Thanks for keeping us apprised of the progress. It's one thing after another for a while. I look forward to the time when you can drive it daily, or better yet on an extended drive to another county. That's a great car.

Thanks! I am looking forward to being able to drive it on a trip. The time will be fairly soon as its getting decently sorted.

There are respected rebuilders who can redo a water pump. Good luck with the flathead.

Thanks. Yeah unfortunately where I am there isn't any so I would have to send it off. Im glad I was able to get a rebuilt one to replace it with.

Ikr. Im slowly sanding down to the original pink. It will do till I can get it painted. Also you should see the dash, I started waxing it.

Great job keeping this car on the road. I suggest giving it a thorough cleanup.

Despite all the issues, the engine sounds pretty nice.
I imagine for the fuel fill piece you have to use pretty specific materials because it comes in contact with petrol...just spit balling but could you get some appropriate sized rubber tubing and just bend it with the hot water trick (similar to working with pvc) and just make your own? Probably a dumb idea but it's what I got

Currently going through water pump problems myself on a 1965 Marlin I recently bought.

Oh fun. I have a whole pile of AMC water pumps. Not sure what they all fit to be honest

Can you tell me where you found the water pump. I need one and am struggling to locate it.

I thought Galvin's Rambler Parts in Oregon had reproduced those molded filler necks. If you have not checked with them, I suggest you do that.

They have the one for a 61 American, not a 60 :(. I called and talked to them for a bit, they haven't reproduced this one yet.
