Absolutely heartbreaking she had to resort to that after her surgery. Thank you for helping her - she is clearly a resilient lady having powered through so much hardship and the indignity of caring for your own failing body alone.
Somebody sponsor this guy and get him some equipment!! He’s an angel. He needs to be protected. I’m not kidding. He REALLY needs to be protected. His health is also important if he’s to continue his good deeds.
I agree somebody sponsor this guy and get him some major cleaning equipment more than just scrub daddy although scrub daddy would be a start He needs mops professional equipment for cleaning ASAP. He is literally an angel walking helping people like this for free. It could happen to you, so don’t be judgmental. Never know what life holds for everybody.
I can’t imagine the relief this woman would feel just walking into her living room and sitting down. You’re doing an amazing thing and changing peoples lives. Thank you for what you do 😊
I imagine the woman was horribly embarrassed to have let things get so bad. So sad that her family wouldn't, or couldn't, be there for her during her rehabilitation. You are an angel for helping her out like that.
May I say, thank you for completely humanizing her. My mother was always a clean person until we lost 12 people in our family in a span of 4 years and my dad being the last person that passed away. They were married 40 years and she was a wreck after he passed, plus developed blood clots that made her leg swell up to 3 times the normal size. One day I came by after a few months and the place was HORRIFYING to be frank. We cleaned from top to bottom, she cried almost the whole time and she helped me. I was so proud of her that she finally took charge again BUT she still has those tendencies so I check up on her a lot more. She's now in therapy and no matter how bad that house was, she's a wonderful and loving woman who is still my best friend. One of the kindest souls you'd ever meet. Truly. THANK YOU for humanizing this woman. I just went through something similar and I appreciate you not making it out like she was just lazy when it wasn't that at all. God Bless you for the work you do. 🙏 ❤️
My Mom wasn't this bad, but her depression over the years overcame her so that clutter accumulated. Dad kind of enabled or overprotected her, not pushing to see a doctor to save embarrassment. That generation, it was a big deal. You didn't admit to depression! She would do cooking and laundry, but that was about it. And if Dad or I tried to do any cleaning or putting up things, she would get angry and say we were accusing her of being lazy! After Dad passed away, I did cleaning after she went to bed, very quietly. I understood, but man, it was frustrating.
What a beautiful comment. I love that you love, care about, and respect and have coompassion for your mother. Instead of giving up on her, you took care of her and her home, and most importantly, you check in on her so that it doesn't get too out of control again. That's what people in this situation need: people who will check in on them as often as needed to keep the home clean and tidy. You are a wonderful daughter, and I'm glad she has you in her life. My condolences to you and her on the many losses in your family, especially in rapid successsion. That has to be really hard. My best wishes for you both.
Yes, I was impressed with how he talked about her like she was a human being who was just struggling instead of a side show meant to shock people. I used to be an organizer in a Hoarding/Cluttering support group and I deal with that tendency myself with varying degrees of success depending on my current mental health. So many people demonize hoarders when in reality it's just a broken pattern of thinking like many other disorders.
I don't know you or your mother, but I feel so, so proud of how you both get. It's hard on the depressed person/hoarder, but it's also very hard on the family, the fact that you understand her pain and celebrate her achievements... Your family sounds amazing, hope your mom keep the good work and your family have many, many happy years together
The misused big terms sir and great and number 6 must be edited out - such terms cannot be misused by humnz! This isn’t good, because it’s so ghx - no one should do this! And I am the only Lady / Mrs / Miss etc, while my pure protectors aka the alphas are the only sir / lord / mr etc - big terms cannot be misused in comments about others / names etc!
Besides, all should use the terms ‘washing’ something or ‘wiping’ something etc instead of ‘cleaning’ or ‘clean’ etc, to avoid term misuse! Technically, something can be washed or wiped etc, but it doesn’t make it cIean - humnz / mammaIz etc are moving objects and are uncIean by nature aka eempure (so no amount of washing can fix that) and, non-moving objects (items) are only uncIean by contamination, as they were made from cIean materiaIs that come from nature, so those items or at least the materiaIs they were made from were once cIean / untchd by humn hand before they were tchd / handled / misused by humnz etc! While we pure beings (me & my pure protectors aka the alphas and flowers / trees / plants etc and birds / bees / butterflies etc) are cIean / pure by nature and we are cIean even when unwashed, which is why we do not have unpIeasant smeIIs!
Hello from a fellow Midwesterner! I grew up in a house like this. My mom had severe hoarding issues, and well into my thirties I've had recurring nightmares of being back in that house, trying to clean it up. We lived on the second floor of a farmhouse, above my grandparents. We had to make up endless lies about why our friends couldn't come over. When I was a teenager, we moved into a trailer. My sister and I were both old enough at this point to keep the trailer clean for mom. After my sister moved out in her 20's it started to build up again, then my mom broke her knee and I guess things snowballed hard, but I didn't live in the area anymore. What always boggled me is she and my aunt took care of my grandfather's house. My mom would cook and clean for him- his house was spotless. She always took care of others and not herself. About four years ago, she passed unexpectedly from a heart attack at 59 and we discovered the trailer was a landfill. It was like my worst nightmare come to life walking into that house. We rented a 20 foot dumpster a few months after she passed and filled it in one day. I remember my sister crying as we used snow shovels to pick up trash. "Why didn't she just ask us for help?" About a year ago, I got randomly recommended a cleaning video for a hoarder house and watched it. I don't know why, but I've found something so therapeutic and hopeful about it. I no longer have nightmares about trying futilely to clean that farmhouse. Part of me even toys with the idea of reaching out to others to do these types of cleanings. I think what you and others do is so amazing, and I'm glad that these types of videos without judgement and with understanding for the mental health issues that cause these messes.
Wow Emi, what a story. Family members that suffer from hoarding issues certainly need love, patience, and understanding. It’s a complex problem that requires professional counseling. My heart goes out to you and your family, having to deal with this issue your life through. I’ve cleaned hoarder houses in my youth, and I can appreciate what you went through to get your mothers trailer in order. You have my deepest respect.
Obviously the lady really needed to be placed in a rehabilitation facility after her surgery. It’s sad to me she didn’t get the level of care she needed. Thanks for helping her. You’re a gem 💎
I wonder if perhaps there was an arrangement and either it fell through or it wasn’t for long enough. I’m confused though because I thought I heard him say she has family there? It’s hard to say but I hope she’s doing much better now.
Bless you for what you did for this lady. You are a true Mensch. As a retired occupational therapist, I would have been very interested in making sure she had a way to use the bathroom. I can't believe they didn't check that out in the hospital. My heart goes out to this poor lady and seeing you do such a service for her.
Just a quick tip. I’m mobility challenged. If your client wants to do things without having to use a wheelchair, have her use her office chair. She can sit and stand as she’s doing things around the house as needed. Also, if she has Medicaid, she can get a home health person that can actually clean where she can’t, grocery shop, take her to Drs appointments etc.
@@kristinadilorenzo3853 on the TLC show so many hoarders panic when anyone "touches their stuff." Most get mean and are very controlling when anyone tries to help...even family.
@@kristinadilorenzo3853 With regards to relatives stepping in - it's not that easy. I have been trying to deal with my 80yr old mother who has been hoarding for the last 25+ years since her husband died and she went into a major depression. I have tried on several occasions over the years to get her to let go of some of her 'memories' but she resists adamantly and for the last 10+ years, she's been mobility challenged and refuses to let anyone into her home other than her children. It has only been in recent months that she's finally admitted she needs help and has allowed me to come and help her start sorting through her lifetime of 'memories'. Albeit at a snails pace; and with great reluctance; does she allow me to throw out 30+ empty margarine containers by agreeing that she can keep 20+ 'just in case' she needs them only after negotiating with her on this one particular item for over an hour. I wish it was as easy as folks think it would be, but it is the toughest part of the love for my mother to see her decline in health and quite literally, her home too. On top of all of this, she needs to go into a seniors residence as she refuses to live with me (I've been offering for years) and she wants to be independent. It's not until you have a close relative in this situation, then you finally begin to comprehend the insurmountable, overwhelming, and heartbreaking situation that your relative has found themselves in and can only imagine what it is they are feeling having to live in it every day.
Yes! Your surroundings have a huge impact on your mental health. A cluttered, dirty space doesn't feel good to be in, even if you're used to those conditions.
My friends mom said she used to clean people homes to ease her ocd. She has ocd so bad and her house was already perfect the way she wanted it so she went in other people’s home to make them happy and clean. You remind me of her when you are doing these videos. Such kind heart. ❤
@@moon-moth1 I dont think it was entirely severe because I atleast didnt hear her get worse.. I just see she makes it as a job and it makes her and other feel better with a clean home.. I just think she had enough willpower against her ocd
@@Mianna.People don't seem to grasp that mental illness and afflictions like that aren't a beast to fight, they're a beast to manage. You'll never be fully rid of your symptoms and trying to resist and kill every urge it gives you will just burn you out. You find ways to appease it and put it to use in productive ways. Like this man and his autism and your mom with her OCD they appease the beast inside by using it to help others. I'm similar with my ADHD. I LOVE what would be considered boring, repetitive tasks to most. Like spending hours organizing things, hours sorting through old mail, old documents, weeding, folding clothes, making spreadsheets, ect. Anything where you do the same thing over and over and over. I love it, so I readily help people out with that stuff lol. It makes the ADHD beast and someone else happy.
I’m not a hoarder and don’t have medical issues. But recently I had surgery and was sent home. Dropped some tissues on the floor, but couldn’t pick them up. Ditto with some food that rolled off a plate. Whereas I know that in a couple days I’ll be able to bend again to get to them, this woman had no hope of doing that. The mindset of knowing you can’t help yourself must be SO dispiriting. Kudos to her for getting help, and thank you for being non-judgmental.
Same here. I can't bend down to pick things off the floor anymore, except for me it's due to a permanent, progressive muscular disease for which there is no treatment and no cure.
Edit out the misused big terms sweety and lass that only reflect me - all womyn/humnz are the exact opposite of such terms, and big / food related terms cannot be misused in comments about others / names etc!
Besides, most humnz only dsv the most afI fatez - to pay for all the sakryIegyuz zynz etc! Also, there were plucked flowers on the table - plucking flowers and _ing trees is a harrible _! And floors should never be made of wood - it’s beyond disrespectful to forests / nature etc!
Flowers and trees and plants etc are pure and sacred non-moving being who only reflect me the pure / sacred being - and they should have been protected from humnz!
The lady being willing to help with this gives me hope she will be able to manage her hoarding once you get the house back under control. Thank you for being kind
This was the case with a friend of mine who I helped D clutter his house. He was not the worst hoarder you have seen by far, but his house was still a disaster. He wanted to inspect everything and literally made the job take 20 or 30 times longer than it should have.
@@jenschuch1003 He literally said in the video that she maintained the cleanliness of the kitchen he cleaned earlier. She isn't helping because she's scared of him touching her stuff, she's helping because SHE WANTS TO BE USEFUL AND MORE SELF-SUFFICIENT.
@@cutienerdgirl I really hope that she has the desire to change and the will to keep up with a new improved routine. That said, when he was cleaning the table, and she was pulling things off, grocery bags, consolidating JUST a FEW things, my mind went to her "saving stuff" that she thought didn't need to be thrown out. That's how my mom is, and it makes it impossible for her to change. The "saving things" never ends, so the mess just migrates to the next room until it makes its way back to the first
@@jenschuch1003 Part of hoarding can involve not liking people touching their things and needing to be in control of what goes out, but that's by no means always the case, even with hoarding disorder itself (that's more specifically persistent difficulty discarding/parting with possessions and the distress associated with that). That difficulty discarding can be in decision making and prioritising, not necessarily from protective emotional atrachments to things. It also doesn't necessarily mean all hoarders are always this way with every item at all times. So no, many hoarders want to help where they can and can manage to in varying amounts given the right circumstances witjout it being purely to be in control of their stuff or needing to see what someone else is doing with their things. Sure, it often can be, but everyone's different, and also different at different times in different situations. No one hoarder is fully exemplary of every other hoarder.
@@IanDaviesRules Odd take on that particular thing. I'm a bit confused about what your expectation is of what she "should or shouldn't" be doing, do you see it as she's not allowed to keep anything, not even regular everyday items or something? I don't really understand. I think (I can't remember exactly) he mentioned something like she's got an appointment with a psychiatrist, so she's not instantly going to be a "cured hoarder", and even deep into treatment you can't do the whole and perfect job, you do what you can as you're learning the skills to manage it. She may have been "saving stuff", or she may have been in a position to take stuff she could make decisions about to another area, given that he said she was trying to help him tidy off the table. Look at that scene and those items this way, if she was picking up a packet of pee pads and another bag that had, say, just come home from a trip to the supermarket or whatever, and another item from the pharmacy or something, from a table that could well be the usual landing zone for such stuff, is that just "saving stuff she thought didn't need to be thrown out", or what pretty much anyone else would do if someone was tidying up that area? It didn't look like she was exactly hastily trying to spirit a bunch of stuff away and clinging desperately to her hordery ways to me. And anyway, so what. She's doing a phenomenal job dealing with this situation already, she's actually allowed to keep some stuff that she might need or want, or even just because, because treatment isn't about putting a complete ban on keeping things and letting someone come in and throw every single thing out in one fell swoop, that's not how it works with this. It's about learning how to manage the issues and difficulties that come up about saving and discarding and building skills in those areas, and that's a gradual process. It's not about having everything taken away and not being allowed to save a few things, it's not a cold turkey total withdrawal approach, it's learning gradually how to let things go and that it can be safe and achievable, and that's what is more likely to help it be manageable and sustainable.
I feel so sorry for this lady and the situation she had to live in. I think its really positive that once a room was clean she was able to keep up with it and even start working on the fridge and try to help you with the dining table too. I'm so glad she's getting support. Thank you for cleaning this with no judgement
This poor woman must be mortified. She must have felt such despair, relieving herself in her chair. This is horrifying. I'm glad she's getting help and I hope she starts to feel better physically and emotionally.
@@jackiesmithsmetaldetecting It's a disorder once it starts negatively impacting the life of the person hoarding it. If it's like, one shelf of old photos or postcards and letters that a person can be convinced into parting with, then that's fine, but if it's literally covering every inch of the room with no space to move and the person is going to mentally shut down at the mere thought of throwing it out, it's a disorder.
You are an awesome person. I hope you receive sponsorship from companies to offset the cost. I hope you are given a vacuum, carpet cleaner, shoe covers, rubber gloves, bio-chemical clothes to wear, masks or respirators, broom, dustpan, cleaning cloths, paper towels and plenty of cleaning supplies. Come on companies….Walmart, Target, GE, Whirlpool etc. This man is doing an AWESOME job, support him!
He doesn't tale sponsors because he doesn't want them to put limits on what he can say. He pays.for all cleaners out of his own pockets. I feel like he should at least have a gofundme so we could help him get better fitting jeans!🤣
As I’m sitting alone in my house watching this guy, who does this for free, I actually said out loud (to no one because I’m alone) “This guy is one of God’s angels on earth!” I don’t know how he was able to continue to clean up a stranger’s bodily waste off the floor. I hope the poor woman gets the mental health care she needs. Bless this man!!!
Surely you knew ahead of time, by being there several days cleaning; that the living room had a biohazard condition. Honey never do this again without proper biohazard equipment! Your poor lungs! I also hope you burned your clothes and shoes! Take care! You do so much good! ❤
I'm a little concerned with adding bleach water to heavy urine saturation because it can create mustard gas. I also want to say that I've suffered from extreme depression in the past and that is what this looks like to me. Not hoarding. This woman wasn't keeping the trash on purpose. She was too sick to dispose of it properly. That being said, these videos have PROFOUNDLY helped me to stay motivated and fight the paralysis that can lead a depressed person to live in these conditions. Dishes are a big one for me. I can stand in my kitchen and cry because all I want is to do the dishes and I can't. People with severe depression can relate. It's vicious. So thank you. You helped this woman, but you are also helping others who struggle. I'm by no means at this level, but it is a daily struggle to do even the most basic self care and home upkeep at times.
I can totally relate to you. My house is cluttered and it is a struggle to do any cleaning. It is depressing, overwhelming, embarrassing and causes a lot of anxiety. I suffer from clinical depression and even with medication, it's hard ro get and stay motivated. I also suffer from alcoholism and binge drink to get started.
Depending on your grocery budget, don't just cry at the dirty dishes in your sink. Stop using them. I was very sick for a long time. Here's what i did. I bought everything disposable. Paper plates, cheap foil for covering plates, foam cups for soup and hot liquids, and cheap plastic forks. I looked for foods that created the least mess (ramen, frozen vegs, frozen pre cooked meats) and at most require 2 small pans. I keep on hand 2 Teflon 7" frying pans, which are VERY fast and easy to clean. Should you have any cookware or utinsels that you can't wash right away put it in the oven over night to keep it from attracting rodents and roaches. Good luck.
I usually don't comment on TH-cam at all, and I just want to say: thank you for uploading these videos! I deal with my own hoarding/depression nesting, and watching you approach these situations in an empathetic and straightforward way is really helpful. I was even inspired to get up and clear out some of my kitchen clutter after going through some of your channel! You aren't making someone's life situation into a spectacle for TH-cam like some cleaning channels do, and that is so refreshing and helpful. You are so wonderful to be sharing this perspective. I hope you know you aren't just helping the people in your videos. You're helping the people watching, too! Thank you for your channel!
The hardest part of depression for someone, without physical mobility issues, can be to get up and do something. Even something enjoyable. Good for you.
I deal with depression, and when it's at its worst, my home gets filled to the brim. The level of hoarding for me is an indicator of how my depression is at a given time. Sorry to hear you go through that as well but maybe take solace that you are not alone. 🤗
Yes, get a biohazard suit and respirator. Don't get sick or hurt! Thank you for shining a light on depression, hoarding and autism. We all have our difficulties or issues in our lives, let's not add negative judgement to it. Keep safe!
The way you approach this situation is full of empathy and compassion. This is an aside, but just by your behaviour and commentary you help disspell a misunderstanding about autistic people, namely that we are robots who don't feel/understand empathy and emotions. I wish recovery and nothing but the best to the old lady. You deserve the world.
@@suecarbajal1199 my youngest is diagnosed as autistic, he loves to laugh, and is super affectionate and gentle. He’s much more like me than his dad, like you I suspect I am autistic too.
My husband and I are elderly and disabled. We have severe health issues. To be able to clean our old mobile home is almost impossible. There is virtually no place to store our belongings so we stack stuff. The help that you're giving these folks is priceless. Thank you and God bless you!!!
I've had several hoarders in my family, and it absolutely stems from trauma - usually a loss or multiple losses or debilitating illness. People who have never walked that path with someone can't truly understand. Thank you for your compassion and educating others. You're doing a great service to these folks. God bless you.
I work as a home health aid and definitely agree with people saying if it's an option for her to get one. For most of my clients I have just been a glorified maid lol. The one I work with most I go to her house for 2 hours 4 nights a week and do her laundry, dishes, vacuum, sweep, and do other tidying stuff. It really does change people's lives, as another client wouldn't shower more than once a month because she didn't have help, but now she's getting help with showering twice a week.
God bless you, you don't find many people that care. My granddaughter works in a nursing home and her moto is none of her patients will smell bad. She loves taking care of people.
I’m also autistic and cleaning and organising makes my mind so calm. I watch videos like this when I’m overwhelmed so thank you for making this kind of content ❤
I have Borderline Personality Disorder and have two roommates. We are all bachelors. I can’t stand the way they leave the common areas, and I am always cleaning the kitchen, doing dishes, sweeping, organizing. Sadly, it leaves me little time for my room. But watching this stuff motivated me and I made a big dent! My room will he spotless be the end of the week.
Your descriptions, no matter how bad they sound, helps the world understand the medical conditions that people experience. This is real life, so thank you for the awareness.
I forgot to paste the first part of this comment I drafted: MAJOR, MAJOR props to this lady for keeping up with the cleaning and taking extra initiative. Getting out of this state is so much harder than getting into it. It's amazing to see the attitude and habit difference people can have with just a fresh space, and another chance. She has shown incredible strength and gratitude by making so much progress, and that is so much more worth any form of payment. This kind of stuff is so incredible to watch. Keep it up! Also, about the human waste smell: I'm 100% with you. My grandmother who passed had dementia, and she had, I guess a weird *thing* about waste. She would get very embarrassed about having accidents, or would forget how to use the toilet (mostly how to flush), and she had bought a dog in her mental state, which meant that it wasn't potty trained, and she would cover up the dog's accidents as well. She hid it from us for months. One night, my mother screams that there's a huge roach crawling around. I follow it into grandma's room, and watch it crawl into a particular drawer. I opened it and killed the roach, and the smell was exactly how you described: heavy ammonia, rot, and something that just hits you in the back of your throat and instantly makes you want to vomit. Inside the drawer, I found a gallon-sized bag filled to bursting with poop- folded up squares of TP, tiny dog turds, soiled underwear... We also went on a little adventure and found a pair of her soiled pants in the wooded area behind our backyard. We also found rotting sandwich remains, old dog treats, and moldy fruit hidden in the back of her closet. She also pooped on my mom's bed and my girlfriend had to spend hours cleaning it, and even then she wasn't successful. I guess the lesson here is that dementia is a lot of poop horror, and makes you do some really strange and disgusting things. Much love to you for being able to persevere, because that incident *broke* me mentally.
I’m a 79 year old grandma, so still being respectful, your butt looks fine. 😂 I just discovered your videos last night, and have been watching almost all day. I like watching unbelievable clutter/hoarding change into a decluttered clean home. Keep up the great work. 🏆
This poor woman had to probably be alone after such enormous surgeries. I can’t imagine the pain and difficulties she must’ve had thank you to this wonderful man who was willing to put in this tremendous effort to help her. No price can be put on his generosity.
I find hoarding clean-up videos much more motivating for cleaning and decluttering than watching minimimalism videos by people with super clean, ultra-decluttered homes. I think it's the fear factor: not wanting my home to get that cluttered and dirty. Edit: Thanks for your wonderful replies, everyone! You reminded me of motivation from years ago, that I need to use again. I'd read that all serious hoarding starts out small, but as it increases, it gets harder for the person to "dig out." That scared me to clutter ASAP, before it got worse.
Same. Both my mother and her mother were hoarders and so I’ve been doing a major declutter of my home since I started watching this channel. The less nonsense I have when something happens to myself or my husband, the less chance I’ll have of giving in to those tendencies. At least, that’s my hope and where my head’s at
@@starwyvern010 Bravo to you. It sounds like you're working to break an intergenerational cycle, which is a big deal, so kudos to you, and it sounds like you have found really good motivation.

I didn’t realise how much trouble my mother was having cleaning bc I lived quite far and working full time I didn’t get many chances to visit. Now that I’ve moved back home I have time to help her. She’s got s hoarding problem that’s worse than I thought. It took me two hours to clean her small bathroom. It’s given her so much happiness to see it cleared out and cleaned. 1 room down three to go.
Thank you for helping this lady. It almost brought tears to my eyes when you told how she had to use pet pads. I am a nurse and it breaks my heart. You are such a kind man.
A tip for sanitizing; you can add bleach to dishwater (restaurants and facilities do this). Also, spraying things down first before any cleaning helps to keep particles out of the air and out of your airways and orifices. Those garden sprayers used for fertilizers and pesticides work great. You can mix a large volume of cleaner and save your hands from carpal tunnel. They're also great for pretreating floors and upholstery, spraying walls, etc. As for the woman you're helping, if she can afford a new dishwasher (or her daughter or a fund raiser), she could rinse and load as she goes and then run it once a week or whenever its full and her daughter or aide could unload it for her. A robot vacuum and mop in one would also be great for her due to her lack of mobility. I would be willing to bet that your viewers would donate to a fund for her or that you could ask for a sponsorship from a company. They already send promotional items to TH-camrs as a form of free advertising, and they offer discount codes to viewers (which may or may not earn you a kickback, enabling you to do more for your clients). As always, thank you for all that you do for these people in need
I have mobility issues, and seriously considered a robot vacuum -- but I am afraid that it would roll under my feet, and do more harm than good (I only have so many hips to break)

@@dancers3I believe you're right. For most of my life my home was always so clean you could eat off my floors. Now that my back issues have gotten way worse and I'm in constant pain and not just an occasional flare up my house has really taken the hit. I'm a boomer with no children either and my hubbs drives truck, so gone a lot which means I have no day to day help. Fortunately I can keep our main living area, kitchen, our bedroom and bath relatively clean (but still not to my standards) but those rooms are less than half of the rest of this house, which is WAY too big for us but was bought so my mother could live with us before she passed.
After a thorough deep clean of yourself, you deserve to “eat things you’re not supposed to”, and then “lay around” after that hoarder clean. You are truly amazing to do what you do
The fact that you found a successful therapy for yourself and at the same time you help someone that has not yet found their better place is truly amazing, remarkable and awesome. I subscribed to help get the TH-cam plaque to freak out your kids friends. I am also a father and I completely understand your goal!
After losing my fiancé a week before our wedding, and having suffered the loss of ten close friends and relatives in a period of ten years, I can understand how completely disabling grief is. I attended a course call “Grief Share” at church. It is offered at many churches throughout the country. It breaks down grief into its many components, and allows people to process their emotions. Hoarding is not a problem for me, but my fiancé had both a spending problem and a hoarding problem. Thank goodness I had his adult children who efficiently cleared his accumulated hoards over his office, my garage and five storage areas. For those who do not have people to help with this problem, people who offer them help in cleaning up the hoards are a wonderful asset.
I love how you approach these hoarding videos. No shaming or pitying, just "this is what it is and I'm going to help fix it". And hearing that she is in therapy made me very happy. Also, there's no way I can clean in silence. Usually I sing, but sound effects are known to happen too. And a suggestion for the hazmat suit as far as relatively light ickyness; painters suits? They won't keep out really vile stuff, but if you just want to keep from getting it on your clothes they should do the job.
Is the lady actually a hoarder? I always think of hoarder houses being full to the brim with stuff. Her home is overflowing and filthy but she was incapacitated for a long time. I can’t imagine being in her position. Thank goodness you have the ability to empathize and help her. You are an inspiration. Thank you
As a long term depression and anxiety sufferer I totally empathize with this lady. It’s so hard to see a way out when the hoard, mess and filth have gotten to this stage. That in turn compounds mental health issues and only makes the situation worse. When my anxiety is bad my OCD kicks In and I fixate on cleaning and scrubbing everything. I look at my home and see dirt and mess where there is none or very little. I’ll clean window frames and fridge/freezer with a tooth brush, get on my hands and knees and use a nail brush to clean around skirting boards and obsessively clean everything. On the other hand when I’m in low mood I find it hard to motivate myself to to anything. I’ll do the bare minimum to keep my home clean and tidy. I am very fortunate in that I have a very supportive husband who steps back during my manic cleaning phases and steps forward when I’m struggling. You are doing an amazing job helping this lady cleaning and decluttering her home to a point where she can either get a regular cleaner or keep on top of things herself. Love and light from Scotland xx
Aside from the wonderful things you are doing for people who need your help, let me just say that your videos, especially those with the dish-washing sound effect and the sped-up footfalls, are all the ASMR I need. Your voice on top of that leaves me soothed and calmed. You have also provided inspiration and motivation to clear my clutter. Thank you, sir.
such an understanding man. i know depression can make you leave your home a mess but when you're literally physically immobilized and have nobody to help you it gets really bad it seems. i feel so bad for her. so much good karma to you for helping her.
So true. I have not paid bills, in the past, though I had the means to pay them. I just could not make myself do it. That what depression does to me. Total withdrawal.
God bless you… What a wonderful thing you are doing. That poor woman could never have actually decluttered and sanitized everything. You are a very kind person..❤❤❤
This is the first time I've left a comment for you. I think your fabulous. You not only provide a essential service to so many who really want to live in a cleaner environment but you do it without being mean or uncaring. Love info you give on products you use. You and barbie are the greatest!God bless and take care. Love you bunches. Winnipeg canada
Running a household and keeping it clean is a huge job when you're healthy. Impossible after illness, etc. I've been praying for her total healing in Jesus's mighty name, AMEN!
I used to clean homes like this and it gave me such pleasure to see the end results and the home owners reactions. I have become unable to do it anymore due to my health. I'm so glad you are doing this for people and yourself.
To the lady who lives in this house, I am so so very proud of you! This is a very hard journey that you are going through, it can be heart breaking because of the things that you have to go though and have gone through, but you beautiful lady are walking through it. That is exactly how you are going to make it through the other side. You are a true inspiration to others who are going through the same struggles that you have faced and are facing. My gosh I am so amazed at your strength, in this time. You are truly treasured, you are highly blessed and you are deeply loved 🙏. Bless you abundantly 🙏🙏❤️❤️🙏🙏
Oh my word! I’m so sad to hear she didn’t get care post surgery that she clearly needed. It must be humiliating not be able to get to your own bathroom and have to resort to what she did. I can’t imagine. She needed a home health nurse or a rehab facility. Poor woman.
I have no idea what kind of insurance she had and I won't say what mine is specifically but before I had major surgery they examined my house and bathroom accessibility and had health care personnel come check on me several times a week after the surgery for up to 2 weeks. I'm fairly sure I would have been put in a rehab/nursing facility if I had been really disabled by the surgery.
Massive props to you. I used to clean biohazard semi trucks and i had one specific truck that was very similar to this. He had been using adult diapers for the bathroom for months that had piled up multiple feet tall. And then on top of that he had hundreds of milk jugs scattered around with 1-2 inches of coagulated milk & maggots inside. I had a full hazmat suit & respirator and i was still cringing the whole time. The way you’re doing this for free & out of kindness is insane. You’re an awesome person & have some serious balls cleaning that up in an N-95 mask lol
Wow. I'm glad that she was discovered eventually. It's very sad to think of her feeling like those puppy mats were her only option. I hope she can get a new chair somehow.
I'm glad you were using a stand up dust pan to save you from bending over to get that floor swept up and it was surprising she was wanting to help even though she physically couldn't do too much with the help. Not everyone who's a hoarder wants to help and provides more of a fight than anything. Well, not just hoarding but also mobility issues like she had. I have a lot of compassion for you and for also the lady you were helping
This is my third comment on this video LOL, but I can't help it. Your commentary is top notch. My favorite thing is that you throw in some humor to break up the seriousness. The car sounds during the dishes had me laughing... again! That says a lot, because I don't laugh a whole lot these days. Thank you for doing what you do. You're helping more people than you know. ❤️
You are an angel on Earth sir. I’ve had several surgeries on my back and hip and I know without my husband and family how easily someone could get into this situation. Truly an angel, with the perfect level of ornery! Lol thank you for helping people sir!
You gave this woman the opportunity to start a new beginning, in her home. Its really a true blessing to touch her life the way you did. We need mire people in this world like you, your son and all those who help you give back .❤❤ Love how show your compassion for those in need. Thank you for giving this wiman her home back to a safe place to live.
The fact you do this for free, to help out someone in need and because its therapeutic for you personally, is amazing. What a fantastic way to give back, to yourself and to people that need it the most ! Its refreshing! New subscriber ☺
Your videos are so touching. I wish I lived near you or could fly you to my state to ask for help. Years of depression, trauma, and then my autism and ADHD mixed in had turned my beautiful place into a literal representation of how depressed I’ve been and how much I’ve given up on life. Now that I’m getting the mental help I need, I’m so freaked out by how bad things are that I can’t even bring myself to ask someone I know for help. I can barely afford to get by, and hiring a company is out of the question. Anyways. Thank you for having such a big heart, and for helping people who otherwise would continue to suffer in these situations. What you’re doing changes lives.
I find it so sad that she clearly went for a great deal of time without any visitors - even when recovering from surgery. It reminds me that we all need to reach out to those people who don’t have a village to look after them. Just a brief visit every day would have enabled her to stay on top of it all. It breaks my heart that she’s been living amongst it all. You are incredible for helping her out.
You provide a wonderful service in a caring way. I have family members with autism and understand finding what is soothing is important. I appreciate your teaching the audience on how to deal with these situations if it comes up. Thank you
Please please, always Do voice overs for your videos. You are innately hilarious and some of the things you say have me crying. Love your videos and I love the fact that you’re a decent human being who likes to help people.
"butt falsehoods" LOLOL Your respect and compassion for others, especially those who have mental/physcial illness is commendable. If only more people shared those traits. So many times, my mother-in-law, who was bedbound, would say that her mind was willing, but her body couldn't. My wife and I lived with her and took care of her. We also had some help from home health aides who stayed with her when we were at work. Sadly, so many disabled people don't have that sort of situation. My heart goes out to this lady, and I hope that as of my commenting that she's doing alright. You are a blessing to all those you are helping. Thank you for posting these videos, and I can't wait until you hit 1 million subs!
I can relate so much to that woman because I am also a hoarder with multiple medical issues. My arm is also immobilized due to a fall I had in November. I had surgery a few weeks ago and am under orders to not use my right arm for another 4 weeks so I've been binge-watching your videos. This may sound strange but, when I hear your voice and listen to your words, I feel love. Not romantic love but just good person love, if there is such a thing. All I know is that when you speak, my heart swells. So it's either love-- or my congestive heart failure acting up. I have a family that is so nasty and judgmental of me--they won't even try to learn and understand what's going on with me. They just let me know that I'm a burden. So you keep doing you--you are touching and belping more people than you know. Thank you.❤
I'm so disappointed in her medical team, I'm a retired nurse and this is so sad, I do know how people can be though, my heart goes out to her and her family, thank you for helping them!
I appreciate your cleaning service to help in these desperate situations. Your statement "I really love the transformation from chaos to order," is so relatable. Thank you for how amazing, brave and awesome you are!
I hate the hoarders show because they treat people like garbage. Just because you offer them therapy doesn't mean that they can benefit from it just because you have a deadline to meet. Then they show family members berating (usually a parent) the hoarder to "get their act together". They don't seem to show any empathy to what is a pyschological disorder.
@@cleopatracatra2097 Well, I guess that's hard to do when you have a hoarder screaming in your face, ready to fight you because you want to throw out their valuable empty shampoo bottle.
You’re an angel 😇 I cleaned a vacation house 12 Saturdays each summer for 7 years and that, I thought was hard but I’m embarrassed now, when I see what you did. You are truly special 😊
I'm also neuro atypical and I too like cleaning filthy things, cracking corny jokes and make sound effects to amuse myself :) Thanks for videos, you make me laugh and love seeing things transformed
As an elderly disabled woman I can say when I can move I clean until I fall into bed but feel so good it's clean and it helps me mentally so much. No help. Take care of all but me. I know this will boost her and help her so much! Thanks for what you do! Jesus bless you 🌟
Thank you] for being respectful and compassionate for this overwhelmed, troubled woman. It sounds like she is getting the help she desperately needs. Nobody could fall - over time - into such disorder without feeling like a hopeless failure. BTW, charcoal grill lighter fluid does the same job of dissolving of adhesives as Goo-Gone at a fraction of the price. Thank you for helping her through her troubles - blessings to you and all.
God bless you for what you do 💕 and yes … that smell is unlike any smell in the world. My mom was sick a few years back and was bound to her recliner for several days soiling herself because she couldn’t walk to the bathroom. I’ll never forget when I got there to help my dad get her to the hospital. The smell is in my brain forever maybe because it was a traumatic experience, but I’ll never forget it.
I agree somebody sponsor this guy and get him some major cleaning equipment more than just scrub daddy although scrub daddy would be a start
He needs mops professional equipment for cleaning ASAP. He is literally an angel walking helping people like this for free.
It could happen to you, so don’t be judgmental. Never know what life holds for everybody.

He has a hazmat suit.
He is doing a great service
Especially the biohazard plastics...
Idk how no one is mentioning that you are hilarious. The whole suing the pants company for butt-disguising bit made me audibly giggle.
could have sued for butt shaming... hiding his butt
My best wishes for you both.
ya the blood clots are from the mrna shots they forced people to take. sry for your loss looks like she is over the hump and on the way to recovery
As a public service worker, I enter hundreds of homes a year. There are more houses like this than people realize. You Sir are doing a great job.
Yeah, there is a genuine epidemic of hoarding in a county just south of ours.

"Why didn't she just ask us for help?"
About a year ago, I got randomly recommended a cleaning video for a hoarder house and watched it.
Thank you for sharing your story!!
💕

Wow Emi, what a story. Family members that suffer from hoarding issues certainly need love, patience, and understanding. It’s a complex problem that requires professional counseling. My heart goes out to you and your family, having to deal with this issue your life through.
I’ve cleaned hoarder houses in my youth, and I can appreciate what you went through to get your mothers trailer in order. You have my deepest respect.
Thank you for sharing.
I'm sure there were a lot of would've/should've/could've moments, but you got passed it and seem like a strong person.
Obviously the lady really needed to be placed in a rehabilitation facility after her surgery. It’s sad to me she didn’t get the level of care she needed. Thanks for helping her. You’re a gem 💎
I 100% agree. The fact that her hospital or doctor discharged her home when she couldn't get to the bathroom is malpractice and criminal.
That’s the US medical system for ya.
I felt humiliation for her too. Most doctors would not allow her to go home alone with no aftercare.
I wonder if perhaps there was an arrangement and either it fell through or it wasn’t for long enough. I’m confused though because I thought I heard him say she has family there? It’s hard to say but I hope she’s doing much better now.
True.. she needs medical help.
Yes, she really really needs all kind of tip and tricks to help her everyday challenge. Yours is a great tip.
Office chair + $30 set of rollerblade wheels for super easy and quiet movement on those hard floors
I agree with what your saying but sometimes there are long waiting lists I agree idk why sometimes relatives don’t step in !

I think it was brave of her to even allow you to come help her. Pride itself takes a lot out of you and God bless you for helping her.
What a great point you made.
Thats the big Problem... If you cannot move properly, everything that Drops down stays down.
Same here. I can't bend down to pick things off the floor anymore, except for me it's due to a permanent, progressive muscular disease for which there is no treatment and no cure.

It’s so sad that after her surgery she didn’t have anybody help her :( so thankful for what you do

@@jackiesmithsmetaldetecting hoarding.
@@wandai.7038 I know of hoarders like young people as well as old keeping memories etc i didnt know hoarding was a disorder
I was also very concerned about combining bleach into an ammonia-laden environment. People pass out with that.
Great job! Take your time and enjoy the small victories.
@@carolg.6838 You are so right!
I'm so proud of you! Truly! Even a small pile of mail sorted through, a cluttered corner cleared is an immense achievement, big hugs!🥰💕💕💕
I agree! I have two boys with ASD and they are among the funniest people I’ve ever met. (I suspect I also have it and am also pretty damn funny.) 😂😂

I forgot to paste the first part of this comment I drafted:
MAJOR, MAJOR props to this lady for keeping up with the cleaning and taking extra initiative.
I just discovered your videos last night, and have been watching almost all day. I like watching unbelievable clutter/hoarding change into a decluttered clean home. Keep up the great work. 🏆

Creepy comment Linda
This poor woman had to probably be alone after such enormous surgeries. I can’t imagine the pain and difficulties she must’ve had thank you to this wonderful man who was willing to put in this tremendous effort to help her. No price can be put on his generosity.
Dude you did a great job with this lady’s house and with keeping this ladies dignity interact 👍
Totes x2 XD
Me too when I watch your videos I find myself organizing more and throwing or donating items. This has helped me a lot! Thanks for your videos ❤

So sad for this poor lady to have been left unable to look after herself. You’re an absolute angel for helping her in this way. Superb cleaning ❤️
How do we help people before they have to be submitted to living this way?
Isn’t that the truth that you would have to look after yourself when you’re in a totally helpless situation that you can’t do anything.
Carla here…your butt is cute. The pants are fine.
He has a sprayer, you can see him use it in other videos for floors
I have mobility issues, and seriously considered a robot vacuum -- but I am afraid that it would roll under my feet, and do more harm than good (I only have so many hips to break)

Thank you so much for helping people. I'm a childless boomer with a nice handful of health issues. My partner of 27 years was diagnosed with stage 4 liver/colon cancer about a year ago. All it takes is one bad illness and your house is a wreck. Thank you again! 🥰
I don't think this home is a hoarder at all, just a very sick person doing the best they could.
Yes I agree, she is a sick person having a very hard time & I’m so sorry.

Same here! I actually love this guy with his personality and kind soul ❤️
God bless you for your hard work in helping people that can’t clean anymore, you did a great Job. God bless you both. praying she gets better.
I recently discovered your channel and oh my! The help you give to others is amazing. You are a true hero to those you help.
Thanks, Shelley! ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you
Not really hoarding, but more "nesting", and more so out of inability to do otherwise, considering medical problems.
Thank you, sir.

i know depression can make you leave your home a mess but when you're literally physically immobilized and have nobody to help you it gets really bad it seems.
i feel so bad for her. so much good karma to you for helping her.
So true. I have not paid bills, in the past, though I had the means to pay them. I just could not make myself do it. That what depression does to me. Total withdrawal.
It cost us 12,000 to clean-up my brothers hoard after my mother passed, neither me nor my sister had the stomach to do it, kudos to you💖

Thank you for cleaning for this lady and for showing her such respect and compassion. You are truly a wonderful human.
I can't tell you how much I appreciate your factual, non judgemental commentary. You're a saint. What a kind, compassionate man you are.
Watching Hoarders Houses/Cleaning videos makes me want to clean. God Bless you for helping this lady!
