    It's an easy win for the OnePlus 12 on this comparison. I like both brands and I've had both brands in the past but the OnePlus 12 is definitely the value king with Androids phones this year without a doubt.

    I have the S24(256gb), One Plus 12(512gb) & Pixel 8 Pro(256gb).. all fantastic but this year One Plus is easily the best.. I do prefer the S24 because of its size though! Very hard choice though

    Some other OnePlus 12 pros you didnt mention:
    1. It has PHYSICAL dual SIM. Thats an extremely rare feature on North American phones.
    2. Its bootloader unlockable. Because of this I would say its equal with Samsung in terms of updates because they dont let you unlock the bootloader and allow you to install custom ROMs

    Had a s24 ultra and just returned it. Now I have both the 24 reg and oneplus 12 on hand. Trying to decide what to keep and use. The OnePlus 12 is better spec but real world use its interesting. The smaller s24 feels great in hand in in pocket. As well as the Samsung overlay and theme customization is better than the OnePlus 12. Also camera is subjectively better on the S24. I got the S24 refurbished for $415 and the OnePlus for $699 so it's a hard decision. But the real comparison would be the S24 reg to 12R.

    I got the OP12 today. One thing that I'm a little disappointed with for a phone that is supposed to be so utterly customisable... I've not always been a huge fan of Material You... and unlike on the S24 or P8P... you cant revert to default system theme colors (white or dark grey). This results in half of the apps that I'm using on the OnePlus 12 (from Google) having an odd blue or purple coloring to them while the others are in a nice standard dark grey. Its clearly coming from the wallpaper sampling in Android, but man, there should be an option to default to system theme colors. It's so distracting that I'm back on the S24. Everything else has been genuinely very good... but they need to fix the Material You colors being forced on users.

    I have the s24 base and the one plus 12 R I got to say I like the one plus better. I mean the panel on the s24 panel fantastic but when whatching hdr man one plus shines. Samsung more cinematic accuracy is great. But I paid twice as much for the s24.

      Have you actually used Samsung to its full capacity? Have you tried Dex, emulators, flash programs and web surfing, modes & routines, customizing your notification panel and turning it transparent, changing the text style & format of the entire phone, reverse wireless charging your headphones while out & about, 3D wallpaper, Dynamic AOD screens with rotating wallpaper packs, using Goodlock to customize 12 gesture swipes to perform any function, using the most secure fingerprint reader on the market for banking & virtual cards, secure folder, being able to change the color tones and vivdness, etc? If you bought your Samsung for just watching videos , then you got it for the wrong reason. I actually have a transparent pop-up panel to activate 3 different styles of color correction any time I'm watching movies and videos.

    Of course, the base model of the OnePlus 12 cost $799.99. The top model with 16 GB of RAM and 512 gigabytes of storage costs $899.99. Still, even the base model 12 outstrips the Samsung Galaxy s24 in nearly every category.
    Frankly, I'm at an age and place in my career where I can afford whatever flagship device that I want. Regardless, I will never pay $1,300 for any device. The s24 ultra May allegedly be the best device you can purchase in the Android market but, for $1,300 Samsung can keep it.

    I really think a better comparison would be the OnePlus 12 vs Pixel 8 pro. Although the 12 would be the better initial value choice, the S24 will be a better choice for 7yrs support and resale.

    OnePlus wouldn't accept my trade-in even though the screen goes on nothing is broken on it. My OnePlus 9 pro is beautiful but it does have some screen burning you can see where the battery charging level was you can see where the time was and it is burned in the screen but it wasn't a new phone but even though it turned in it wasn't broken everything was functional because the screen had burning and that is a design flaw of AMOLED screens they didn't accept my phone and pay me the $280 in fact, they billed me for it

    Aqua Touch over IP68 any day. Honestly, 5 years vs 7 years, who cares? You would have already changed your phone within 5 years. Battery life and fast charging for OP. The reasons you would go for Samsung is compact phone and AI stuff. OP has better cameras as long as you know what you do. If you're talking about point and shooting, it might be a toe. I agree that OP needs to launch update more often

    • @AdamSmith-gs2dv
      @AdamSmith-gs2dv 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      OnePlus allows you to unlock the bootloader so I'll cut them slack on updates. Also the OnePlus 12 probably is IP68, Jerryrigeverythings tear down shows it has everything needed for that rating it probably doesn't have it because they didn't want to pay more money to get it certified (not paying for certifications is one way OnePlus cuts costs)
