My Mother had a 1960, gray with white roof,2 door, bought new in 1959. Families first new car. She sold it in 1977, no rot and ran perfectly. Wish you much success and fun in this little gem 😉👊👍✌
I used to have one of those. 3 speed with an overdrive. Yours is in much better condition. Mine sat out under a fir tree, had great big holes rotted in it
fun! still had the flathead this year...googled it and looks like OHV showed up in 60. another thing discovered is that the flathead has no external intake manifold...its basically internal to the head...clever way to keep tooling costs down. yea, that def banged into gear...at least the trans is engaging. good choice on sanding back down to the pink
yeah its a fun one and I'm super excited to be getting progress done on it. I plan on getting it repainted but for now getting the pink back will be fun. the mounts on the engine and trans are thrashed so once I replace those and get it dialed in then it will be so much better. Luckly all gears work and shift smoothly, It only has 57k original miles on it so not to bad. The flathead is an interesting engine for sure, its my first one actually. I know they made a performance head with a two carb intake that I would love to find.
I have the same car and am needing to replace the fuel pump. Did the spark plugs, fuel pump, repointed distributor…. The air filter is some crazy welded thing with horse hair or some shit inside….hoping to get her running before summer begins!!!
It's a great car. I have over 100 videos on repairs and improvements to the Rambler if you need. And give me a shout if you need any help. I'm an expert on this car
Thanks for reviving a nice little rambler!!
For sure!
love the bumper music.

Sure send pics to CarysGarage@gmail.com
Make sure the trunnion bolt in the front A-arms gets grease...if it breaks, the front wheel will flop in. I won't tell you how I know.
That happened to my Mom's when I was about 8years old. That sparked my interest in cars/mechanics, watching my uncle fix it.
Good to know! Thanks for the info.
