A simple problem should have a simple solution! That's the mantra of our shop engineers, anyone can design a complex solution running up expenses and space. The real engineering that takes skill is makings simple and less complex solutions to the problem. Great Job!
Thank you for sharing this with us. I just wanted something simple to do and I finally came across your video. Now I'm now why didn't I think of that 🤣🤣.
Really nice build. "A simple solution for a simple problem". That's my moto too. In my case, it's because I don't have the skills to do "complicated" yet. But simple is working fine for me. Thanks for sharing 👍.
Very nice build. Video was well done. Explanations of each step were clear. Great job. Subscribed and I’m going to use this for my tool wall. One suggestion would be to explain how you determined the width of the holes and the depth of the hanger. Otherwise, excellent job. Thank you.
Thanks for the sub! Yeah, I could have explained that a little better. I figured that everybody's tool selection is different and my particular slots might not fit. But I could have at least gone over how I arrived at the dimensions.
Quite timely for me as I’m working on storage in my garage right now. My only issue is that I’ve got several Milwaukee M12 took that don’t have those feet. I suppose I could hang them the other way.
I've been trying to organize my workspace and make it so the tools I use regularly are easily accessible as well as easy to put away. I should probably make something like this.
I've been doing the same. Anything that I haven't use for a while goes in the toolbox. Then I move something that I've been using to the more accessible location. It never stops, but I think I'm getting close to an optimal arrangement for what I do. I use about 20% of my tools 80% of the time.
you probably dont give a damn but does someone know a way to log back into an Instagram account..? I was dumb forgot my login password. I appreciate any assistance you can give me!
@Hector Kayden i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm in the hacking process now. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
Hi, I don't have any plans. The holes were drilled 4" on center. It's a 2" slot, so each of the wood "tongues" are also about 2" wide. You can choose the depth that works for your tools.
Cool build. Could you please explain what you mean when you talk about marking a line every 3 in and the other direction every 4 in? Is the board flipped where you're drilling the holes?

Nice project - very clean!! I'm thinking of something similar in a portable caddy form. To use for my 4 angle grinders. (3 corded, 1 cordless). With flap/cut-off/grinding storage in the bottom. This gave me some good ideas to proceed. Thanks !
Loved the video, a question i have is what if your tools don't have a flared end? I'm in the M12 line and am wondering if this style would still work for my drill, surge driver, and die grinder?
@@Makebuildmodify yes Sir I already built it and installed it in my closed in trailer and it even worked on some of my pneumatic nail guns to thanks again 👍👏👏👍
Love a simple and effective approach- and I appreciate your understated video construction. Normalize eschewing long intros and “TH-cam Voice.” Y’all know what I mean by that particular type of TH-cam cadence and vernacular featured in 85% of creator driven channels- especially diy ones lol
nice. love the simple design and relatively short video. i feel like 6.5min is the perfect length for a video. one thing; isn't it dangerous to not having a rivving knife with the table saw? just looking out. cheers
Thanks. Making things is always dangerous. It's the personal responsibility of maker to decide the level of safety that they are willing to adopt. Also, to a point, the same operation can be more or less dangerous relative to the maker and their level of experience.
Nice! However one concern I might have is dust settling into the contacts of the rarely used tools. Maybe put a dust cover over those. Sorry - I’m a bean counter who probably should have been an engineer 😜
Just found this, on my way to the shop to make it so. Although I will flip it over and put a lid on it for a flat shelf above with a spacer upright on the sides and center. It will also be a bit narrower. One question did you use 3 inches between tools?
Excellent all around - have been making some of your projects without a table saw - just using a hand-held circular saw. Not as fancy - but gets the job done. How come you stopped making videos? Or do you have another channel anywhere? Either way - thank you!
It's great to hear that somebody is making my project! I'm considering starting back up again. I had to go back to my day job. I'll probably have to take sponsors to continue though.
@@Makebuildmodify Do you get decent monetization with YT? Either way - I think your presentation style is perfect. Way above most others. No hand-holding. Too many other channels are over-explainers, etc. Don't you think that if you pick up again - your subscriber base will grow rapidly? I think others are also yearning for more straightforward makers like you. You might be surprised?
@@NJroute22 Thank you for the encouragement, I really appreciate it. The YT monetization typically does not cover the production costs of a video. Over time, some videos will pay well enough to limp the channel along, but if I want to do it full time (my dream), I'd have to take on sponsors. It used to be more commonly viewed as a taboo (sellout) type of thing. Times have changed, and I'm reconsidering my position on in-video adverts.
@@Makebuildmodify Very interesting. Do you pay someone to make your videos? I have a channel (not monetized) - and my production costs are zero (other than the few hours it takes to make). Are you basing your costs on time/value? In other words - you make more working a "in real life" job over doing virtual things? I do have to say one more thing though - when I am building things at home - it kind of sucks to "do it for the camera" rather than just building it for myself. It'd be nice to have a film crew film for me while I concentrated on my project.
@@NJroute22I do it all myself. My bigger projects can consume 40-60 hours plus the cost of materials. I lose a week or more of income from my day job. So, the real lifestyle cost is pretty substantial considering that I was trying to produce one project video per week. Moving forward, I'll have to do maybe one project per month and more talking head videos to fill in the month-reviews, tips and tricks, and things like that. Maybe even a "Maker Week in Review" where I cover other makers' projects.
Thanks! It's pretty simple to build. The video pretty much covers everything that plans would show. the hole size and slot count will vary depending on your tool selection.
According to your dimensions. It’s a 2-3-4 inch build. 2 inch slots, 3 inches apart and 4 in deep. If I understood you. But why have to flip tool upside down each time you want to hang it ? Why not just hang it right side up ? Easier to grab and return each time.

I don't know if the painted surface of the wall is important to you but if you turn the tools the other way, they will not touch the wall.
It's a shop. So, for me, the paint on the wall is not important. But you are correct.
Any way to get the material list and plan, I don’t see it in the links. Thank you, great job.

So 3" support and 2" gaps for the plywood section, making the hole spacing 5" correct?
The 3" measurement is the depth of the notch. The notches are 2 inches wide with a 2-inch separator. So, drill a 2 inch hole every 4 inches.
AWESOME
Thanks 🤗
How do the contacts on your machines Look after hanging them upside down?

Because the battery receptacle on the end of all of the tools is the same size and the slots are designed for that part of the tools.
