Klaus Nomi was a brilliant man
This is an opera aria from Purcell. Klaus only sang it, and made it (slightly) more well known.
Klaus Nomi was a bloody
beginner and terribly
uneducated .
Absolutely, the original name from king Arthur opera Baroque is: What power art thou? and it is supposed to be sung by a Baryton. It was written about 300 years before Klaus Nomi. Klaus Nomi democatized this piece and introduced it to a lot of people who did not know baroque or classical music.

@@KJensenStudio And do you realize that a portion of Purcell's "Cold Song" was used in the movie "The Wolf of Wall Street" in the scenario where the Leonardo di Caprio character first hit the drug called Quaaludes -this drug has the effect of making the person feel very cold and to start shivering!
Kalo, I did not know this, as I have never seen that movie. Quaaludes, cold making? They are a barbituate, I believe? Very popular in the 70's. Klaus Nomi also does a good version of this piece, but I rather like this rendition better. You are a fountain of knowledge, Kalo, and I thank you again. 😊
