It is a cover of an Everly Brothers song but this has a-ha's unique personality all over it. Wonderfully dramatic (but sill subtle), heart-breaking and cinematic all in one song. Great reaction !!! More a-ha please !!!
Great reaction! This is a-ha's only cover released on album. They have been very productive themselves, and have had enough songs to take off. A-ha met Phil Everly through their manager, Terry Slater, who had played with The Everly Brothers in the 60s. They decided to cover the song as a tribute to The Everly Brothers, and each of them received an Everly Brothers-style guitar, all from the same tree, as thanks for the cover. The guitars have been in use throughout the band's career, and especially Morten Harket has used his guitar a lot in his solo career. The band kept in touch with Phil Everly and his family. The members of the band are shown in the video, but not as part of the action, and yes, it is Morten Harket who you can see singing at the end. I recommend that you react to the sequel to Take on me, The sun always shines on TV. It's epic!
2:13.."he's got a good voice" ? ..what an understatement ..Morten Harket is one of the greatest singers of our time and a holds the world record for holding the longest note in a song "summer moved on 2000"
A-ha did a great job with this song. They actually have a large catalog of music. Another song I love by them is called “I Wish I Cared.” Your wife has a beautiful smile! She has no reason to be shy…she has a great screen presence! 🤗 God bless you both❣️
@@intothesunset3 I think so, too. They actually have a lot of really great songs. Morten Harket has such a beautiful voice. The only other person out there with a voice that could possibly compare (in my humble opinion) would be Freddy Curci, from the Canadian band Sheriff. I think they were a one hit wonder back in the 80’s with the song When I’m With You!
Cover of the Everly Brothers classic. Fascinating how your wife reacts to a song, more analytically it seems. She is listening intently to the song. You seem to have a great family.
Suggestions: Listen to more a-ha ❤ The sun always shines on tv, Hunting high and low, Manhattan Skyline, There's never a forever thing, The living daylights, Memorial Beach, Summer moved on , Analogue, Cosy Prisons, Minor Earth Major Sky, True North, As if, ...there are a lot of their songs that are gems 🎶💎🎶 About Simon and Garfunkel: Morten Harket sang Bridge Over Troubled Water, there are 2 videos on youtube.
If you like sad songs, you should react to the performance of Take On Me at MTV unplugged. A total different vibe, more emotional than the one in the original music video.
The video was directed by Steve Barron. The theme of the video is a robbery gone wrong. The video was filmed entirely with a specific technique of mobile cameras, and it was filmed in Big Timber, Montana.
Shawn and pretty lady, cool reaction. Heard several artists cover this song, this cover new to me , thank you. Good version. Suggestions: ..."My oh my" by Slade....."I need you tonight" by Peter Wolf......"Every breath you take" or " Don't stand so close to me" both by Police
where more versions of this song maybe in this times this one was the most listen was also a james taylor and gartfunkel version , the everly brothers and also carol king version
Classic Everly Brothers song. You liked the Ah Ha version. I like the Everly Brothers version better. I heard the Everly Brothers first. I’m wondering if it’s the singer’s interpretation of the song that makes it great or is it the song itself that touches people’s heart. Thanks for a great reaction!
Although I like the sound of this band ~ I prefer the Everly Brothers version ~ theirs conveyed sadness ~ while this version leaves me feeling depressed 😔
my most favourite by a-ha - 'hunting high and low". achingly wistful, beautifully yearning, a must-listen ❤

Morten has one of the best male voices ever.

@@intothesunset3 I watched the video you suggested…it was very good 👍🏻
@@dmartin1203 Glad you liked it😊
The actor John hawkes is in this video. People might know him from the perfect storm, and three billboards outside ebbing
Haunting sounds...
The idea of the 'Crying in the rain'-video is "after the robbery". :)

Beautiful song. Everly Brothers...
I truly enjoyed this. I had never heard the original, but thought this had a beautiful sound. Great reaction Shawn and Shanna! 💜
A-ha - Manhattan Skyline (Live in NRK 1991) is a must, just fantastic song and performance ;)
Love love love this version ❤
I love this band and Morten Harket's Voice 💎

Written by Carole King.
Really nice, great voice & music. The Everly Brothers would be so proud, they were the best!👍💜💜🎵🎶🎵

Beautiful song
You should react to A-HA: I've Been Lsoing You, The Sun Always Shines On TV, Hunting High and Low and Move to Memphis
Cool.. I like the both of ya’lls reactions. Thanks.
Please, do more a-ha! They are great!
Love the Everly Brothers version.
Hehe, two completely different faces and vibes when experiencing music.

That's a cover song. I think this is a song by the Every Brothers.
Carole King and Harold Greenfield wrote it for the Everly Brothers.
I'd recommend you two checking out 'Leather and Lace' by Don Henley & Stevie Nicks. You will both love it!
I'm another who prefers the original recording by the Everly Brothers, but still think this is a great cover of this song.
The Everly Brothers did Love Hurts which was covered by Nazareth in early 70s
I had no idea! Thanks for the information. Love Nazareth's version.

Great version, had never heard it before, but prefer the Everly's.
❤❤❤
Great!
Now listen to I call your name
From the same album.

If you can ,could you do Whenever You Come Around by Vince Gill? Thank you.
Great cover by A-Ha. Everly Brothers version made top 10 in 1962. Video didn't seem to fit the song.
Can you please react to Closest thing to Heaven by Tears for Fears , music video version please 😊
sorry bro,but girl is of absolute love in Morten(our him voice) ...100% 😉
An example of a music video that is overthought and detracts from the song.
Nope...go listen to the original by The Everly Brothers ...then we'll talk! 😮
The everly brothers loved a-ha’s version of crying in the rain, and where friends of a-ha, they even gifted them guitars that they still use today
