- Single x12 Sundown 2x2 direct 1ohm on 1ohm 5k ground zero up to slight clip. Sub handle it with no problems. Box tuned to 34hz. System specs:

Dude for a second I thought you was one of my buddies 😂 you look identical to him 😂 like seriously y'all dopplegangers aka basically twins 😂. And he also runs a single sundown sub but it's a Zv6 15" though but the box looks identical 😂 and also a hatchback. Its crazy I legitimately thought you was him lol. Anyway man that's pretty impressive for a single 12" woofer.. it's doing work that a single 15" does.. keep up the good work n keep bumping brother. Really nice lil setup you got going on.

Hey sub sounds really good I'm torn between if I should get a x12 or the zv5 12 is it a big difference in performance?
Dealed with both models. The Zv haves a bit more punch and can be used up to 8k. Will give you a db or two more in perfect conditions. X is a bit more accurate playing imo. Still both are windy and good subs.

my build is similar....1 X12 V2 in 2.75 32hz box with 2000watts. going to a mazda 3 which is a really small car!
It's getting 5k peak to this sub? How much rms are you feeding it? I just got my first sundown yesterday same thing so I'm curious on what people feed them
5к soundigital amp. Its not feeding it 5k due impedance rise. But 5k amp is just right for it after the percentage of losses. 3k amp is not enough.

What box are you using? I have the X12 V.3 D2 in a ground shaker tuned at 30hz and not the results I was hoping for.
93 liter box, tuned at 33 with 8inch pipe port, long 48cm. Peaked at 34hz, results were around 148db when measured.

Nice set up what amp did you pair with it I got the same sub with a 3 k alternator upgrade and a big three debating on slapping 5 k to her
5k Soundigital . Used 3k and it was not enough. With 5k bangs on a new level.

Hey man awesome setup, I have the same sub with a crescendo 4k and it is no were near that loud. I can only turn the gain up about a quarter before I start clipping. Stock electrical besides Big 3. What else should I do? Thanks!!
Well in my case only the alternator was the stock one, 90a. (Later on started to show signs of being tired of my bs)
Your big3 must be with minimum 0 gauge clean copper wire. Also are you running lithium or agms ? Lithium kept my voltage higher and also provides more amps. Aalso is your enclosure big enough? I noticed many ppl using these sundowns in way to small boxes.
@@blackflworer could voltage drop be my reason for clipping? My battery is Agm I was looking at a XS power lithium LI-S545. With some frequencies I’m dropping almost to low 10 volts. My box is built specifically for the subwoofer

@@LSXTyler yes voltage drop leads to clipping. Especially if you play in them 12s or low 13s. The amp can't provide its ratings. Also if your enlosure is too small it will lead to big impedance rise.

Alot better. I used to run Agms, and the difference is like night and day. The system plays louder, hits better, and voltage is way more stable.
Ok thanks but i have to run the whole car over the Yinlong bc 2 different kind of Batteries is no good do you think it will make a big difference or how did you do it?
@derallerechtemedic3654 i used to run them together at first, but the agm discharges the lithium slowly after you turn the car off due to different resting voltage plus I guess its not good idea. After this, I use only the lithium bank, and all is fine. The car starts just fine.

Home made box , tuned at 33hz with 8 inch aeroport. Its a bit oversized and that why i shoved a pillow inside it.

This is probably a dumb question but can you wire down to 1 ohm with a Dual 1 ohm subwoofer? Or does it have to be Dual 2 ohm.

First i tried it on 3k but then i was like "meeeh whatever" and put a 5k. Aslong you dont clip it and play it out of the tune setting its safe to be used on 5k.

We owned Sp audio sp15cxx in another project, that thing was bottoming out very bad, lower score and in total bad build. Small spider , big surround.
I have a x12 v3 I was wondering if I could put a sfb 5k and have any problems?
Will be ok lol. I have x12 v2 thats 1.5k rms and handles the 5k. But sfb is shit amp avoid it. Go for SD or Bass 5k

I was looking at the S6220BS it looks just like it but was wondering about the exterior of it, the specs seem good, but i have to replace my DEH-80PRS with a diff unit unfortunately, I cant find another one rn. Anyway, the volume knob, is it shallower than usual knobs on pioneers? If so does it bother you or? I use the knob a lot when I spot cops and what not to avoid any citations, just wondering if its as short as it looks online
@Luminous.Dynamics nah, the knob is just fine, ez to reach, sensitive and fast, i get the vol in single spin. Yes, it's not that big as on the older units, but its nice. I have this headunit since 2020, they still sell them and many take them due to their quality and big amount of sound settings. Its not a prs for sure but its more than good for the price, its like 140usd in my country.

You're putting 5k to an x12v2?
I use 5k amp on x12v2. The 5k wont output 5k since there is impedance rise you know. Probably 3k at best. I try to drive it clean no clip at all.
What is the thickness of the box?

Sundown X12 V2 nice pushing a Orion HCCA splx 3k.1 went them and I'm am very in press other power they can handle ain't really push my Orion HCCA splx 3k to it's full power cause if u know about Orion HCCA splx amp are known for pushing more power then what they say

Full 5k on the sub? I bought an x12v3 and a 4500 watt amp. The rms is 2k and tgis is 5k? Hows the sub? Im buying a other sub and another cab 45 amp. Can i run 4k on each sub?
The sub is well, I paired it with 5k because many factors as boxrise drop power so if i have 5k amp from all the the power the sub wont see nore than 3...3.5 in the peaks. Sub coil is like new, havent smelled or heated, I just try not to play way out of tune. The v3 (mine is v2 1500w ) is even stronger so 4k on each is totally safe.

@@justinjones5302 yep, i have a 26hz box too, its even better. X series are good for the lower bass. Dont go up than 33hz for tune. 30..29 would be the sweet spot. Maybe add one more bank of lithium for the 2 cabs, wont hurt. I see soo many ppl underpowering these X subs it hurts. If you know how to use it and dont clip it they are champs.

Nope, not at all. Gets a bit warm on touch on the dustcap, but no smell at all.

@rebassedmuziknl8432 its perfectly safe to run your v3 on the SD5k. Just don't clip it and don't run it too far from the tune settings of your enclosure to avoid damaging it from too much excursion. V3 imo tends to sound more like a zv while the v2 counda likes the low lows more, or its just personal experience.
