Paal - a very private man who always detested publicity and stardom - give us a rare peek into this song in the semi-biography "Tears from a stone", about how devastating and existential being separated from Lauren was to him, literally oceans apart (him in London, she in the US) while he, Mags and Morten were building their career. It leaves the impression that without the music and Lauren, his life would have been in the balance, and losing her might well have ended him. As a love song, and love letter, it is uncovering that abyss of dread that comes with the deepest love: the fear of losing it, and what the fallout might be. Brave as heck lyrically and beautiful musically. My absolute favourite a-ha track ever. And ultimately, with a happy ending.

Explosive performance of a fantastic song with disarming lyrics, featuring a young Morten with a voice and looks that could explode and pierce right through the musicverse like no one else could.Just Hats off!

A-ha pra sempre, não dá para viver sem. O trabalho solo do Morten também é maravilhoso.😊

They are actually an incredibly good live band - and only improved as the years went on... saw them last Feb 2020 and it was beyond excellent!

This period of a-ha live was their best, more of a rock and organic sound and sounding very different from their studio versions. It wasn’t long after this that they went their separate ways for 7 years before returning. Back then morten was so relaxed and energetic, Paul said many a times since that period that he wished Morten would just relax and enjoy being on stage again rather than being so concentrated on his vocal performances. Morten for a long time sees himself as a singer and not an entertainer.

Thank you, Saeed! Paul certainly is a master, both with tones and words.

❤I was that 80s fan. Had an asthma attack and was in hospital and had tickets to A-ha in Stockholm. My crush was gonna be there. So 16y old me went. Doctor was so boring 😂 Through the years I listen to the first 3 albums frequently, I've always respected them, wish I'dkept going. I'm a metalhead, but they and Morten is always on high volume when I'm trying to clean my home. 😊Still.

Funny thing about Morten Harket : he is so smart that it's hard to understand him sometimes...his mind wandering while he speaks.Kristian Valen is so good at his parodies of him.!

I can relate to parts of that. The mind is a storm at times.

Of course I know about a-ha but not so familiar with their music.
1994 was a absolute big year here. First time we became a Democracy and the great and BELOVED Nelson Mandela became President.
SORRY, FELT I HAD TO MENTION THIS.
    Greetings from South Africa
