I don't think I've ever seen that many Hall of Fame Rock 'n' Rollers on one stage at the same time! OMIGOD! What I would have given to be at that one!

No joke, I started crying during this video. We will never see their like again.
I had the pleasure to see Bo Diddley, and Chuck Berry......my Dad scored the back stage Golden Tickets when he hit them both up for tapes... I was active duty Marine in Desert Shield/ Storm...got the tapes, and the Golden Back stage pass! Saw them both in East Saint Louis.........it was a blast.....I never felt so white! I caught the show at Chuck Berry's,
Legends. Hey young people of today these are real entertainers/singers. No gimmicks, no women half dressed, gentlemen singers. No auto tune. NEVER will be singers like this ever again. One of a kind. Their music will live on Forever.
Ce ne peut que l' Italie pour réunir toutes les légendes du Rock qui ont jalonné notre jeunesse!

I was born at least 40 years to late, but my motto is: I DON´T CARE WHAT PEOPLE SAY ROCK N ROLL IS HERE TO STAY!!!
Holy shit!!!! I’m surprised that the building survived!! Wow!!
As I watch this aptly named "Legends of Rock and Roll" concert it sadly reminded me most of those great legends there, were the architecture of much of our current pop music culture. Yes, it's evolved but these guys were pretty much at the forefront of popular music that has morphed like a tree into many different branches.
And today while listening, I realize most are now gone. Here are the names of those now in heaven still jamming:
- Little Richard
-James Brown
-Ray Charles
-B.B. King
-Bo Diddley
-Fats Domino
There maybe others who've also passed since this concert held in 1989 in Italy but these are the ones I'm familiar with.
May God rest their souls.
The only one left, Jerry Lee Lewis.
This is something that should be necessarily in schools like one of the MUST BE musical lessons.... Absolutely perfect.. and not just this one, there is a lot of songs and live jam sessions that should be part of musical education....
Yeah, that was highly enjoyable. Wish they were all still here.
Imagine being there.... (almost) all the legends....
BB king, Little Richard and James Brown.....is this a dream?
its a very nice concert!!!
you can see, how all the stars have many fun on the floor
and the publicium celebrate them
i wish i were in there
This is crazy!!! All those legends all together, of course there are some missing, but at least Ray Charles, B.B. King and James Brown were there... oh and btw rest in peace B.B. you're the best!!!
and the killer Jerry Lee Lewis....
This was so many years ago. You weren't physically there but did have the opportunity to see in its entirety the entire concert. If you can recall:
- how long was the concert on TV?
- did the major stars perform individually?
- did any two or three performers perform together separate from the other legends? If so and you recall, the combination.
The closet I got to any of them was a seat in about the second or third tier at the huge Madison Square Garden (where the New York Knicks play if you watch American basketball) where I saw Bo Diddly play his guitar. Oh my God! And the incredible Bo Diddley and Chuck. I remember Bo Diddley tear that stage up with his guitar. A beautiful memory from the year 1971!
But, a funny part of that concert was they had another famous artist there you may not have heard of and was just out of place. He was not a rhymn and blues musician. His name was Ricky Nelson.. He was soundly "booed" by the audience. It was so awful....for him. However I have wonderful memory of that concert.
just legends.....i wish i could live in the golden years of rock'n'roll....cuz that's the real music!!!
Roma 1989!!!! I live here and i was there!!!!! Oh God,,,,,,Thank You
im jealous of u 😭
I dont understand how jb was there if he went to prison in late 88
Woo hoo the princes of rock and roll, blues are gathering!
this is true rock and roll royalty..sadly some of these incredible artists have left us .but we can keep them alive here and in out hearts..
DON'T GET MUCH BETTER THAN THIS WHAT TALENT ON 1 STAGE
when legends make stuff up on the fly, this is what you get...
real musicians just having fun....
A jam session to beat all... wow... just.... wow.
(i can just imaging the sound guy going "Oh SH*T!! " in the sound booth when he saw all of them come on stage...)
A significant moment in the history of music.
The crowd, The luckiest peoples from the world... Yeah...
WOW what a line up, you could'nt get a line up like this anymore pure top class entertainers one and all.
Seems like Little Richard was the only one out of about 10,000 who wanted to go home. Thank God nobody listened (as can be seen on longer video)!
P.S. Concert in it's entirety at 2 1/2 hours length also on TH-cam - "The Giants of Rock'n'Roll, live from Palaeur - Rome, 17 nov 1988 - 33 years ago! Sadly the majority of those greats are in Rock n Roll Heaven now. Lord, they must be laying down serious some jam sessions.
History made here...most of the Greats together...so many gone now.
Amazing! Just notice: everyone of the guys, before start playing, say hello to the king!
we should be grateful for seeing such a thing...
Truly world class.
The best and the parents of the Rock and roll.

I dont know what I say.... only the Masters of the Blues, Jazz and Classic Rock !!!

I have seen Bo Diddley and Little Richard when they did not play concerts they were doing the night club scene, and you could dance to them oh those were the days. Rock and Roll will live for ever in these people. My wifes uncle Jack even played violin for James Brown.
Amazing group of talented musicians. When music was music and no ignorant rivalry just legends making a world enjoy God given talent.
