Backsplash? The metal behind the cooktop? I needed some kind of heat protection so I used a ceiling tile tin and have it gapped a little in the back to protect the wall
@@dianak2348 Thx for your reply. I thought that might have been what was used. Great idea. You have so many great little things and ideas, I wanted to see more and closer. :) Thx again. And happy travels.
Thank you. You speak kindly. You appreciate each person's work. Open to others way of doing it, that might help someone else. We had started planning this when he passed suddenly. I still want to go, good to hear encouragement. I think I'll start with a cab on my truck and start camping a few days at a time. Drive further each time. But I can't stop thinking about getting out
I’m so sorry to hear of your loss, I find comfort in the country, in my vehicle driving the old country roads...I would sleep in my Subaru Tribeca in the Colorado mountains and although I would rather do it in my camper, I started just in a car and went to destinations that made me smile...I hope that you find your way and someday our paths might cross while we are not camping... we’re living!
Diana, nice job! For your ceiling have you considered using fabric / vinyl (like car seat upholstery) and attaching it by magnets, so it could look pulled tight or tufted as you wish and could be cheap and easily removed / changed?
🙆🏾♀️Please tell me. When it gets cold (since you all were complaining about how cold it was outside), how do you keep it warm inside your little tiny home?🤷🏽♀️
We have a minisplit. It keeps us warm when it's cold outside and keeps us cool when it's hot outside. It uses minimum power to run and we can run it with our battery bank if necessary.
My tiny house has the fireplace, all walls are insulated and I have 12 v heat blanket as well as a small plug in heater. Even having the back patio down the curtain kept the heat in, wasn’t uncomfortable at all
Well... I don’t remember... Wait... I do remember it was bought at tractor supply in 2015 I think. It was too small for my needs in the house so I put it in the camper hanging it on the wall in a makeshift French cleat. Used French cleat picture hanger on a rail I put on both walls. I used plastic lattice trim to make rails on both sides of the camper so I could hang the tv, fireplace etc and move it to where I needed it. However I put the TV on an arm instead to have more room. Hope that answers your question.
Very inspiring! I wanted to ask about the large square tile backsplash she has behind the cooking area. Is it metal or another material? Can it be found in a store? I love it!!🥰
It is a tin ceiling tile I had left over from my house. I needed something to be a heat protector so I just used that. Thank you it really is easy for anyone to build
I made a video just a couple months back with a cargo trailer and the Elastomeric Coating on the roof. I show evidence with surface temp. 50 deg lower temp with the coating vs raw roof. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Yes, it’s a Laveo dry toilet that uses special cartridges. But, the cartridges are expensive, so I lined it with a heavy duty bag and put in the horse pellets. That works way better. The toilet is very much like a standard toilet, and although it’s an expensive bucket I find it comfortable. Maybe someone could find one second hand. They are easily sterilized.
I love the design! Awesome job! I've been weighing the different options of vans or towable and I've pretty much decided I like the towable option best for many reasons. Do you mind sharing the name of the stuff you coasted your roof with? BTW I love this channel 💜
I am going to take that as a compliment, however it was simple and no heavy building. I designed it and built it, I just didn’t cut the window out, I installed the window and trimmed it out. The solar is about as easy as you can get, even a newbie could do it. Bills setup is a work of art, him and Marvin are solar geniuses.
Yes I removed all the plywood on walls, I insulated it then I put 1/4 plywood (very light) to reduce weight. I did reuse small pieces of the 1/2 plywood to build the shelf. But the shelf is built to have as little wood possible. Hope that answered your question. Thank you for watching.
@@dianak2348 Thanks so much for answering my question. One other question - where do you usually park - do you have a problem getting into campgrounds since you are in a cargo trailer? Also, you have one of the most beautiful builds I have seen! Thanks for sharing.
@@debbyhodges2588 so far we have camped in state parks, National Forest and corps of engineers, none of which had issues with the cargo. Not tried private campgrounds. So no issues at all.
@@debbyhodges2588 thank you so much for the compliment, it really was not a lot of construction but a lot of playing Tetris with cabinets so they would do what I wanted, LoL
It has 200 watts of solar on roof that powers the 100 ah Bolt silicon salt battery, that runs all 12 volt lights 24/7 as that keeps the battery healthy. There is a 12v refrigerator that runs on battery or plug in electric. I usually plug into the 12v when driving then if I have electric at site will plug it in to shore power. The ref is located on shelf behind the kitchen counter cabinet. I have both 12 v plug and AC. Coming from the surge protectors at the back. The inverter is a 1500 watt inverter with 3000 surge. It can power all my appliances as they are all under 1200 watts. I also have the ecoflow river that also can power most of my appliances if needed. Hope that answers your questions. Thanks for watching and please share it !
I have a huge question 🙋♀️ I know a lot of Rvers have a major problem with mice going in without a huge door opened like yours. How are you handling squirrels and mice from not chewing your wiring?Im loving your recycled material used very wisely.Thank you
I have not had one bit of problem in the two years it has been here. I live in the woods and no problems. I believe it’s that they have no access. There is no holes in the floor or ceiling. The vent where the power goes in is closed as well. I have a solar powered vent that is also sealed, window is sealed. If your talking about while the back gate is opened, I have a few squirrel and a raccoon stories I could tell, but they didn’t do any damage to the camper, just scared the crap outta me thinking Bigfoot was gonna get me LoL
Great build. Wonderful lady. But please do not tell others to use a drill for cooking. If you drill with a bit into metal, you can get metal shavings stuck on the end of the drill. Put that drill over your food and guess where the shavings will end up without you even seeing it.
Thanks for the thought, I guess being mindful of the cleanliness of the tools you using is a must no matter what tool you use. I have used that drill to do pancake batter for years and I make sure it’s clean so no shaving in my batter 😊

@@dianak2348 Thank you for your reply. Maybe our paths will cross out there. I just know there is so much more peace out there. It'll be good
So sorry for your lose...he would want you to carry on the dream. 😞 😊
Diane you're so talented
Yes she is
Awww thank you!
Well, you did it again, thanks!
Thank you for watching
I’ve seen half Christmas trees Never seen a half umbrella that’s pretty neat
Very nice
I found it on Walmart online, and it was cheap.
Diana, nice job! For your ceiling have you considered using fabric / vinyl (like car seat upholstery) and attaching it by magnets, so it could look pulled tight or tufted as you wish and could be cheap and easily removed / changed?
No I didn’t think of that...good idea...but might collect dust and need cleaned often. But might be worth it. Thanks for the idea
Thanks for the great video. Whats the roof coating she was talking about to keep it cool?
Elastomeric roof coating, bought from Home Depot, but you can get it from Lowes too.
Nice job ❤
She did a fabulous job
love the layout !!!!
It is awesome
So many ideas.
Glad you think so.
And so many I didn’t even get to...and more to come. 😊
I love the idea of cooking a cake In The Bundt pan on an induction cooker. Can you send a link to get a induction cooker???? I love her place too
Check Amazon
It’s a Nuwave from amazon
🙆🏾♀️Please tell me. When it gets cold (since you all were complaining about how cold it was outside), how do you keep it warm inside your little tiny home?🤷🏽♀️
We have a minisplit. It keeps us warm when it's cold outside and keeps us cool when it's hot outside. It uses minimum power to run and we can run it with our battery bank if necessary.
My tiny house has the fireplace, all walls are insulated and I have 12 v heat blanket as well as a small plug in heater. Even having the back patio down the curtain kept the heat in, wasn’t uncomfortable at all
Question? : Where did the fireplace come from? Name of Brand etc? Thank you.
@@dianak2348 Thank you Diana appreciate it.
Nice trailer 👍
Cheers
It's amazing
I made a video just a couple months back with a cargo trailer and the Elastomeric Coating on the roof. I show evidence with surface temp. 50 deg lower temp with the coating vs raw roof. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Thanks for watching.
The one I used was Henry solar flex from Home Depot.
Could you paint not just the roof but the whole outside of the trailer with it?
@@dorindachristian9134 I suppose so, it might not look so nice as it’s thick and leaves roller marks.
@@dorindachristian9134 yes certainly could
the dry toilet she mentions, is that the one that uses the liner bags and seals them? (like a diaper genie, i think?)
Thank you so much for watching. I will have to look up the roof coating.

I made a recent vid showing evidence of the difference it makes
Who did the work building this? I'm guessing an engineer since they seemed familiar with 80/20, electric actuators and all the systems.
Diana built it all by herself. Her husband helped her install the windows, but that is it. It's simple. She is very intelligent.
Hi , Did Diana remove the plywood on the walls prior to putting up the insulation? So glad to find "I ride. . ."
What kind of insulation is this? I want to get some. Cute little cottageee.
Halo polystyrene. I found it at a local lumber yard true value. Then I used reflected over that.
Roof coating is good news. Neat space.

Where does the electricity come from? does this require electrical hookup?
Thanks for watching and please share it !
..."Bread Twisties on Steriods"..... Funniest think I have heard for years.....

Yes Bill nailed it with that statement... and the Tim the tool man reference. Bill is a natural filmmaker

I have a huge question 🙋♀️
I know a lot of Rvers have a major problem with mice going in without a huge door opened like yours.
Diana rocks
Oh, I just thought of another possible reason for no chewing on wires, all are run at the top of the wall, not on floor.
@@dianak2348now that's funny :)
This helps guys
Great build. Wonderful lady. But please do not tell others to use a drill for cooking. If you drill with a bit into metal, you can get metal shavings stuck on the end of the drill. Put that drill over your food and guess where the shavings will end up without you even seeing it.
Thanks for watching
Thanks for the thought, I guess being mindful of the cleanliness of the tools you using is a must no matter what tool you use. I have used that drill to do pancake batter for years and I make sure it’s clean so no shaving in my batter 😊
That’s cute
