These are my favourite videos of yours, it was the house clearances (particularly the hoards) that were the reason I discovered the channel. great to see another series.
Agree, but just a warning wait until the people move out or at least give permission before you do it. The police didn't care how much fun I was having for some reason.
I am ready to get rid of my furniture & belongings right now and I am barely 60. There comes a time when one is just done with it all & need a clean break.
I'm glad to see Alex back to helping with clean outs, but at the same time I have a twinge of sadness for the elderly people who have had to leave so much of their prior lives behind. I know we all age and give up our treasures but it's still a bit sad. Hopefully the left overs can provide furnishings for half a dozen Ukrainian families.
I felt the same way. It looks like my house. But what I figure is that I can enjoy all of the stuff while I am here and then it can all be sold to give the money to my kids. They only have to keep what they want and walk away from the rest. Leave that for some collector to enjoy. That's how treasures are found.
My only experience with this type of thing was with my mom. She was was absolutely not a hoarder in any way, but as she got older the house, the yard and two outbuildings, and all they contained became more and more of a burden to her and caused her a lot of anxiety. I think the stress of it all caused her to lose attachment to most of it. When she went into assisted living, it was like 10 years fell off her. She had everything she needed, was able to take a few pieces of furniture and artwork to make her room feel like home and was happier than we had seen her in years. She told us to take what we wanted and donate everything that was left. So...it's not always sad. I know that having the burden of house and property taken off her shoulders added years to my mother's life.
Dear Archbold family. 👍👌👏 Back to the roots at last! Looks already like a really great purchase. Congratulations!🎉 What an impressive house on a fantastic property. Looks like a dream to me. Nothing looks cheap, everything seems to be really good quality stuff (for instance the hand truck/sack barrow). Everything is even pretty clean. Thanks a lot for making explaining recording editing uploading and sharing. Best regards, luck and especially health to all involved.
I grew up on a farm. Helped both my grandparents clean up their farms in my 20's and 1 moved soon after. After my parents retired and moved to town then a retirement residence all that was left fit in a small u haul and minimal furniture. Less stress and going thru items is best. I hope to downsize and get rid alot of items when I retire as I do not want to leave too much for my children.
I cleaned out my house about 6 months ago. Thought I got rid of so much, but when we packed to move, I couldn't believe how much more stuff we didn't need. Very careful about what we buy now.
Love these clear out videos, but always worry a little about you. Take care of your back and wear a mask when you need it! Thanks for sharing your adventures.

The weaving loom will get you a few hundred $'s, especially if all the extras come with it. Look for the wooden bench that goes with it as that will add a lot of value. I also noticed what looked like a warping mill in the garage. To maximize your profits, maybe a member of a local weavers guild can come in and help you identify all the weaving bits you may find throughout the house.
Alex never does anything to "maximize" his profits. He donates or tosses perfectly sellable stuff and takes every thing to Kaster auction house where a large majority of the items don't go for near what he could get for them with a little effort. i understand his fast nickle over a slow dime philosophy but still.
@@justmeiniowa He does that not only to sell faster but also because of the extra room he would need to hold onto all of those sellable things, especially when doing a clean out like this one. A lot of more modern furniture and other stuff never sells for much and/or it sits for a long time before it sells. It's not worth hanging onto things like that. It's better to give it to someone that could use it and get it out of your way. I don't know if he does this but sometimes when you donate stuff you can use that as a tax write off up to so much.
@@gigicostlow4414 I know this but I still disagree with using Kastners exclusively and he has stated in videos he does NOT get any tax write offs for donations.
While I have no idea of the facts behind your recent clean out, it saddens me so much to see how a life time is reduced to trash and fodder. Been thru this a couple of times with family members, but it is still so sad to see this realization for any human being.
Hi Alex. I haven't watched you in a long time. I opened up TH-cam and your video was the 1st one. So glad it was there, that way I can start watching you again.
I think the music box song is just "Somewhere My Love" (Lara's Theme)" from the 1965 MGM film Doctor Zhivago. It started playing when you opened the bottom drawer of the jewelry box, so it will probably stop by closing it again.
There's even nice decorating pieces for your yard . The iron bench will look so pretty sitting underneath the tree on the back lot a lot of those items for the outdoors would be so pretty
For the spinning wheel and loom…they look to be functional tools. You might try to contact a local spinning or weaving guild, for assistance in pricing/ selling these tools.
What a charming Tudor-style house, complete with an English cottage garden. These folks must have really enjoyed their lovely home. It's great that it's pretty clean, too. Happy sorting, I'll be along for the ride.

The cleanouts and car videos are what I love! Keep em coming!
That is a high dollar stove, for sure, several thousand. We just cleared out my late sis' two homes in two states. Seeing this house gives me ptsd flashbacks. Good luck.
So pleased to see another clearout really excited to watch but please don't chuck the dollshouse in the trash .
Im so happy to see a clean out again!
I’m excited to see another clean out video! It’s been awhile! Hope to see you, the family, Hans and Zenobia, Josh too!
I love all the little things people have collected…a life well lived!
I was happy to be able to watch another house clearing video!
Alex I remember being so overwhelmed for you when you went through the Potter’s house and then the musician’s house but you kept us all grounded and focused. So we need that again. And please wear a mask Alex. Your voice changes as you talk when you’re around all this dust. Can’t wait to see all that you can save from this house. ✌🏻🤍🤞🏽
What a lovely home! Love these series!
So glad to see you in a long series house clear out again. I hope we get to see a lot of it like the Potter house!
