I miss the days when musicians actually had talent.
Here's one I produced in my brother's Tallahassee studio, Sweetbay Studios, in 1974. David Griggs wrote and sang it. I got to engineer, produce and play guitars and synthesizer parts on it. Richard Bevis on drums, Lynwood Shaw on bass. Best time of my life ...
Real music. A million times better than any so called music today.
Their Champagne Jam at the Georgia Tech Field was one of the greatest rock festivals ever.
I was there 👍
This is the REAL ARS. Real ARS has the big guy on the BASS
Paul Goddard IS the man.
RIP, Paul Goddard...
I just wish we could turn on the video channel and see these guys there today. They're the real deal. I just love these 1970's bands. They dress nice and they sing their own songs and play their own instruments. It would be nice.
I've seen ARS many times with their best..and to me..their only lineup.
Ronnie Dean Barry JR
Paul and Robert.
So DAMN GOOD
And so UNDERRATED as a band. These guys were AWESOME..and so was the band.
Big time.
My personal favorite band.
You and me both
Many very many people may not apply. Be careful don't let the dead bury the dead unless you call the shots. ... .... To the core comes hard. Hard to the core understands where you came from.
You can bet your sweet ass you learn to let the dead bury the dead. Badass can't save no one in the end... Hard to the core ...
You can bet your sweet ass moms and dads paid attention... ... .. .!
Love me some Ronnie Hammond.....you are truly missed
Yes sir.
Ronnie Van Zant(Lynyrd Skynyrd) thought alot of Ronnie Hammond & said he had one of the best voices in the business.
@GWard-hz5wj
Completely agree; his voice was smooth......just absolutely smooth.
ONE MORE TIME!
RIP Barry Bailey... One of the greatest !
Sadly rip Dean Daughtry last surviving and classic member died earlier today, so everyone including the band’s manager have all been gone 😢we should play Atlanta Rhythm Section tonight
one of the best southern bands of all time!
J.R. COBB what a guitarist!
Definitely underrated.
When Chamblee and Doraville we’re laid back small towns outside Atlanta… and Studio 1 put out some great music.
And now, unfortunately, it's an industrial park😢
A Rock and Roll Alternative was one of the truly groundbreaking albums of the 70s. Paul Goddard is one of the great geniuses of the Rickenbacker bass. This is simply perfect.
How about Dean Daughtry on the piano
@@marshalllanier360 that's what gets my attention on this track,
I'd say Chris Squire had a pretty good handle on his Rickenbacker
@@bikerhighmiler8998 IMHO The Greatest.
@@bikerhighmiler8998 Fish Out of Water is the standard all Yes must be measured by.
As a young teenager in the 70's the "Champagne Jam" was a all day/night music festival we always looked forward too. I can still see the colored lights dancing around the stage on Grant field.
I was there at the old Georgia Tech stadium…
Great underrated band and lead guitarist Barry Bailey was a certified badass!
Damn right about that and Ronnie could sing his ass off....That whole group was tighter than Dick's Hatband.
This ATL boy loves some Barry Bailey
I see lists of, or hear discussion about great guitarisrs
I hear discussions about great guitar players and I keep waiting - Barry Bailey?......Barry Bailey?
This song is an absolute favorite, especially cranked. I got to see them in concert at Georgia Tech in 1978. They turned their lights into the crowd, and it was pure awesome.
I was there, too. What a show, once my hangover calmed down.
Grant Field. The inaugural Champagne Jam.
Happy to say I was in that crowd
Four o clock in the morning waiting for a plane we pass around the bottle
Lord we don't feel no pain life out here on the highway has its ups and down
But last nite that Georgia Rhythm Tore Up Another Town!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Boy, they didn't give Barry Bailey much screen time, huh. RIP to this entire band. Loved them so...
damn i miss the 70s
This is the ARS I grew up with. Each one was truly talented, complimented artistry together!!! Anyone else remember New Years Shows at the Fox Theater!!! We had a Large-Time!!!
Awesome. Not sure anything today can compare
It dont!!
RIP Dean
Love seeing all the great shots of Robert and JR ... Thank you so much for this video.
WoW the good ole day's! 👍
Man I love this song, always have, always will.
Me too!!
Me Three. How does Barry Bailey get his guitar to sound so good? Twangy.
I realize that this is lip-synched...however, I saw these guys numerous times in the late '70's - early '80's. I have to agree with Ronnie Van Zant - Ronnie Hammond was one of the best damn singers in R & R.
Yes he sure was!!
Best vocalist I've ever seen. My favorite band!
I absolutely agree.
Ronnie Hammond was the best singer I ever saw. ARS records speak for themselves. They were one HELLAVA band. I love them. To me second only to the BEATLES in my book.
One of the greatest road-dawg songs of all time...up there with Turn The Page.
true
Still a classic in 2021
shieeet, where is this kinda music today, WHERE IS IT?!!!!
makes me wanna cry
Another one of those bands that I wish would have made more music. I love everything they did.
Perfect band, sound, capacity to breathe.
Great song!
This just opened a door of memories that just rolled over me.
You can't sing their songs without a genuine Southern accent.
Remembering Barry Bailey born on June 12, 1948. He was guitarist, former lead guitarist for the American southern rock band the Atlanta Rhythm Section from 1971-2006. - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atlanta_Rhythm_Section
Shit i play this in my neighborhood bar it stil brings the house down.
There were some solid bands from Georgia, particularly in the '70s. They defined the times.
Love ARS. Fabulous musical talent and great tunes!!!!
Great under rated band, I dig these cats
What a great band and the mixing was amazing! Always had clean sound on all there tracks.
Saw these guys at Tampa Jam in '78...they were amazing!
Great song to play at a summer cook out or beer party on a Saturday afternoon
Forgot how much I liked these guys! Thanks for posting.
This was a awesome concert ,Three day event Georgia jam !!!!!
I was there! Two years in a row!
FANTASTIC BAND.
I LOVE THEIR MUSIC BIG TIME!!
Loving them forever!!!♥️♥️♥️♥️
Me too!!
You and me both.
My very favorite! Second only to THE BEATLES for me.
Great music
I still have this on vinyl in wxcwllent condition...I made a cassette with this and a ton of other favorites... but this song cranking from my Walkman headphones while I was SKIING ... PURE BLISS. Thanks for the memories. 😊
The Champagne Jam at Grant Field at GA tech, mid 70’s, was a great experience for a teen as myself, my future wife, my brother. I Even found us on the ARS live album cover. Boston, Aerosmith, Cars couldn’t hold a candle to the boys from Doraville......🎸😎🎸😎
This song is outstanding 👏 ✨ 🔥 🎵 👌 🙌
Next to the Beatles..my all time favorite band. These guys were incredible.
I've seen ARS at least 30 times. Absolutely AWESOME!! LOVE THESE GUYS!!
JR. and ROBERT from my hometown JACKSONVILLE FLORIDA!!
These Guys Rock And Will Always.... Much Love...
the bass player was a great leader.. think how they bounce with all instruments
Such a beautiful song
DORAVILLE, AIN'T MUCH BUT IT'S HOME.
Goddard burning it up on the low end
Good music! Excellent musicians! ❤
I've seen this band numerous times and this was always my favorite song!
The lineup was right on time--
Ronnie Hammond: vocals
J.R. Cobb: lead guitar
Barry Bailey: acoustic guitar, back vocals
Dean Daughtry: keyboards, back vocsls
Paul Goddard: bass
Robert Nix: drums, percussion
“Georgia Rhythm” was one of their best songs. May they all rest in peace.
Yeah, it was lip-synched but most videos and TV appearances are. Another example of a great southern rock band that knew how to fuse country, rock, blues and jazz together so well.
Discovered ARS on acid 😎😎😎 greatest discovery ever 🤙🤙🤙🤙
he looks so nervous and cute
Awesome quality!! Great stuff!!
Agreed sir. Genius on the bass guitar period!
Holy cow I have never seen a Les Paul guitar with a maple fretboard.
The dreamy eyed, soulful singer, Ronnie Hammond, what a sex symbol:-)
Hello Karen how are you doing hope you’re having a great time with your family may God bless you and your family
@@steveclinton4084 Well I'm doing good, enjoying some time off from work. Going back through all these old songs is like finding a treasure chest..Hope you have a wonderful Christmas!!:-)
ESSES CARAS SÃO MUITO BONS....
freaky deak days and oh sooooo good
And I wish they'd SHOWN the bass player a little more...
❤🎉
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
That guitar tho, Barry was known for using an early 70's Goldtop LP with mini Humbuckers, but what is this? It appears to be a Gibson LP, but with a maple board, full size Buckers and bolt-on neck? Is this Gibson's version of a Fender type guitar?
Singer is Paul Rodgers/Glen Frey love child?
💕💞💛
Great band no more music like that in 2021 only fucking rap
I hate rap and hip hop slutty crap.
Ronnie Hammond Ronnie Van Zant & Ricky Medlock were always in my tape deck when I was out slinging mud in my CJ 7. Surfing 🏄 and skim boarding. Southern Rock was in the wind & the 👭 girls were hot 🔥 and Tan. Me and my buddies and the girlfriends 😊were happy and having fun.
Curious. Why is there no time spent on a close up of the bass player?! Hiding something?! Doesn’t seem fair!
My ocupation is a picker
I love the band and the song, but it’s playback
Can anyone hear a peculiar resemblance between this song and Kid Rock's "Picture". I think the Kid stole the melody especially at the first verse.
Song can sound similar listen to Golden Girls theme sounds like both songs and forget the CCR song that's sound like the 3 songs...Same thing if listen to Never Had A Reason/All Right Now/ You Shook Me All Night Long or Dream On and Stairway To Heaven
This is clearly not the kind of band that would have attracted groupies. But that's fine. Let all the groupies flock to Peter Frampton and Led Zeppelin. At least these guys can sleep at night without worrying about getting the Clap!
🫠 shame ...lead singer...died app. ...58 y e ars. Old ...
Ronnie looks silly in his John Travolta Sat. Night Fever Suit. 1977 maybe Travolta copied Ronnie.
Oh he just looks sharp and well dressed. It was the good look for guys in "those" days. None of that looking like a fool with your pants on the ground.
Great song to play at a summer cook out or beer party on a Saturday afternoon
Great song to play at a summer cook out or beer party on a Saturday afternoon
I call it Summertime feel good music 😊
