyrie, Honda should have included the driving lights out of the factory, and not as an option. The price Honda wants for the lights even without the installation is a ripoff

    • @cruisemansgarage
      @cruisemansgarage  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      If Honda included the fog lights, the price of the bike would be even higher.

    Excellent video, but I would not recommend using a Dremel tool to cut the lower cowl. The tool is too clumsy to maneuver, and it becomes too easy screw up and have the chuck rub against the cowl and mar it. Don't ask me how I know this. I would use a hack saw blade to cut the sections out then and use a sanding drum on a Dremel or a file to then clean it up.

    • @jeffdaniel7627
      @jeffdaniel7627 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you mean the flasher kit? I don't know what "adapter" refers to. If it's the flasher you are referring to, (fits behind the nose of the B), the answer is no, you only need one of those for the entire bike, and you took care of that when you did the turn signals.

    Just started to install the switch for these lights on my 2008 GW. In short, the switch is too large to fit in the switch panel after removing the blank and the new switch retainer does not align with the original screw holes on the back of the switch panel/housing. What am I missing? How to solve?

    • @cruisemansgarage

      Cruiseman's Garage Thanks for the reply. I intend to speak with SoCal today. I live in Grapevine. I don’t know if that within your emergency services zone, or not! ;)

    • @cruisemansgarage
      @cruisemansgarage  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jeff , is the OEM switch you have from SoCal the new Green LED switch?

    • @RedCloud-bg8vd
      @RedCloud-bg8vd 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cruiseman's Garage, in conversation with SoCalMotor, the issue was resolved. Even though I indicated the correct year of bike (2001-2010) when placing the order, I think the lights are pre-packaged with only the switch for the 2012+ MY bikes. If SoCal catches this when the order processes, they ship the appropriate switch for the 2001-2010 MY’s, as a separate item with the order. So what’s the difference between the switches? Well, not much! However, the differences are critical. For the earlier model bikes, the ‘tabs’ on the white switch retainer (through which the two small screws pass, securing the switch to the mounts molded into the back of the switch faceplate/panel) are slightly narrower and the entire white retainer is about twice the overall depth, as compared to that on the 2012+ switch. SoCal sent a picture of the two switch assemblies and the issue was immediately apparent. Thank you for your sincere curiosity and follow-up. Can’t wait to receive the correct switch on Monday!

    My friend just bought these lights and they are a great package. We did the installation and fished the wires down, which was allot harder than I had thought it was going to be but once we got the first one done the second one was a breeze. Here is my problem if anyone can help me. After installing the switch in the radio control panel I cannot find the connector on the motorcycle that should be part of its wiring harness...We looked everywhere in that space and cannot seem to come up with there that connector is. Can you give me a better idea of where that connector is located in the wiring harness..??? Does anyone know that can help, I surely would appreciate it. We put it all back together so he could ride the motorcycle but the fog lights are not plugged in so he only has the lower driving lights and turn signals...We need to find that connector and we are done.

    • @kennethsouthard6042
      @kennethsouthard6042 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I know your question is old and you have probably figured it out by now, but I will answer for the benefit of others, as I also had the same issue myself. I found the boot that contained the connector below the radio control panel. For whatever reason, I was looking above it. In that boot on my F6B, there were three connectors and I had to strain to be able to see it. I tried to plug the cable in with the limited access that I had, but unfortunately, I could not get the plug into it without cutting the boot, which I then zip corded back together. You should be able to plug it in without cutting the boot if you remove the fairing piece that also contains the left side of the tank cover, but unless you are also changing the air filter, you will probably not have removed that section which is no picnic to remove.

    These are very nice DRL and Fog lights but the turn signals are very weak.... If the signals were twice as a bright as they currently are then they would be perfect....With stock headlights, the turn signal maybe bright enough but with LED 6000K headlights and the fog lights on the turn signals are getting over powered.
