I love her cigarette lighter. It looks like a perfume bottle from back then.
They do look like it but it's not intentional, and when you see one close up, it's quite different tbh. My folks have an old smoking set from the 70's... I think it's made out of mother-of-pearl or something of the sort. The lighter looks just like Alexis' own, but more of a buttery yellow. It's heavy AF too... I'm sure a character like Alexis won't think twice about throwing it at someone's head 😂

I love the slithering Alexis "theme" music that comes in at 1:09.
I think the composer were given the scenes to watch and composed the music to match the dramatic scene exactly. Big ass budgets for TV allowed for it back then.
Alexis was quite beautiful but she definitely had an attitude problem
She loved Blake and because he couldn't reciprocate, she became hateful. She never stopped loving him though... when he got amnesia she pretended they were still married and professed her love. Really, it's tragic.

If one was looking at the script & didn't know who the characters were, one might think the man was Alexis & the woman was Blake.

I hated self righteous Blake and was not a fan of John Forsythe either . He was very jealous of Joan’s popularity when he should’ve been thanking her instead . It was her portrayal of Alexis that made the show awesome.

The pilot episode and season one of Dynasty was so well written and acted
And this is coming from someone who only saw the series when it was released on DVD in the UK in the late noughties. We also got full sets, they weren't split into two parts like in the US and they were released more quickly in the UK too
Instead of chasing Dallas in the ratings, Dynasty should have gradually built up its audience and its character driven early storylines would have won out eventually
The addition of Eileen and Robert Pollock (Pillocks) as head writers was a big mistake, they turned the show into high camp drivel
No wonder Pamela Sue Martin bailed after the end of season four
When David Paulsen, former Dallas and Knots Landing surpervising producer came in as showrunner in season 9, he injected a breath of fresh air into the show
Had he been lured in earlier, say from season six, the series would have been so much better

Well kinda because she stole the mansion and the oil company in season 6. And then season 9 was good but the ratings fell and ABC cancelled dynasty after 9 year's and ended it with a cliffhanger. they had the mini series that showed what the Carrington family and Colby's where doing after season 9. Where basically Blake was in jail for 2 year's and his 33 bedroom mansion went up in auction and Alexis bought everything but other than that Blake always was one up.😂

stupid line....blake may have done many things....beg for mercy at the feet of Alexis..nvr....there was a female associated with dynasty...that was behind much of what we saw during dynasty...alex on top of blake at colbyco much bigger than DC...twd the end of season 4...alexis has brought blake to his knees with dc being foreclosed on...andrew telling blake u r sinking fast..if you have an ace...its time to use it...he then gets on the phone with alexis admin assistant and demands to see her...he does not care how busy or rushed she if...he then comes to her desperate attempting to sell her his shale oil process Colby co has 150k acers that is useless without his process and she tells him he is out of touch and misguided because colbyco cld afford to plant daisies on the 150k acres...
It feels so good to have Alexis dish it out back to that patriarchal sexist misogynist greying dinosaur with bad breath called Blake Carrington. Ah so satisfying. Thanks from all of us, Alexis!

Alexis- a really powerful woman should NEVER, EVER threaten an opponent. To do so puts them on guard. Get your revenge, but do it subtly, and with devastating results.
It's a fantasy soap. Alexis threatened Blake and Crystal in almost every scene in order to set up future scenes. I'll get you for this. You won't get away with this. I'll take my revenge. Just wait and see what I do next. You don't know what I have planned. Be careful, Im coming for you. These were the standard lines to make it clear to the audience that Alexis would now go on to her next race ridiculous scheme to ruin their lives. She's the wicked queen in a fairy tale.
