Great comment, JR Riohard was a beast. When he and Ryan were on the same team, they had unbelievable fire power. At that time, they had two guys that threw around 100+ when that was exceedingly rare.
What makes nolan Ryan special was not that he threw hard there has been a lot of pitchers that threw hard but Nolan did it in 4 decades from the 60's to the 90's . No one has accomplished that . He threw harder than everyone else and never had tommy john in his career.@@BBUYTTV
@@emmanuelwood8702 correct he did have longevity throwing at very high speeds. However, his reputation was built on how hard he threw and the number of no hitters that he threw. Thank you for watching and thank you for your comment!
Koufax could hit 100 when he wanted to. The hardest thrower ever was Steve Dalkowski. Ted Williams said he never wanted to face him again. Dalkowski's problem was his fastball would rise out of the strike zone. When could control it and get it in the strike zone, he was unhittableHe never made the majors. If you haven't heard of him, look him up. His fastball was estimated to be around 110 to 115 MPH.
Good comment. For Satchel Paige there just aren’t a whole lot of reliable sources on his speed. As for Gibson, you are right he probably should have made the list. Thank you for your comment
It would have been great if they had modern radar guns when Nolan pitched. It would probably be eye popping to see what he throws with today's technology.
Uh,Bob Gibson, Walter Johnson, Christy Mathewson, I can keep on but there’s three replacements for your top 5 and neither Feller or Ryan are going anywhere but to number 2 and 1.
Chapman still shudders on the mound when tiny Jose Altuve steps in to the box!

Satchel Paige and Bob Gibson?

Nolan Ryan and the big unit was more like 105 mph

They clocked him in the 70s and converted it to todays method and it came out to like 108

No Bob Feller 💀
@@unruinable138 Bob Feller is featured at number 5 on the list

Lot of Astros here and a guy the Astros crushed.
The Astros have definitely had some guys that brought heat, including a guy not in the video JR Richard
