Well Mark I will subscribe because you need all the help you can get on this one bad news cleanup on that is going to be probably around 50 grand remodel probably around 150 and that’s on the low end😂
You've got your hands full with this one, once it is empty you'll see the real work needed. I've never in my life left a home like this. Crazy to think how many are left like this or worse.. take pride no matter where you live, wether your rent or own.
This was my grandparents house. The man you dealt with was my grandpa. My room was the fish tank room. That weird box thing in the garage is a speaker built into the wall. Speakers are built into the walls floors and ceiling all throughout the upstairs. And the thermostat is that little screen inside the door among other things.
I just watched this for the first time and I was curious about what happened to the owner; your grandpa as it turns out. What happened? Is he a hoarder? Where did he go?
@anna3036 my grandma is mainly the hoarder but yes they both had junk. They bought the house to retire in but the family all moved to Oklahoma so they sold and moved with. Eventually they split though
My mom was a hoarder. After she died, I was the chosen one to clean out the house. I had an industrial dumpster delivered outside one of the windows. 9 TONS OF TRASH, 9 tons! That didn’t include many trips to Goodwill. It was a nightmare! Good luck to you!
I've cleaned after two sets of parents died; no hoarders thank goodness. It's not the tossing things but seeing all the memories. Very, very difficult. 9 tons. I cannot imagine!!!! Don't want to!
The Glass Blocks are valuable. My most recent move was horrible. I put a nonrefundable deposit on the company. On my final day in the house the van came, took a look, called it a hoard and left!!! Three times I told the mover that the buyer had said I could leave things behind. I packed everything carefully yet he left my things there. I'm now in Florida in my completely new life with a man I love and who loves me. Was it worth losing everything I owned? You bet!!! He had to leave alot behind too. Together we are building up a household along with our 2 dogs. Life is good. God is great and must've realized I deserved people more than belongings. Have a wonderful day, Mark!
It’s disgusting. I’d love to share what my tenants live like with you! It still shocks me people live this way. I’m still in process of getting them out. They were running an animal shelter out of the house, 22 animals seized by SPCA. Craziest thing I’ve ever dealt with😢
Why do renters do things like this? My friend has some properties he rents out and has a nice 4 bedR rancher with and amazing open floor basement. The former tenant decided to start an IPA microbrewing/Rum operation. Cut holes in the walls to run pipes, there was spray foam insulation everywhere. He had 7 dogs. Only gave a SD for one animal, rerouted the bathroom pipes to run into a filter for the stills and had a random guy living in the basement (just in case) one of the stills exploded, his job was to put out the fire. The renter painted over electrical outlets, cut a hole in the door for a makeshift doggo door. It was insane!
@@TheKnives777 omg!!!! It has to (for the most part) have to do w/ being a renter & not understanding/respecting home ownership. That sounds too obvious though right? I’m sure there are homeowners who do stupid stuff as well.

23:09 that HP-L2650 could be worth something like $3,000 to 5,000 if it works. And if it does not work, you should be able to sell it for several hundred dollars as is.
The Big Black HP Vinyl printer is worth about 200-1000$. Based on the current condition it is about 300ish dollars. I use printers similar to this one when making banners, posters, and vinyl cut-outs for clothing. However, that sticker with the G on it looks like it might be rented by the previous owner. Our printers are contracted through AmCom/Xerox and they have a similar sticker.
😮well your video just popped up so I clicked to view it! First you need some kind of medal for even attempting to deal with this mess!! this needs to be submitted to A& E for their hoarders episode. It's makes me feel great to see these videos of how bad it looks AFTER they move their stuff out because I think I'm a hoarder but I don't have half the amount of stuff they apparently had AND my house is a lot cleaner.
That's so horrible I almost have no words. All of that is trash. I wonder if it would be more economical to take down some of that back fence and bring a bulldozer and dumpsters. The backyard is much larger than I was expecting, but that means that much more trash. It will be interesting to see what the electrical, plumbing and HVAC people say. Is it just the camera or those bedroom doors very narrow in the rooms super small? The kitchen puny and horrible layout? The foyer, or lack thereof.... There is a lot of work to be done but I'm sure you can make it look a lot better.
Such a bizarre situation! Seeing so much left behind and in the manner it was left, makes you scratch your head and ask, what took so long!? Sometimes, you just can't explain stupid people though. Glad you're on your way and moving forward! Very entertaining none the less, albeit probably a little at your expense lol Keep it up Mark!
Woooooow. Watching your vids like these always makes me want to go clean up my house. When all the junk is out, that house is going to look so much bigger.
I hope that you can get this house cleaned out for around $10k. Where I live it is $700 just to rent a construction dumpster. There is a lot of junk at this house. I can’t wait to see what this house looks like when you are finished with it.

Omg, I can't believe how nasty dirty some people are. How can anyone live in a place like this? You're going to need a couple of semi trucks to haul all that trash away.
It’s probably not a good idea to just put an ad out that says free stuff and sit there and unlock the doors. People rummaging will make a bigger mess. I looked on Google maps and I would say just take down a few chunks of that fence and have a bobcat come and scoop everything into a dumpster from the main street
OMG !!!!!!!!! Kudos to you and all the great people out there that do this for a living !! I wouldn't know where to even start.............take a match to it. Joking . Good luck...keep us posted !!
I think I saw a pair of speakers in the tool room. My aunt and my friends have the same floor plan; this house is beyond trashed. It’s a complete gut with like 12 dumpsters just for the trash. I wouldn’t trust anything in it as far as gas, electrical, or plumbing. Who knows if they cut anything structural.
I'm late to the party, but it doesn't look too bad to me as hoarder houses go. There was a bunch of stuff that looked poorly done/jerry-rigged. I saw a lot of scrap metal, wire, etc inside and out, so someone should be willing to haul that away for you for free just to resell to a scrapyard. You may even want to call your local scrapyard to see if they will do it or give you the name of someone they know who will do it. Some of that furniture didn't look too bad, even the stuff outside, but I know from just doing a clean out myself that sometimes you can't give decent stuff away. I saw a bunch of stuff that contractors or places like Habitat for Humanity Re-Store could use, but again you have to get them to come to you. Maybe drag all the salvageable stuff outside in piles, cover the piles with tarps and put an ad online about free stuff with a one week window for pickup. After that just get a couple of dumpsters and start filling them. The blow-mold snow man might bring a few bucks, but I'm thinking the scrap metal, wire and ripped out furnace would bring more. Also, the aquarium equipment if in good condition might bring a few bucks. I saw a lot of random cabinet and dresser drawers laying around. Crafters like to use old drawers for frames and shadow boxes, so you could gather them up and list them in a lot for crafters/artists. I noticed a nice looking baby high chair outside that I bet some women's shelter would take. I could see daylight around some of those outside doors so you might want to address that issue so critters don't get in. The sheds on the property might be sellable unless you want to keep them. Good luck with this project!
Lights coming on randomly, security cameras might be still active, along with the general creepy feeling this house is giving off? Ugh! God bless you! This house is absolutely disgusting! 🙏🏻❤️
Tear it all out back to the studs . Then tear out half of the interior walls . When you get to that point it’ll be time to put it back together in a much more organized way . Good luck .
The glass blocks are loved by crafter's, and you can probably get $2.50-$5 for each block. They also make an amazing divider wall,(pony wall) when stained or painted with lights inside= a really cool art piece 😜
There is probably enough scrap metal in that mess to make a dent in the amount of stuff that needs to be disposed of. When I sold my properties I started about two years before getting rid of stuff, either scrapping, selling donating and throwing away. My ultimate goal was leaving the country so pretty much everything had to go.
What a dump! 😱 @23.35 looks to be a central vacuum system and I believe the pvc with the black cap (sticking out of the wall above it) is a cleanout port in case it gets clogged it can be snaked out. It has potential, good luck!
What a mess ,gas leaking dodgy electrical wiring and may have destroyed the integrity of the house by cutting holes where holes should not be. Looking forward to see this turn round, thank you for saving a lovely house.
The kind of folks who win auctions of storage unit and clean them out are the kind of folks you should hire to do the cleanup of this house. Probably would do it for free in exchange for keeping anything worth $$$, and they could have a free pile on the lawn for a day so useable things get carried away. That will make a lot less to go into dumpsters and into the landfill. (You provide the roll off dumpsters)
I think the murder room in this one is the space under the deck where the smell was coming from. That chemical barrel may be connected to the murder process as well. Maybe you can just convert this property into a commercial junkyard. I think you could probably do with and have no problem with zoning.
@@investfourmore Oh, know that you mention it, I can't believe you forgot to show us the murder room. But you're right, I think the entire house is the murder room. Lol
I could never do this for a living, I have severe anxiety regarding bugs.. cockroaches, bed bugs etc... Just watching videos like this makes my skin crawl
What slobs! At least you don't have beer drinkers coming in and leaving their beer bottles laying around like in the vacant house I just bought. I put boards over the front door, they pushed the door in! I secured the door better, put more no trespassing signs on the front porch, put a litheum battery light in the front bedroom, no ones tried to get in since. Someone stole all the wiring in the house a few years ago. I hope to have the house livable and move in, in a few months.
Lucky you-at least for one reason-TH-cam is pushing your content. It’s not my usual thing yet it’s recommended.. I’ll sub to see what happens. It’s really hard for me to imagine you even breaking even on this disaster, but I’m no expert. At least you’ll be a hero to the neighbors, who have probably been living a nightmare . Good luck!
I sold a property with an agreement to leave my "Stuff" behind. I left things organized and together to view and move, but all trash and food. Clothing was removed. Much was donated by me, and I left the larger things like portable shelving, some furniture, old appliances and tools - some really good stuff - for keeping or sale. The place was clean. What a disgrace to leave the place in this shape. Terrible. You could go through everything - quite easily - and remain clean. I even left some clean towels, soap and toilet paper in clean baths (2). I replaced the Gas Heat & AC earlier in the year. You certainly earned your pay in this one. Thanks.
I'd be worried about the work/renovations those people did to the house. ugh Looks like the kind of work the homeowners before us did. 🙃 Those neighbors should be quite happy you are taking this one on. wow...
Drop 3, 20 yard dumpsters to start. It will take about 2-3 more after you start to rotate those out. Rent a skid steer for 3-4 days in the yard. 200-220 man hours. That will give you a clean slate to put it back together. It’s usually a good financial hit when meters have need removed because you need that trade to look at that system a lot closer before they give it a thumbs up, present it to the AHJ and then they will give it the blessing for the new meter install.
This is horrible. Unfortunately my dad, he's got a property like that. I've been trying to help him for years to clean it up and I finally gave up because it's as soon as we make some room, he fills it back up.
We had one like this recently but it was also infested with roaches and spiders. We ended up having to order 3 of the 30 yard dumpsters plus a trailer full. That did not include the trash out for the Demo, just to empty the trash they left behind. 🤦🏻♂️
Man I dont know what comps are in that neighborhood. But I would have passed. 50k for remodel seems cheap on this one. I do this for a living in Missouri. And i would have given 155-175 depending on roof and furnace. But clean up alone scares me on that one. Good luck I’ll keep watching !!
Being given any time after closing is better than what my mother got. She had to be moved out by closing and anything left on the property at closing was lost. They would not let them even go back onto the property to get items in the yard and would call the police for them trespassing.
I had a very strange feeling about that house from the first time you put it in a video but after the walk through I was throughly creeped out, it feels very heavy and sad I wonder if someone passed while living in that house. I feel grief, depression and profound loneliness in there. I think there is spirit there please let us know if you or your workers see or hear strange noises or see things.
That furnace looks like it didn't have a return ducting. They leave big gaps under the interior doors so the coool air settles back down the basement to be reheated. Then the furnace "room" is supposed to have a louvered door for the circulation. I wonder if that kind of set-up is even legal anymore.
Darn it. I would have been over the moon to find those white ceramics in that box. Still in plastic too. I paint those and they are expensive, especially that brand of those Village pieces.
@@investfourmore yes, sir. I was looking everywhere for those houses and some go on ebay for upwards of $80. They were made in the 90's. I can find a few for $30 on Etsy but I have them already and they are the smaller pieces. Even the white ceramics that are not that brand are worth something. I got so excited when you pulled that out of there, lol.
The neighbors will be happy to see the clean up from the outside. It will take time for a clean up crew to finish the outside to the inside of the house. When the house is done it will look amazing inside for the next family to live in it. Life back in the back yard for kids to play in it.
It will likely take multiple metal detectors and rolling roofing magnets and whatever else is available to do similar to thoroughly get anything dangerous out of the yard before any kids could safely play back there.
What I see Mark is a minimal of about 6 40 yard dumpsters and lots and lots of work..... Plotters are interesting and expensive new but that one looked pretty trashed and if in somewhere where it might have froze - probably junk. The rest of it looks like an awful lot of "redneck" remodeling so I am hoping that you do not find a lot of expensive suprises during remodel as not out of the realm.
S8nce this was from ages ago I don't know if you'll see this comment, but I noticed the snowman blow mold in the yard. Those often bring decent money. I watch many thrifter channels.

OMG !!!!!!!!! Kudos to you and all the great people out there that do this for a living !! I wouldn't know where to even start.............take a match to it. Joking . Good luck...keep us posted !!
Run a contest for guessing how many dumpsters it takes to clear this out. Ugh!
I bet the neighbors are so happy that the sellers are finally gone. No doubt they're saying: Good riddance!
Yes!
Well at least they had plastic runners protecting the carpet. LoL
Looks kinda rough but I can see a lot of potential in that house, it should make a nice place when it's done
Extreme DIY. I wonder if this house was on HGTV before? I wonder if the thermostat is hidden just like the exterior outlet.
Lights coming on randomly, security cameras might be still active, along with the general creepy feeling this house is giving off? Ugh! God bless you! This house is absolutely disgusting! 🙏🏻❤️
How the heck do people always trash the kitchen cupboards? Geez. Every hoarder house seems to have broken drawers and cupboards.
If it's anything like my dad's house, the cabinets and things break and they just don't fix them.
Margo you are really an honest person. I respect you
Tear it all out back to the studs . Then tear out half of the interior walls . When you get to that point it’ll be time to put it back together in a much more organized way . Good luck .
I personally would love to get my hands on the glass blocks. I am located in Colorado and would be willing to drive to get them.
The glass blocks are loved by crafter's, and you can probably get $2.50-$5 for each block.
They also make an amazing divider wall,(pony wall) when stained or painted with lights inside= a really cool art piece 😜
I wish I lived closer that vintage (possibly antique) wood desk/hutch against that fence is a pretty penny… you should check the bottom for the maker
The panel hanging out of the wall is a central control panel. That’s where your lights and thermostat control are.
@23.35 looks to be a central vacuum system and I believe the pvc with the black cap (sticking out of the wall above it) is a cleanout port in case it gets clogged it can be snaked out.
🤣🤣 the whole place is a murder room!
@@investfourmore Oh, know that you mention it, I can't believe you forgot to show us the murder room. But you're right, I think the entire house is the murder room. Lol
I just stumbled on you channel. That house will be awesome when fixed up. I love the fish tank in the wall. Good luck.
I can not imagine how many bins it will take to empty the house.
I could never do this for a living, I have severe anxiety regarding bugs.. cockroaches, bed bugs etc...
Just watching videos like this makes my skin crawl
My wish came true! I briefly saw your supra in the last one. I guessed the year correct. I had an 85 turbo. Such a fast and fun car!
3:05 That receptacle cover is not UL listed.
Good luck!
thanks!
Thanks.
Good luck! The potential exists, as usual, the work is needed!
I'd be worried about the work/renovations those people did to the house. ugh Looks like the kind of work the homeowners before us did. 🙃 Those neighbors should be quite happy you are taking this one on. wow...
It almost impossible to get to the light switches in a hoarder’s house. That’s why their automatic
247k for that?...as a general contractor that level of remodel they did gave me the wtfs.....
There is gold in computer monitors....my dad used to take them apart to get it out.
I gasped when you pulled them out; the ceramic houses at 16:09 can be worth 50-60+ each. I would have grabbed thoughs
Being given any time after closing is better than what my mother got. She had to be moved out by closing and anything left on the property at closing was lost. They would not let them even go back onto the property to get items in the yard and would call the police for them trespassing.
I guess you wanted to use your former property for a storage yard…doesn’t work that way
Paint and new flooring will work wonders.
Holy crap that place is rough! Such a weird layout too. Hope everything goes okay with the remodel...
Looks like he had a computer repair business.
I already hear strange noises in there ahah
Put the stuff on the out side put a sign saying free stuff if will be gone in a few min.
You had me at the Supra. Most underrated GT car ever. 7Mgte&1J are the O.G. LS engines, overbuilt and cheap to tune.
That furnace looks like it didn't have a return ducting.
They leave big gaps under the interior doors so the coool air settles back down the basement to be reheated.
Then the furnace "room" is supposed to have a louvered door for the circulation.
I wonder if that kind of set-up is even legal anymore.
I wonder if the hole in the wall was they tried to install a fishtank into the wall maybe? That's what it looks like
The water fountain outside by the driveway is nice
Darn it. I would have been over the moon to find those white ceramics in that box. Still in plastic too. I paint those and they are expensive, especially that brand of those Village pieces.
really?
