Do you ever use it in 'esp mode' only? I want a Rubicon at some point and I grew up on Foreman and Rancher ES machines and I loveeee the electric shift on those. But I've never driven a Rubicon before so idk how ESP on a Rubi compares to those other machines. I'd like for the Automatic to be there just in case but I have a feeling I'd be in ESP the majority of the time. Also, do you have any regrets vs not getting the footshift? I'm debating between the two. Good review and thanks!
Yes, the ESP is nearly identical to the ES. I’m like you, I really like the ES. I think you would enjoy it, especially with your Honda background. Thanks for watching!
Such a beautifully underpowered machine. I loved my Honda 300 back in the late '90s and would like to purchase a Honda again, however, the only real problem is lack of power. You really can not go up on tire size for mud without making these anemic. Yes, I know some people have done this but when you watch them, they struggle! Also, the speed on this is too slow; the mud and tire issue, I can get over that! The speed? Not so much, yes 51mph is fast enough for most, and honestly wouldn't be near that speed often myself. I just like to have the ability to keep up from trailhead to trailhead with friends, also like to cruise between 40-45mph on open country roads and these Hondas are screaming at that speed.
It's true what you say, depending on your needs and desires the Honda utility and rec ATV's may be too slow for you. I love them, and they have treated me well. I also like the speed limit per se because I will go as fast as my ATV allows and that makes it dangerous for me to have a Polaris, Yamaha or Suzuki...or Can Am. ;) I'm trying to be wise.
Maby so but when your rubber band drive breaks down, I will be there to pull you back to the truck. I have close to 10k trouble free miles on mine not many other brands if any can say that except CFMOTO. My CFMOTO has 8k trouble free miles. My last Polaris didn't make it to 100 miles before it went back then again before 200 miles well you get the picture.
Question recently bought a 2022 Deluxe only 48.1 miles on it and my first tank of gas i only got about 22mpg i was wondering what your experience with mpg? Im going to get more scientific with it for the next tank but wanted to here your thoughts
I think that is accurate, because on my 2016 Honda Rancher DCT EPS I got about 28 mpg - 35 mpg depending on terrain and riding style, and so the bigger and heavier and more powerful Rubicon will surely get less, and 22 sounds about right. Hope this is helpful!
@@SouthwestORV i had a 2017 rancher and that thing would go days on a full tank of gas and the rubicon went 1 long ride but the fuel gauge lies when its on the last bar its actually at half tank so thats help full when your "empty" you can turn around and make it all the way back to the truck

Nice review. What’s the cord tied to the back rack? I was guessing a phone charging cord? I like the aftermarket tires.
The “cord” is a wire for a whip light. I’ve really liked these tires.

Thank God I got the manual
Hopefully it works well for you. My friend loved his foot shift model. This DCT just never ran like others I’ve ridden which was pretty frustrating.
Did you end up selling your rubicon?
I did. It never performed quite right even after the ECU flash so I traded it in for the 300L.
When are you getting the ecu flashed?
ECU was flashed and did not help, even getting Honda on the phone from the Honda dealer. They ended up sending a completely new ECU for the machine.
@@SouthwestORV Are you selling your rubicon? If it was a footshift would you keep it?
What exactly did you tell the dealer when you called? I’m calling and no one seems to know what I’m telling them ?
